So.. I moved my Spondoolies
I boot up 6, 3 come online 3 blink yellow twice. one of the 3 eventually came online. The other two eventually move to blinking green. than eventually rapid blink between yellow and green.
No idea what they are doing? All I can find is that two yellow means IP found?
They are on a switch, on a 100ft cat5 cable. 3 came on. 4 tops. I can't possibly imagine I'm overloading the line.
Help please?
Do you have any kind of network wire tester? I use them on mine to check if line is bad. I have ran a 50ft cable with no issue on bitcoin mining. Have not tried 100ft myself but as long as wire is ok I can't think it should have a issue. 3 on the same line work fine, switching cables doesnt help, they came online temporarily than dropped off.

I suspect the cat 5 cable or the switch . there is a way to cheat do a 50 foot run to a switch then a second 50 foot run to a switch. acts like a signal booster. if you are in the usa amazon sells a 50 footer cheap

I think you might want to try some simple experiments to help isolate the problem. 1) Start with all miners powered OFF. 2) Turn on one, and wait at least for a minute to see how well it does. If it fails, you might want to consider a different port on the switch, or a different cable. 3) Once you have one working well, add one more and repeat. I think eventually you'll find a pattern to what works and what doesn't. You might also find that you need to sequence the turn on of the SP20's though, there isn't heavy Ethernet traffic. You might also consider looking at the lights at the switch end to see if they are all the same. They won't tell you anything about legitimate IP setup, but they will tell you about about a dead port or cable. Any chance your power cables didn't get reconnected correctly after the move? I am assuming you had all 6 working at the same time prior to the move? What was their network connectivity and power setup prior to the move? What parts were added along the way? Static IP address in any of the miners?

How would I go about splitting hash to different pools with each sp20?
edit: For example, if I have 1300gh total, would it be possible to send 300 to one pool, and the other 1000 to a different pool?

Just out of curiosity, did you buy all the short cat5 cables or did you make them yourself with a crimper? I had problems after a certain amount of SP20's were on one switch, and it had to do with my ethernet pairings being wrong (I had forgotten to swap the White/Blue and White/Green wires). Racked my brain trying to figure that one out. I'm assuming you're talking about the status LED's on the front of the miner, and not the ethernet activity ones here. If you check the manual, when it boots up and flashes quickly between yellow and green, that is typically recovery mode. It is what happens when you insert a recovery SD card in and allow it to boot, I'm not sure why it would do this spontaneously though.

Well I have them on blade center psus 2800watts, two sp20 per psu. Lots of power 60 amp circuit, plenty of power.
Same switch and ethernet cables as were inside. I can get four online, number 4 always drags ass. and 5 and 6, no matter which psu, ethernet cable etc. the last two I power on, (doesnt matter which two) will not connect I had access over the miner page for a short while, they never started mining.
Could a damaged ethernet cord cause this? Allowing 4, but more than that is bogging down the damaged cable?

Do you have another switch you could try? Is the switch they are plugged into connected to another switch via the 100ft cable or does it connect to your router? Perhaps there is a duplex issue between the 2 network devices.

direct to router it's the exact same setup. I just took out a 50' and put in a 100' and moved them further away. so I'm thinking, MAYBE damage to the 100 foot cable? I have a rocket hub coming form my cell phone company, as I'm on weak internet on a farm, that I will be installing above my miner's so they will have their own dedicated link. I just hope a bunch of miner's don't each much for data

If you switch the cables around on the switch does it make a difference on which devices work? Maybe a few of the switch ports got zapped or pins bent or something? Is the switch gigabit or 10/100 and what's your router ports speed? The miners should not use much bandwidth for data, so I wouldn't worry about that.

all 10/100
Doesnt seem to matter the ports but tomorrow I'll do some more testing. they light up
A 5th one popped online. So it does seem like it's a damage to the cable, BW being throttled. Maybe it got stretched or pinched.

Are you able to to hard set the ports to 100/full on both the switch side and router side or is it auto-negotiating? Sometime you get some weird 100/half negotiation happening between the devices. Maybe try a reset of your switch. Also, do your SP20's have static IP's or using DHCP?

Here's an odd thought. Maybe the little wall wart for the Ethernet switch is damaged or failing in someway. If the Ethernet switch works fine with on N-3 ports working, maybe it's a power problem for the Ethernet switch.

Hey guys ! Forgot to also update my RMA status here.
So RMA is closed, and I payed for shipping and they also replace one of my board that add a short on ASIC 0 that would also not allow me to mine with the ASIC 1. So they changed that board with a faulty one that only have a bad ASIC 0 which allow to mine with the ASIC 1 and also free of corrosion. The other blade will be as is.
This should ship today.
Thanks to Spondoolies for this.
Appreciated.

Thanks in Canada. I thought about doing that, right now, I have four online with green leds blinking rapidly, No access over ip. So it's got to bed the damn wire. The switch worked before the move, but I'll pickup another. Getting sick of these things, about time to just sell them and move on.

One of my 4 SP20e recently behaves curiously.
They miner were shut down for about 4 days. I just plugged out the ethernet cables. Since yesterday I put them on again. 3 Started without any issues. One of them keeps rebooting. It seems that it finishes booting, but it somehow cant connect to the network. I already changed the ethernet cable but it wont help. When booted, the green LED is blinking fast. It starts with the same noise fan as I saved it too, but it doesnt mine. It also wont show up in myminer.io.
I dont know what to do?
Also I dont have a SD card here right now..

Hows it going HerbPean? Im at 816 hrs downtime so far
After a month of back & forths - Apr 16, 10:50
Dear Ed,
We have reviewed your situation (DOA board was DOA) and would like to resolve the issue with your machine by sending you a fully tested SP20. This will save going back and forth (816hrs) about the different parts.
I know you already sent the management board. Please ship the machine back to us at our cost and we will send you a new machine.
Anyone wanting to buy a 'new' SP20E sent direct from Israel, I may be able to accommodate. (SP-T permitting)
If SP-T would prefer to 'buy it back', that is also preferable.
If you want I would take it. Obviously we would need to discuss price . Many are available under 480 usd on ebay. Sp-tech has sent a lot of them to my home and I have a good relationship with them. I now have a place with very good power price so I could use it.

Mine is shipped, had to pay for the Shipping tho (at my lost) but the changed one of my board, still have a bad ASIC on it but it's better then the one I had (couldn't use 2 ASIC). Herb

what were the settings? Were they like .63 volts or lower? It was a DHCP issue with my network I guess. I got the wifi signal repeated by another Asus Router, which is connected via ethernet to the miners. I didnt go lower than .645 in the settings. And that only for the one connected to a cx850 psu. The others were about .67
