Qora is a new 2nd generation cryptocurrency designed from the ground up to solve uᴉoɔʇᴉq’s biggest problems while also adding new promising features.
Qora is being built from scratch and will not rely on any other crypto-currency.
Qora uses a new proof-of-stake algorithm making it future-proof.
Qora is being developed in Java and relies on native C libraries to perform the most CPU intensive tasks.
Qora relied on an IPO for initial distribution of the supply. The total amount of Qora in existence is 10'000'000'000 (10 Billion).
One Qora has 8 digits after the decimal point.

Completed Features
Ed25519 DSA to verify and sign messages.
1-5 minute block time depending on the network activity.
Retargeting every 10 blocks.
Deterministic and Password protected wallets that can be recovered/generated from seeds.
New Proof-of-Stake algorithm.
A REST API to directly communicate with the client.
Naming Service: allows the user to register a key-value pair which can be used for various purposes (URLS, addresses, …).
This Naming Service will also include an exchange where users can buy and sell keys.
Voting System: Allows voting inside the client to make community decisions such as which feature will be implemented next.
Arbitrary Transactions: a simple feature which allows users to send any payload they want over the network.
This can be used by third-parties to build additional features on top of Qora (chat, ...).
Assets: assets with asset/asset trading pairs.

I want again request the chat rooms are shutdown. I appreciate the effort to set them up etc but they spread the conversation all over and hide important stuff that gets said. Plus this coin needs a leader and so we need Qora to post on the thread not hidden in a chat room. This seems petty but I think it's important.

I feel a bit bad for the people with sell orders at 6 sats.  Guess they didn't see this news coming.  Then again, they should have known that with a committed and dedicated dev like Qora that OS would come sooner or later.  Somehow I suspect they'll regret doubting this coin.

Things are moving !!!

AT integration is still in progress and both devs are working together closely for this.
Source code is going to be released in a week.A new moderated thread has been created.
So far we have a few submissions in the form regarding Qora team but it is good enough to establish a team.... and more to come!!!

Yes, I had to close my low bid and just bought at almost twice my bid.  This is good news!

Qora, when you open-source, are you managing the the source tree on github (or other site) and will you accept code contributions, or is this going be a release so that people can make their own mods, for their own needs?  I'd prefer a master branch, managed by someone.  I'll probably implement a SendRawTransaction API call, and I'd like to be able to share it.  Lots of people could use that.

Thanks for the update.  We need your, or some developers, presence to keep up the faith.
