I never saw the point of having separate coins for the same thing when we all want the same thing. Why compete against one another when you could join and be stronger together ? The size of this thread tells us it is what people want.

I would imagine because, though there are other weed coins, none are doing anything in LA. Other coins have different locations. I believe the point of this thread is too help each other out.

I want to get a marijuana DAO $MDAO going on. It will be the same as TheDAO $DAO. We submit proposals for how to make $MDAO holders a return. Then they vote which one to do.

I might be wrong but I think there is a 0.0000001% chance we can use TheDAO to raise funds. I believe it is controlled by Ethereum. Projects must get white-listed. Only projects that help Ethereum will get white-listed. Ethereum also controls marketing for it and they hold a massive stake in it. They pretty much control which projects get funds.
Whatever we do we need to sell the story to investors. We need people to be out in public, in magazines, at conferences and doing video interviews. Ethereum did a good job with this. They took out a $150,000 loan for their team to travel the world selling people on the idea. Then they raised money. Now it is even more expensive to promote crypto stuff because other people are figuring out this secret sauce to raising funds.
If we can build up a network of users through out all the crypto hot spots then we can maybe get all this promotion stuff done for cheap since we wouldn't have to be flying around the world.

If you are bagholding an ICO coin where the developer left it would make more sense IMO to cut the losses and focus effort on something that everyone can truly work together on. This isn't criticism of the idea, it's just that I don't understand it.

In my opinion, Myriad's approach to today is the best. The ranks "x" claim that they are more fair than something like scrypt, but, as can be seen from the figure above, I do not think they are.

I don't see this store idea benefiting any one coin over any other coin. What it will do is bring in more users, supporters & developers who like marijuana and never knew cryptocoins were a serious thing.

I agree with you that forming a coalition and pooling connections and helping each other grow would be most optimal. But (and there's always a but) my sense of the matter is that the coins that are leading the pack don't want to help the smaller coins because they're getting much less out of the deal than the smaller coins, which have a ton to gain by that.

 I also think another factor at play is the image of the coin. At Motacoin, our branding is very important and carefully crafted, so we wouldn't necessarily want to partner with some of sloppy coins thrown together having a generic weed symbol slapped on it and taken live. While we are indeed open to partnering with some of the coins in this sphere, there also a number that we would rather not be associated with.

With that being said, regardless there should definitely be more talks between the leadership of fellow weed coins brainstorming at the very least ways for us all to benefit and grow.

So, I will officially put it out there that we're at least open to being apart of coalition talks.

Let's start reaching out and taking steps to put this together. This is the time for us to shine!

We're certainly our own chain, we're moving along very quickly. The level of interest we're seeing is mind blowing! We're going to be announcing partnerships we've formed over the next couple weeks!
Our project is very simple to understand, even if you aren't savy with crypto. A few of our partnerships are with companies that are new to crypto!
We're already making waves getting the non-crypto people interested!
