to me if i built it and sold it I would call it a 1500 gh miner.
Sponds do play the game of claiming the absolute highest hash rate for their kit (in ideal environments), and as we have seen it has fallen short sometimes when released. I say this having bought SP10s, SP30s a SP31 and now 2 SP20s ... many have been under 'spec' when powered and running (yes 240v). The SP10s have been the most consistent solid miners I have ever purchased ... flat line at 1.4Ths with no deviation for months. The SP20s clocked at full rate are also -10%, but to get best value you have to underclock (as this thread knows), and such easy clocking control is to their advantage in the GUI against others. Sponds have compensated when machines came in under spec, and their customer service is second to none. As ever, do your research, buy wisely and hash away.

i'm actually quite happy with the settings on SP20 at 1.7TH/s - it is slightly overclocked, bit of extra voltage and a bit more of a power draw but it is very capable of 1.7TH/s. When I set it to basic settings on the middle option, it sits at 1648GH/s.. doesn't take an awful lot to get it up... but it's right, they are exceptionally efficient when underclocked.

i'm actually quite happy with the settings on SP20 at 1.7TH/s - it is slightly overclocked, bit of extra voltage and a bit more of a power draw but it is very capable of 1.7TH/s. When I set it to basic settings on the middle option, it sits at 1648GH/s.. doesn't take an awful lot to get it up... but it's right, they are exceptionally efficient when underclocked.
when I purchased I had 0, zip, nada, no, none, nil interest in running these at 1700 or 1600 or even 1500 gh. I had hoped to run 1400 at 900 watts which would be .64 watt per gh. I am running these at 1380-1400gh getting 800 watts which is about .57 watt per gh temps and sound are manageable. So I don't complain personally. I only say for the builders sake listing them as a 1500gh machine that may overclock to 1700 would have been a better choice of advertisement. I have 4 and may get 1 to 3 more by next week.

Balls to the wall with a monster 2000 watts PSU on 240V I can get 1600 GH/S. I might get more when the temp drops down to 0 here in Colorado.

In the SP20, I guess lots of people had been expecting something akin to the SP10 - which was an astounding miner in all senses and if it were a movie, would win all the oscars. I will be reverting my SP20 back to downclock today as i want to give it as much life as possible - and it's going to be going south to my free leccy unit sometime over the holiday period. The unit is not mine so I have to share some hashrate with the guy who owns it and when the SP31 arrives, i'll probably just set the SP20 to mine for him. It is, depending on how you set it, probably the most efficient miner money can buy. Anyone know anything more efficient? looking forwards to seeing what my SP31 can do.

downclocked again.
where I was running at 1.73TH/s using full power (drawing ~1200w), i have now limited to ~700w and getting 1.35TH/s doing the calculations which matter... i'm now saving in excess of £41 per month in electric and only losing ~390GH/s.
1 x SP20 2 x S3+ total--psu--draw 1410w
@ 11.4p/kWh
=
£115 per month
And at current BTC price, at full power i'd be mining £31 worth of BTC more, so a saving in real terms of £10 per month and also, most likely, giving more life to the miner.

so you are getting under .53 watts this is very interesting it would allow for me to run 9 sp20's 2 on each of my 3 evga's 1300 g2 = 6 x 600 3600 watts and 6 x 1.12th = 6.72th 2 on my evga 1600 p2 = 2 x 600 1200 watts and 2 x 1.12th = 2.24th 1 on my seasonic 1200 p = 1 x 800 800 watts and 1 x 1.40 th = 1.4th 5600 watts 10.36th rate of 0.54 watts a gh going to look into this idea raskul I may order some more soon

okay it is pretty easy if you are an old school miner and you did gpu's this is a heavy duty under clock copy the settings and see if you do about 1210gh

Today I am taking under clock to the bottom for one reason> to see if 2 sp20's run solid and easy on a stud psu. The psu is the evga 1600 p2. the answer is piece of fucking cake. two sp20s' running connected to the stud evga 1600 p2 seeing these numbers makes me want to see if I can do 1150 watts and 2300 gh. with 2 on the evga 1600.
If I can this means the evga 1300 may be able to run 2 sp20s' !!!!!!the psu evga 1600 p2 five sp20's and 2 s-3's under the moving blanket. note 3 s-3's to the far left using 1 evga 1300 g2 THE MONEY SHOT 1351 watts on the meter 2 sp20's pushing 2470gh !!! 1351 watts is a safe load for a 15 amp usa circuit !! and a safe load for the 1600 watt evga p2

I have 3 s-3 on my evga 1300 G2 they do 1470 gh at 1215 watts. Set to freq 243.75
If I can do 2 sp20's and get 2300 gh for 1215 watts that would be a huge improvement.

Yes I have gone a bit lower I am now doing 1266 watts and 2400gh on the evga 1600 p2 I have an issue these super low settings have made warning lights on my asic's. It means I may have reached the lowest they can go. I am waiting for the tech on the main thread to answer my question on this issue.

It is but I did not want to do multiple posts . I am kind of excited as I think I may be able to run 2 of these on an evga 1300 g2 safely . this really makes these a great upgrade. For now two are stable at 1266 watts and about 2400gh I will run this over night due to the warning on the asics low freq . I am a bit afraid to go lower until the sp tech says it is okay

I would like to get a few of these to replace some of my aging gear. It is just hard to justify the cost and shipping because I am going to be done mining before the summer hits. This summer was a bitch in Alabama and I am not sweating it out again.

A few of mine are, but the units are stable. yes if you go too high for temps you get yellow if you go too low for freq you get yellow. now i really hope this is not a problem as two sp20's are on the one evga 1600 p2 at 1266 watts. It is an easy fix to go up to 1350 watts as the evga 1600 p2 and my 15 amp usa power circuit can do 1440 watts 24/7/365 but if it is a problem my hope to run 2 on an evga 1300 g2 will be done. I am going to proceed slowly with the next test.
