I have lowered fans to 15 via ssh

this was taught to me by the legend goxed  in his review thread

I have 2 of my six doing this speed.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=900307.0

I used root 192.168.x.xxx
then root for password

>snip images<

What is the wattage at the wall-to me your setup looks like maybe 561w (for 1240GH!!!), this is like 0.45w/Gh

nearly as good as my SP31  Grin

hey, why don't you post your SP31 settings picture as Phil was doing (or it never happened for 0.45w/Gh  Smiley)

sure, i was just curious-wanted to know what sp30/31 can do in this department.
BTW, I calculated that SP20 makes more money (about $10 more) per month at 561w/1240Gh setting than at 1100w/1500GH setting assuming 10.5c/kwh (with everything included)-this is what I currently pay.

Let's see whether this setting by Phil will prove to be stable...are yellow marks on frequency worrisome or could be safely ignored?

low yellow is okay.  my marks are under.

 high yellow not okay

I have 2 machines on the 15 fan.  one is clocked lower then the other.

I am excited in that I think I can order more machines and be able to run them quietly on fan setting 15 for JAN FEB MAR maybe APR.

1 little price bounce in btc to 400 usd and I will roi by Feb 1

The higher clock is still solid after an hour

What is the wattage at the wall?
To me your setup looks like maybe 561w (for 1240GH!!!), this is like 0.45w/Gh-Incredible.

From the screenshot, the wattage at the board level is 152+153+153+173=631. At the wall it'll be more like 700-750 watts, depending on PSU.

You are probably right (I thought so too initially), but I am not sure where the correct watt usage is displayed.
For example, in the lower left it displays both GH and wattage as well and it reads 505W there, so I assumed 505/0.9=561

I think that W value is at the chip level, so there's lots of other losses between the PSU output and the chip input that aren't shown. The 4 wattage numbers up top are closer to the PSU, so add those up and /.86 gets my at-wall wattage.

Still can't not find my sound meter but  with 2  fans at 15 and 4 fans  at 20

It is not bad . Still do not think it works in a room you hang out in.   But a side room it works.

okay I have a kwatt  meter on this one
643 watts at the meter using an evga 1300 g2  now this is my  meter that runs a little low

643/1235 = .52  and fan at 15       so bump to 660 / 1235 = 0.53   and you are in that range  this mean a good 750 or 760 watt psu may run 1 of these.

some more shots of this one miner

this is 2 sp20's  on a evga 1600 p2 this meter runs a little high  very fuzzy photo sorry

how is noise at 15%?

for me with all 6 sitting in an attached garage it works well.
It is about 6 am here in Jersey I just woke up and went down to my den I have the garage door open to the den and the noise is pretty good.

My bedroom is above the garage and it is not that easy to hear the gear.

Of course you need heavy down clock to make it work.  630 watts and 1200gh  in a 85f temp garage

with 6 at 630 watts garage is 85f . and I don't over heat  the gear.  1 is at 15 .   5 are at 20.

we need new firmware with a 10 and a 15 setting with lots of warning that 10 and 15 settings need to be with really low under clocks.

ones with under 650 watts spent.
