thanks fcmatt, keep selling us your coins. are you done mining onces having / asics hits?

I am going to keep mining with the gpus until diff rises much higher.

The block reward halving, from the perspective of a miner, is as if the difficulty were to double.  No?

Sure, but if you heat with electricity anyway mining has no ongoing cost.

Heating a home with graphics cards costs the same as a furnace (in electricity)?   Cheesy
Best I can tell it is much cheaper to heat this home and areas with GPUs than our central heating and air. I wish I had this solution years ago.

I wish GPU mining would continue being profitable. I would love to see someone design a house heated by graphics cards lol

Why does it feel like once the last 50 BTC block gets mined, there's gonna be a massive 100k dump? I can't shake the feeling off lol

It's because every time a majority thinks "this time it's going to the moon because of X" it actually goes down. Like there's some rich dude who likes to troll us all, just for fun Cheesy  (and make profit maybe)

It's most likely going to be somewhat of a non-event.

Imagine filling a bathtub - turn the water on at 1 liter per minute. At the halfway point, turn the water down to 1/2 liter per minute. There's less disturbance on the surface of the water, which is the same place markets operate. There will be an initial bit of a volatility, then not much of anything - just a gradual continuation of supply expansion.

The supply won't expand faster than the amount of wealth flowing into the Bitcoin system, though. That means that, since supply won't meet demand, the exchange rate must rise to compensate. The Great Halving is not of much concern - it is the level of demand that's important. As long as Bitcoin keeps drawing new interest, the exchange rate will go up.

no one is going to dump at reward hahlving, they are all going to expect the price to surge because of a restricted supply.

short term, yes, but the smaller miners are probably going to drop off more, as well as those with high power costs so the diff should adjust down a bit before asic hits.

to put this is another point of view he is a 40k seller he is not longer a bull when the only thing he can do is sell, the sentiment can be bullish but the only action he have is sell and if the price dont go up like expected guess what .....

bull that are already in the market= bears, few ppl get this
