Here is a good question:

https://hashtalk.org/topic/18826

Quote
I do NOT doubt GAW is signing up 10,000 new customers a day.

Question: If that is the case why are the Primes still around 40 each and the Zens at 10-11. Are these 10000 customers not buying anything? You'd think the market would be slim pickings.

I just think it's cute how anybody who doubts GAW in the slightest is labelled a "troll".

Sounds to me like an excuse somebody uses when they aren't intelligent enough to come up with a counter-argument.

Either way, the fact that GAW cheerleaders troll around bitcointalk trying to shoot down any reasonable discussion about the company just goes even further to show how much they want to censor all talk about this scam that isn't screaming at you to give Josh more money.

To be fair, it goes both ways on here.  If you attempt to say anything positive about GAW/Zen/Josh/Hashpoints/Hashcoin... you get labeled and put on some person's "ignore list".

I haven't ignored anybody, and I will only label you if you come here insulting other people while not trying to disprove any of the claims made against GAW here.

A common misconception held by some is that the stock market is a zero-sum game. It isn’t, since investors may bid share prices up or down depending on numerous factors such as the economic outlook, profit forecasts and valuations, without a single share changing hands. Ultimately, the stock market is inextricably linked to the real economy, and both are powerful tools of wealth creation rather than zero-sum games.

I'm sorry, but this is just a shill post from a company with a vested interest in keeping their stock-market ponzi scheme going.  Smiley Cheesy Tongue

The stock market isn't a zero-sum game because value can be added indefinitely. In the example you give, it's possible that the company actually has more assets than it did when the stock was acquired. Businesses can grow, and it's possible (although not likely) for everyone to come out ahead. In the big picture, this works because productivity increases, and more can be created with the same resources. Although there are losers in the stock market, there don't HAVE to be losers in the stock market.

Theoretically, what would happen if everyone tried to sell their stocks in every other company in the world and simply try to buy Apple stock because of it's performance?  What would happen to the stock market?  What would happen to all those sell orders that couldn't be fulfilled because everyone is trying to sell?  Since no one is buying your GE stock because they want to buy Apple... what happens to the money?

GAW is giving away a genesis miner with each new account With genesis 1GH going for .50 they are giving away what $5?  My guess is that most of the "new" customers are "old" customers just creating "new" accounts.

I'm surprised someone hasn't written a bot to do it yet. ;P

Zero sum means there's a constraint on the game such that all gains are offset by equal losses. If someone gains X, another person loses X, and X + -X = 0.

Here, there's no such constraint. The stock market has been zero-sum for specific lengths of time in the past, but it doesn't have to be. In practice, it's not overall. Because economies grow and people become more productive, the value of the stock market grows over time.

In practice, there are going to be winners and losers, but there's no constraint saying that has to happen. In fact, there's more won than lost in the stock market overall, so it's not zero-sum. The sum is greater than zero.

Troll or no troll... it doesn't really matter because none of us have all the information or facts necessary to prove or disprove any claims or counter-claims other than what is already known or public.  This quickly escalates the level of debating our opinions.

They are actually giving away $10.  $5 worth of Genesis to the new user, and 500 hashpoints to the referrer.

There is no $5 worth of Genesis because you can't sell the gift. There value of hashpoints is also debatable, besides you only get the 500 points if the new user buys something (the gift doesn't count). So the real gain here is much smaller - the tiny daily payout from the gifted Genesis, plus the ability to essentially purchase 500 hashpoints for about $0.50 (Market fees if you buy the cheapest hashlet and then resell it).

Edit: 500 hashpoints may become $25 if you believe in the PayCoin, so maybe that's what's driving the new accounts. $0.50 bet to win $25, I can see some people taking that.

You really only need to buy one hashlet, then you can keep on selling it to yourself and only lose 10% Smiley I should try this

PayCoin sounds a little close to PayPal in "lexical construction", didn't a bunch of companies get into trouble for using "iSomething" in the past couple of years?  I'm probably completely off track, not sure how TM works, I'm guessing the name was vetted by lawyers not to come in conflict with others in the same space having a similar name that could be mislead.

I think it's a deliberate stab at PayPal. He tweeted this a while ago:

Quote
oh paypal, here we come Smiley

Apparently there were some other tweets at PayPal that have since been deleted:

https://hashtalk.org/topic/18769

And the HP to PC (PYC?) conversion may be postponed by a couple of weeks:

There is no need, it's to be generous to our customers. The time frame is the time frame.

Giving more paycoins out at Pre ico prices just cost us more paycoins and creates more upside to customers. How is that an issue?

And then there is this tweet, which is kind of ironic - I'd say the situation is quite the opposite at the moment:

https://twitter.com/gawceo/status/535188115741503488

Quote
Paycoin: the coins are yours. You can transfer them anywhere you want. PayPal: the money is yours. You can transfer when they let you Smiley

Meanwhile the existing shitcoin with the same name is still trading on Cryptsy:

https://www.cryptsy.com/markets/view/PYC_BTC

Really weird that they didn't think to buy it out or fork it or do something to avoid confusion.

Hmm... this special ICO guide makes it sound like we are going to mine Hashpoints 4 more weeks:

https://hashtalk.org/topic/18846

tl;dr: Hashpoints will be exchanged to PayCoins on ZenCloud within the next 2-4 weeks, but this will be just a number on the site. Actual PayCoin will "hit the blockchain" at the very end of the ICO, which doesn't have a firm date, but should happen in December. And it will be tradeable to BTC/fiat and accepted by many merchants "shortly after".

This bitgeek kid is just angry  Cry I don't think he has a clue what crypto mining is, he's just here to annoy.

Bingo.

Now what really matters, well to those who own Zens anyway...

Paycoin? Dumb name and the tagline is equally dumb. I hope enough suckers keep this afloat until I sell my coins!

I love how there are grammatical errors in the first fucking sentence of the white paper. They have had how long to edit and reedit it?

ABSTRACT
This paper examines PaycoinTM, from a technical and practical perspectives as a new cryptocurrency designed to facilitate mass adoption and long-term valuation stability.

There should be no comma or one after perspectives as well. However it's from a technical and a practical perspective(You need to add an "a"  before technical and perspective is not plural OR from technical and practical perspectives(Remove the a before technical).

If you can't even get the first sentence right and you make 2 errors, how serious can I take any of it?

Noticed one more thing... if you go to hashcoin.com it redirects to paycoin.com and there is no timeline chart or any other ICO information, just the unfinished white paper. Hold on to your hashpoints, this might take a bit longer than expected.

Maybe this is the reason that only the first few sentences were read at the investment meeting.

What do you guys think about new features for the Hashlet Prime?

Currently, they don't make much money.. even with the double-dip feature. So, new features should be added to earn atleast as much money as it's worth now, or you'll have to wait for a long long long time if GAW proves to be profitable (forever).

I think the main new feature is known - ability to mine PayCoin and get the share of profit from Prime Controllers, whatever that's worth.

Keep in mind that the current value of Primes is supported by the Market, in other words if someone is willing to pay $40 then they must think it's worth it. Those who don't think so are selling.

So with Josh in NY this week for the TV/News interviews, was there ever a schedule posted? Did he ever confirm if it was TV interviews or interviews for print/web?

Also, any reason he would need to be in NY? It seems like most of the interviews done on CNN or CNBC these days are via Satellite. Occasionally they will have someone in studio, but it is generally pretty big name/well known people nationally.

Maybe this got missed in the troll fest that went on for a few pages, but does anyone know the answer to my questions?

Is he actually in NY this week still?
