You guys aren't saints too. This situation is quite funny, because what we have here is an example of a company with its own closed society of investors similar to Apple and of course Bitcoin. In the beginning most people had positive attitude, invested and some of them dropped out, resigned in the process. The dropouts made their own society to make fun of the people who are still in and turned against the defenders of the original investment. I read some of the comments here and on their forum and this is almost an exact copy of the battle between permabulls and permabears in the speculation subforum. Lovers vs haters the battle rages on. The difference is that people who are calling bitcoin a scam have done no due diligence, whereas the people calling GAW a scam have. Apple and bitcoin are not get rich quick schemes and they don't throw around red flags almost daily like GAW does. You hear about Apple and bitcoin all over the internet, but GAW/hashcoin is practically never discussed outside of their own astroturfed forums.

So people are buying chances on a chance of ROI.
Yeah pure gambling at this point but the horizon is a lot further away than playing the slots. So what exactly are you doing? Aren't we all gambling? Aren't we all hoping the BTC/USD conversion rate goes up? We are all literally playing a game... a virtual lottery/raffle where we hope that when the prize hits we are holding enough bitcoin to make it worth our while and investment in the bitcoin lottery/raffle tickets. This thread is entertaining... I'll give you that. I'm guessing this is where everyone goes to sulk after they are banned on Hashtalk?

I got out of GAW about even, which I appreciate.
As an investor I seriously dislike changing stories and I have no reason to give any second chances. Once trust is lost, that´s that. On to other pastures. But best of luck to the forgiving.

You're making a broad assumption here that everyone's doing the same thing. The decision to hold or not hold BTC does not depend on putting one's faith into a very opaque company that seems to be changing its business strategy every few weeks. Anyone is free to dump or buy or otherwise gamble with BTC at any time, there are no major problems with liquidity or any significant lack of information as far as trading is concerned. Try cashing out your hashpoints and let us know how far you got.

So you have what it takes to be a cheerleader for GAW. I find it funny that people like you have stopped mining for real, if you ever mined or even know what that is. I should thank all of you at GAW or Hashtalk for keeping the Bitcoin difficulty down So, thank you.

Hi all
I've been following this thread and the previous one for a while . I'm european and invested in gaw for 50 mh of primes now .
If I understood well : gaw ceo is an american citizen gaw miner is located in USA . gaw ceo claims are public , and can be trace.
I did not run the numbers (right now it's pure speculation), but after the madoff story and the mt gox story, knowing than in USA the worst thing you could do is steeling money and cheating on your wife with your secretary, would not it be very risky to scam people with such big amount of money knowing than : at best you'll end up in jail or in the street as a tramp, or at worst being hunt down like a mad dog by halff the people you scamed in a country where a lot of people have firearms ?
Do not listen to these trolls. Majority of people who hates towards GAW are just spouting utter nonsense. It is mix of conspiracy theories and normal bullshit. Next thing trolls will be telling us will be that Josh is eating babies or something in his basement... Get real boys. GAW may not be ideal company but - face it - they never scammed and will never scam anyone.

On that note... Update: It would be advisable everyone get acquainted with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), who is also aware of the situation and welcoming additional feedback and complaints. http://www.consumerfinance.govCongress established the CFPB [in 2010] to protect consumers by carrying out federal consumer financial laws. Among other things, we: •Write rules, supervise companies, and enforce federal consumer financial protection laws •Restrict unfair, deceptive, or abusive acts or practices •Take consumer complaints •Promote financial education •Research consumer behavior •Monitor financial markets for new risks to consumers •Enforce laws that outlaw discrimination and other unfair treatment in consumer finance ================= Associated development - The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) published an 870 page-long proposed regulation for prepaid cards last week, which could have implications for Bitcoin and digital currency wallets. “What it potentially means is that companies that are bitcoin wallet providers may end up having to treat the accounts that they manage on behalf of bitcoin holders as prepaid accounts”, according to Mercedes Tunstall of Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP. The Government Accountability Office tasked the CFBP with imposing consumer protections on the digital currency industry earlier this year, and this is likely to be the first of many actions from the CFPB on this issue. SoooooOOooo... make sure those "Hashcoin" payment cards are compliant! ...if they are even released before everything comes to a grinding halt. Scott-

When suddenly their world´s best paying pool suddenly tanked because they were suddenly renegotiating how to keep it that way and the same day they came up with that sob story about how poor they had been scammed with the authorizations keys I started moving out. Any word on those negotiations, BTW ?

I haven't seen evidence of a single block solved by GAW.
I think it's pretty evident that they do not mine with their physical miners for themselves. They rent this power out (probably to entities like NiceHash, or other cloud mining services), and pay the dividends back to the customers based on what they would have gotten had they used the physical miners for themselves. No where has GAW ever said anything different. If people aren't comfortable with this, fine.

Investing is a zero-sum game. Look that up sometime. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. Those who are good at gaming the system end up winning more in the long run... all at the expense of others. Typical wall-street investing/gambling requires ever-increasing sums of fiat to keep propping up profits and returns... hmmm... sounds a lot like a giant ponzi to me.

I'll put my character, ethics, and morals up against Mr. HashTitan any day - if in court, at least we will get some answers to the questions he has been avoiding for months now.
Make no mistake, this situation isn't funny to those who feel they have been sucked in with some tasty bait just to have the situation switched on them without reasonable opportunity to investigate or reject what was/is being done with their investment. Likewise, you make assumptions in favor of GAW/Zen with no basis or facts of your own since it you are simply regurgitating what Mt. GAW has fed to you. That may be OK with you, but not others who can see things for what they are.
Scott-
What did I say in their favor? I haven't bought a single cloud contract, GAW or not, and spent maybe 30 min on hashtalk, but you're right in one thing. I do think you are funny with your offensive posture and assuming people who don't nod reading your posts must be stupid, delusional or from GAW. +1 to the poster above.
