Right. I added westhash (as I'm in the US) as my first pool, and add a high price per TH in my password so I don't miss opportunities to mine at a higher market rate. This way when crazy things like Payoin come along and boost the market price to 500+% your miner switches automatically, even if you are asleep! My regular primary pool goes in the second pool slot, and is used until my price threshold is exceeded at westhash. I hope this helps! yeah, i had that, but then miner periodically connected to westhash even when it was in third position (maybe it was on S5, not Sp20) and the whole setup got frozen once every 24 hr for some reason. Once i removed the westhash, everything was back to normal. Maybe just a coincidence. I can't speak to the S5, but I've not had any issues with running WH as the first pool on my SP20. I've been running it with that setup for a couple weeks now.

Thanks. Did it help? I am not sure what % of the sound (72db at fan 20 for the stock fan) is caused by the fan itself and how much is caused by moving the air through the metallic grille/sieve. The stock fan is supposed to be just 61dB, but SP20 produces way more than that (up to 72dB close by).
I'm seriously considering dremeling that out and taking a new measurement.

Anybody knows what kind of fan Sp20 has? 38mmX120X120mm or something else? I can look up myself, of course, but don't want to stop the hashing. Thinking of putting either delta or Scythe ultra kaze in place of the stock fan; i know someone even put gentle typhoon, but i need to support just 1200gh/600-650w.
>snip image< I've used a Scythe ultra kaze but they are only 130CFM which is fine if you are underclocking. Any of the Scythe high CFM fans will work, the black high speed GT's or the even scythe kaze jyuni 1900rpm But yes its a 38x120mm fan but you can use a 25mm fan if you want. I've currently got the Ultra Kaze on one of my SP20's However as its a propietary connector to the daughterboard in the SP20, you either have to cut the connector off the stock fan and wire it up to the new one, or you have to connect it to the PSU directly like I did: >snip image< Thanks. Yes it helped, the fan itself or rather the bearings are what make the metallic noise the stock fan makes. A kaze ultra at 100% is much more bearable.

Try: "W:127.0.01,W:192.168.1.0/24,W:192.168.1/24"
I had to put both versions in my config to get it workin... yeah, its weird, dont know which one really works haha
For some reasons it workes now...though it adds backslash

sure, it is proprietary? What's the name of that even smaller kind of connector?

Regarding 2.6.1 firmware... CGMiner reports greatly exaggerated hashrate results.... For example, the last 3 days, cgminer shows an average of 1770GH, while the miner is 1432GH in 'asic stats' page and pool reflects just 1430GH's as well....
This wasnt a problem w/ previous firmware / old cgminer 4.7.0 version...

The stock fan is very noisy, any 7 blade delta fan is better. If they could just change the fan connector to standard PC PWM socket, it will be much easier to mod The metal stand below the fan can be removed, it contact directly with the fan and amplify its noise

I wouldn't remove the bottom metal stand - it keeps the boards firmly in place. Thinking about changing the stock fan though, the noise is driving me crazy now with 4 units

if you underclock the new firmware allows fans as low as 6% these 2 screen shots should help. I am doing 1 miner that is running around 1100gh. I was on 20 I am picking auto 6% 1132 gh

What temperature should I aim for to prevent harming the SP20? I am reaching 78C on Back T,B with 23C intake. Also does anyone have a calculator or chart showing effeciency ? Clocking it down to around 1050GH gets me around 0.51 watt per GH. Trying to go over 1600GH and it drops to 0.71-0.78 watt per GH

SP20 willl automatically throttle down when chips reach>=120C. Once it does it, you lose in efficiency, so it is better to stay at or below 115C chip temperatures. If your settings are out of whack, looking at your ASIC stats page would indicate so if you see any 120C there.

the sp20's need to run under 1400 if you have expensive power. the start to suck hard on power above 1400gh.

Even without that stand the top mounting for the controller board will still lock those ASIC boards firmly in place. Stock fan is terrible, any delta 7 blade fan works much better than stock fan, but the problem is to modify the cabling to utilize the PWM feature on board, too much work for 4 units

I'm not sure what kind of adapater is needed. Couldn't you just hook the fan directly up to the PSU with some sort of regulator in between? Where to get said regulator is beyond me.

You could get power directly from psu but the fan will run with maximum speed. What johnyj want is the pwm feature from control board.
