Well this has backfired
Regardless. The overall feedback has been negative. We are open to any suggestions as to what to do with the controller. The only way cryptsy was going to benefit from this situation is if some good comes out of us having the controller in the communities eyes.
We wont be taking any more controllers that are offered to us
Suggestion - have the controller you control set to 0% stake rate. No burning of coins, no creation of coins, simply 0% coins, essentially render the controller null and void except as a voting mechanism. One controller, one vote, nothing else. You can't just click a button and set the stake rate to 0%. They would need to create a hard fork. They could just move the coins to another wallet but that would force them to give up the imaginary voting rights that Prime Controllers now have. (funny how one day the non-profits just decided that their free Prime Controllers get the sole voting rights to "the peoples coin" and everyone went along with it) Cryptsy, again, if you have a shred of decency/integrity, you'd burn 100% of the coins. Oh I understand what would need to be done (ie hard fork), but since he asked for a suggestion I gave mine. Turn it into a voting mechanism only. I've stated many times on other boards/forums that PCs do nothing to warrant the stake rate (either original or new) and that they should be reduced/eliminated. Without staking and stealing, coinstand isn't possible and it's down to 1 Satoshi even quicker

Forgive my petulance and oft-times, I fear, ill-founded criticisms, and forgive me that I have, by this time, made your eyes and head ache with my long letter. But I cannot forgo hastily the pleasure and pride of thus conversing with you.

Instead of destroying ALL useless high staking wallets ("Primecontrollers") and premined coins to at least give the coin a little chance to not go totally worthless they give an EXCHANGE ,which should not even stake at all imaho, an high staking wallet for 1$.
AMAZING.
Wonder how many customers cryptsy losing today...
Just pulled what I had there off. I'll mess about on a different exchange from now on. Sure there's a lot more people thinking like I am right now. Crypsty can officially fuck right off. Same here... moved my bags of coins to different exchanges... gave them a little wave as they flew through the intertubez, now will go back to ignoring them again...

Yeah I'm done with cryptsy. They can enjoy jail accepting a bribe from a known criminal and fraudster though.

anyone ever looked at the post count and its decreasing for some reason Reported posts and others not comfortable at what they are saying after the fact. I've done it before. Based on a recent Subpoena and Theymos' response; even your deleted posts are saved. If I were him I would not keep such records nor log IP addresses. If he has to log IPs for DDOS reasons then I would suggest deleting them after 1 week. There is no law to keep that stuff.

This is ethically reprehensible. Cryptsy breaks checks and balances. They are acting like a central bank AND and exchange. They can print the coins and since they have ownership of them do what ever they like with them. Donate them, burn them, dump them. The people do not have a say in what happens, the people cant vote against what Cryptsy does with the coin. As an exchange Cryptsy should know full and well that their sole purpose and means of earning an income should only be trading and listing fees. If they invest in the coins they trade then then are complicit, they have crossed an ethical line where now they can control the liquidity and circulation of a coin in and to the market. They are both the market and market maker. Why the SEC is NOT investigating Cryptsy outside of this GarzaGAW debacle I do not know. And if Cryptsy has no problems with doing this, then what else have they been involved in? Naked shorting coins using customer deposits?? This would be especially easy to do with Paycoin, since 90% of all XPY trades are done on Cryptsy. The fact that there are imbeciles in the Paycoin Cult that are sitting around in their Spiderman unperpants clapping like retards about this happening is shocking. HT is down, so the Paycoin Cultists are all active here right now: http://talk.paycoin.com/discussion/830/cryptsy-received-a-prime-node/p1 "YaaaaH! Now Cryptsy can pull even more shenanigans with "The People's Money". It has been known for quite some time that Cryptsy will Stake their customers Coins and sell them into the market for higher gains. iGotSpots calls it double dipping but essentially they are taking customers funds. Customers have challenged this quite a few times in which Cryptsy ultimately dodges the issue in which they say they "may be Staking Coins but often just hold on to them", in reality they are Staking most or all of customers deposits without their knowledge. People will just leave Coins on the exchange so it becomes the excuse that if Coins are left on the exchange that they are entitled to Stake the Coins in their wallet. It is not alright however to Stake on customers deposits because the rest of the network that IS Staking will then receive less and their Coins are also worth less on the exchange because of the naked shorting of the market. There is no notice to say that if customers Coins are left on the exchange that Stakes generated becomes the property of the exchange, ignorance is bliss.

That thread just goes to show bitpop has some integrity, where as rdewilde's posts on hashtalk tend to show the opposite.

Also, notice it goes w/out principle.. that means they unloaded those coins (125k?) somewhere and now cryptsy has loaded it up with 125k of user coins(?) to stake at 100%APR? Damn, at this rate, you'd think the US Federal Reserve would be getting jealous that this PayCoin is taking over their turf of making up money out of thin air.

That thread just goes to show bitpop has some integrity, where as rdewilde's posts on hashtalk tend to show the opposite. Every post Bitpop makes with my name in it has been a personal attack, you call that integrity? And because of what: i don't know the guy, never even talked to him, didn't do him any harm or take any money. I find that quite disrespectfull. I sent the guy PM trying to talk over whatever issue is on, instead he's posting some swearing ontopic, including personal info (which I requested to get removed); would you like that? Talking about integrity.... I don't know his integrity, but I know mine is fine. We may or may not agree, you may or may not support free speech. You may read this and don't give a shit, but at least we should respect eachother, right? And yes, I removed the post within a minute because I had second thoughts about it being inappropriate and something I wouldn't like myself
