I guessed right . People need to keep in mind timezones. Once China was awake they set what ever stopped the sales back in motion . Honestly I could be better at it. But looking at other countries times, and holiday's is a smart thing to do if something is wrong. Just as a general rule.

When I first purchased my S5 the hardware errors were very low (circa 100 in 24 hours) and as time has gone by the amount of errors has risen considerably as noted in the attached image. First of all, is that amount normal/safe? And secondly, I know hardware does degrade over time but I've always kept mine in the 45-60C temperature range so I'm curious to know whether it's common for miners to degrade after a period of say 6 months to a year? Any help/info on the matter is appreciated https://i.imgur.com/Vrq4cVG.jpg

Yes that's perfectly fine, its 0.005% of shares, ie 1 in 20,000. And secondly, I know hardware does degrade over time but I've always kept mine in the 45-60C temperature range so I'm curious to know whether it's common for miners to degrade after a period of say 6 months to a year?
While we don't have much historical data, if they get past the first month then the majority of stable hardware will outlast its utility for the most part.

at this point in time if you dont already have any dont buy any. nothing you can buy right now will make you any profit. even if you dont pay for power its still not worth it. if you are absolutlely set on getting a bitcoin miner, you can find a used s3 cheap.. they are usually around 70$. a s3 will net you just over 1.10$ per day at stock speeds. keep in mind it uses about 370 watts at the wall.. so you are looking at a cost of .88 cents per day at .10c per KWH.

BS The S5 does generate a profit. I have bought 3 and ROI on ~1.5 already. I do not compare to dollars only to BTC. I bought one in January and two more in early March. I pay 9.2 cents per KWH for juice too. If you are using them inside they are loud unless you mod them with fans but you give up your warranty when you mod. My earnings from AntPool as of right now are 2.25 BTC but I have earnings from a variety of other pools too that would bring the total to ~2.9 BTC. Too lazy to go dig them all up. All 3 are still in great working order so I could cash out on eBay and have a tidy profit. Good luck.

All 3 are still in great working order so I could cash out on eBay and have a tidy profit. Good luck. lets do some math here.. 1 S5, cost for me to have shipped, 388$.. todays price that is 1.597 BTC 1 S5, on the most luckiest pool will earn 0.01214 per day or 0.3642 per month at stock freq. so, with NO POWER COST it will take you, 131 days to get your btc back.. you say you have 9.2c power costs.. so now we are looking at.. a COST of $36.48 PER MONTH.. now we are going to factor in a cost of btc per usd at 250.. altho its been lower than that.. so thats a power cost of 0.14592 BTC PER MONTH.. so our ROI of 131 days turned into 223 days.. since every 14 days or so the difficulty is going up.. we have gotten lucky the last few times but you cant guarantee that.. we are looking at 16 difficulty increases.. so say even if they are 3% it would significantly lower your monthly rewards and increase your ROI also i didnt factor in a power supply.. a good 80+ gold psu will set you back about 100$. so i guess if you buy a s5 right now, and you have no problems with it and it runs stable 24/7 you will be ok. even upwards of around 11c per KWH. factoring in 10c per KWH the difficulty point where it starts costing more then it makes is. for the s5 is around 106000000000 and for the s3 its around 65000000000

His idea of a profit might be the Problem if you watch numbers to much it does stress you, is all i can think, I know mine have made me some thing on all three and one S3 and some rentals on the side 6 btc sense Jan mine don't all ways run 24/7, I actually turn off one or two to save on power for a few days. I could Polly make more !!! . I got my first s5 at the end of Jan this year . I could Polly sell all three on ebay then buy some BTC and go buy a s4 + and still have some cash left or enough to get another s2 or s4 used not a S4 +, if I wanted to but I'm very happy with my S5's. + my S5 are very quite or quite enough you could all most sleep in the same room wth them , i won't thu for health reason .

They dry tested every single pump at first. That was their test procedure. It would shave plastic even so they released how to clean out this plastic eventually. But I was ordered very first of batch one. One died in less then 24 hours, other died in 48 and with power sparking. They did 3 different rigs to get electricity as the first 2 designs were horrible. 3 was ok but used a PCI-e spot. But this is why we will not see a C2 in my opinion. And not to hijack thread back to S5.

I'd really like to see the successor to the S5 come with a lower CFM fan, or possibly with multiple fan options. The S5 uses up to 260 CFM for 590 W, or 0.44 CFM/W, heating the incoming air by about 4.8°C before spitting it out. In comparison, the SP30 uses up to 300 CFM for 3000 W, or 0.1 CFM/W, heating the incoming air by about 25°C before spitting it out. It's much easier to build a datacenter around 0.1 CFM/W than around 0.44 CFM/W. If you're using air conditioning, the higher SP30 exhaust temperature improves the efficiency of the A/C unit. If you're using free air cooling, it reduces the amount of air you need to filter and pre-cool and improves the efficiency of any heat exchangers you're using.

Even if they don't have two fan's it could always be added. Granted if it's designed with a case that covers on all sides it will be more effective. My biggest thing I want to see even better electric efficiency. For it to run less hot would be nice, but i hope they focus on efficiency overall.
