I think there are too many people long on bitcoin waiting to jump in for it to go much lower and certainly not going to wait 48 hours.
I think there are too many poeple that will sell their coins in a panic and will still make over 300% profit!  |

One needs an active order placed already to get in on the "cheap" btc. Cause there are no cheap coins to buy in quantity based on the ask amounts currently on gox. Ppl be dumping.

If someone can clarify: Are the prices we're seeing on Mt. Gox "real" or are they going to be reset once the switch back to the old one or whatever takes place?

They are real, BTC on the exchanges is safe, as they are traded between accounts off the block chain. Having said that, we just experienced a longer fork of orphaned blocks. We had many forks, just not as long as this one. This 11 block fork is nothing to worry about |

They are real, BTC on the exchanges is safe, as they are traded between accounts off the block chain. AFAIK, this is not true for Intersango. |
