one question towards wallet devs

i see coin pile still split at POS

do u have already a zero user interaction required methode implemented

like a set able value in conf that below that treshhold coin pile dont split when create a POS block?

or even better a mechanism that automatic like in DMD POS split or merge coin pile dynamic based on
coin age and size

at least some methode of remove the work to merge coin pile manual by hand via coincontroll should be added asap

maybe its in already then please explain how it works/ or if needed how i can configure it

This is a good question I think that is a good idea.

I'm not a expert for pos coin but i think the biggest problem is the timetarget for block creation ( 1 min) That
is to much.

And I'm still stuck at the same position as well. Tried the boostrap - failed - and now from the network, failed as well.
After looking around a little, the problem is probably that even if the checkpoint was removed from checkpoint.cpp, it is still referenced in kernel.cpp. Would need to change it in kernel.cpp too. Christian? Smiley

Yes , but i have disable this function in https://github.com/EuropecoinEUORG/EuropecoinV2/blob/Debug/src/main.cpp#L2273 and https://github.com/EuropecoinEUORG/EuropecoinV2/blob/Debug/src/main.cpp#L2210

I' ve just removed the checkpoints in the kernel.cpp.

Okay, trying again with an empty wallet and the bootstrap. Apart from gaining in speed, any difference between loading block from bootstrap vs the network that could cause problems? (sorry for asking questions, I'm a programmer, but I have never invested time and energy into going deeper into the bitcoin details - not enough time).

FYI I passed the checkpoint this time. I'll roll up until today's blocks and then replace the wallet and repair it.

1 min blocktime is no issue

code examples for  configureable combinetreshhold and splittreshhold u will find at this github

https://github.com/Crypto-Expert/HoboNickels

should be a easy adoption in fact

or energycoin for example have this console command (also be able to set as conf parameter)

setstakesplitthreshold [max=5000; min=1000]

Hi!
I have a problem with the  wallet synchronization.
Synchronization unit reaches and stops at block 850241.
I tried to remove all but wallet.dat, but the problem persists.
Again, I deleted all created europecoin.conf:
Code:
daemon=1
listen=1
rpcuser=europecoinfreakingcoin
rpcpassword=iaminyouareout
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
logtimestamps=1
connect=stratum.infernopool.com
addnode=erc.infernopool.com
It got to 254837 block and already hanging day.
Then I modify europecoin.conf:
Code:
##########################################################
# Europecoin Installer 21-04-2016 write Christian
##########################################################
# server=1
# daemon=1
# listen=1
##########################################################
# Nodes

addnode=167.114.224.79
addnode=167.114.224.82
addnode=194.135.92.209
addnode=104.255.33.55
addnode=194.135.93.49
addnode=23.227.190.77
##########################################################
But it does not help too.
How to solve a problem? Thank you.

hy everybody, just came back from customer.
Interesting things are going an here today, its fun with a responsive dev, eh?
Don't stress him too much, i have given him tons of work and some of it is urgent
But your idea is great, it could stop wallets from ninja-staking and rendering QT unresponsive,
in wallets with people, to lazy like me or to newbe to do prober maintenance, correct?
Sounds cool Grin
have fun

it all about have just the nice stuff for the user
(see incoming POS rewards)
and automate all the boring work
(split and merge coin piles)
to optimal utilize ur ERC coins in POS

in fact a user should never be required to activate the advanced feature coin control
that should be as the nae say just for advanced users who love to look at gears while they rotate inside a maschine

every normal user should just get the same POS income without study 2 years POS wallet maintenance

Nice, yes from the user-interface and convenience perspective there is plenty of room for improvement
or more exactly: a long way to go. Did you test  HIS bitsend wallet?
Its amazing

i care more for our ERC wallet Smiley
bitsend is set up in a way that u have to run shitload masternodes so it become rewarding
i like coins when one wallet is enough to get rewarded for ur investement

its good to reward people who have wallet open and support network
its not good if u have to abuse the system and run multiple nodes simultaneous at same PC
to be able compete for masternode rewards
for example dev anounced he need to run 90 masternodes to farm the rewards for the giveaway promotions
i guess its clear to everyone thats not 90 different server supporting the network

but its ERC thread here so lets stop that Wink
his devskill is very welcome
his coin might be interesting for some
maybe even me if some coin specs adapted but not now

Hello fans,

following steps helped me:

BEFORE EVERY BEGINNING, please be all sure, to have ur privkey! You know, how to dump?
The privkey is the last possibility to save coins!

Now move on:

1. close your wallet
2. rename wallet.dat in wallet.old
3. deinstall everything from the win/programm/Europecoin folder. You will find a file    called uninstall. press and wait
4. go to roaming folder and delete everything except wallet.old
5. download the installer from walletrelease 2.0.2.4.
6. install and open ur wallet.
7. close ur wallet
8. replace ur new wallet.dat with ur wallet.old and rename it in wallet.dat
9. open ur wallet AND
10. wait
11. wait
12. wait

I waited over 2 hours, before my wallet began to sort the chain, but it went!

In my special cause, I went to RPC console and typed walletrepair before I installed the new wallet.

Be sure, that you really deinstalled everything, before you install from new.

Woody, tell me ur success!

Steve

P.S.: I saw it already, our very very hard working dev from bitsend, already tests new wallets! https://bitnodes.net/node/104-255-33-55/ You see the version 2.0.2.5 in some nodes! Wink

Good news, wallet synced and staking like hell.
But the repair wallet "lost" 3600 ERC (with no real explanation about what happened). Would that be because these coins were mined/retrieved in a bad fork?
I guess it would be good to generate a new exe from the current source to avoid the problem about that checkpoint for people who want to sync from scratch as I did...

as i understand they working already on next wallet that will be able sync from zero
regarding ur "lost" coins as u stated they where just minted in a fork
u lose nothing u get back the coin age at repairwallet and u can mint them again
