I guess I will wait until hopefully new wallet comes out.  I just can't get myself to install a wallet that comes up that dirty, not knowledgeable enough to know for sure they are all false.

totally agree, my wallet was dogey as hell, switching itself off and different glitches  Sad

Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

What are your wallet issues everyone, network issues such as 0 connections, unstable wallet, etc.
If anyone is willing, you can e-mail me your debug.log files at videlicet8@gmail.com, this way I can see what internally is happening on nodes experiencing issues Smiley

I dont know what ya'll be talking about..

Antivirus False Positives are a known thing with many wallets.

Many AV programs will even interfere with wallets. I run a separate VM with all my wallets in one place - and I do not run an antivirus there for that reason. I've seen wallets not sync because of that. Windows Defender seems to be a good option as it still offers protection but does not interfere with wallets.

About wallet sync issues prior to V2.1- yea in the beginning there were some sync issues, after update to v2.1 everything is running like clockwork, no sync issues, constant POS (every 15-30 min on average).

I suppose I can only answer this for myself.  Yes, I too am quite used to seeing false positives as I have been playing in this arena for a while now myself.  What my personal experience has gotten me to "get used to" is seeing 1 or 2 somewhat obvious false positives, such as those that reference some sort of bitcoin miner.  In the beginning this was all I saw personally and they always seemed to reference something regarding a miner.

What I have not become accustomed to or used to, is seeing so many false positives in a single wallet and all referencing Trojans and nothing referencing anything to do with miners.  I also will admit this is not my area of expertise as I know it is also not for your typical crypto user.......I have no idea how to determine without question what is a false positive or a real problem!  Throw on top of that the fact that there are probably hundreds of viruses trying to be pushed around here in crypto land everyday.....seems enough to be much more than cautious.

Seeing the number of supposed false positives with this wallet and the references being given for those supposed false positives is a pretty scary thing to see for someone who cannot determine for sure that they are in fact ALL false positives!!  I do understand and actually believe these are almost certainly false positives, but am I really gonna risk that for a wallet that holds $10 worth of coins?

I had another similar experience with another wallet a few weeks back I think it was, it was with MEU.  He released an updated wallet with IRC built in and when checked with VirusTotal, it came up very similar to this......in fact I think it was coming up with like a dozen infections.  I brought up the same point there as well.......no way a newbie or non tech savvy person who scans this wallet is going to install it as is.

He came out with a new wallet a week later with no miner (I think it was) in it and scanned COMPLETELY clean.  Ultimately this WILL create a loss of losers so personally I think it best to give the option to those that don't want to risk it, a wallet that will scan clean.....in this case it sounds like possibly the IRC is causing this to happen.  I could care less about having IRC built into a wallet and I am pretty sure most people would feel the same and would much more prefer to have a wallet they KNOW is clean and free of any possibly bugs that can cause them loss or problems.

BTW, I use MSE on all my machines and have never had any issues with it interfering with any of my wallets.

Bro, I haven't followed this project close enough to really reply to that question.  I just came on here a few days ago to if why my wallet was no longer connecting, noticed there was a new wallet and went to install.....did my normal and scanned it.  Just not comfortable installing the wallet to be honest, that's it.  Not a too big a deal for me man as I had no intention of selling any time soon.  I can wait for new wallet releases.

I know people want to hammer about false positives, don't really want to argue the point as I simply won't install a wallet that reports that many infections.

Is anyone having problems with sending transactions?

I sent myself an amount from Bittrex over 12 hours ago... still nothing...

Wallet is fully synced.

Anyone know whats going on ?

I opened a ticket about a SCSY deposit issue and they stated they could not get the wallet synched, support ask me for nodes and I provided it to them.  Should be ok after they synch it up as my deposit came through just a bit ago.

New wallet released: (still v.2.1)

I decided to leave users decide whether to install a wallet detected as Trojan or not.
Hence, i have built a wallet without IRC. the result on Virus Total is 0/57 (this means no virus detected).

Also, i added checkpoint @ block 130,000 and fixed a minor issue. GitHub repository has been updated as well.

Good call, seems fairly conclusive as to the origin of the alerts.

(I'm in two minds about the UI advantage of an in-wallet IRC chat facility. SCSY re-uses a pre-existing implementation which is very basic, offers less functionality than a basic dedicated IRC app and has rather an off-putting initialisation bug that obliges users to be tolerant of a temporarily-scrambled rendering. I find myself wondering how many people actually use the tab to interact with IRC in preference to using one of the many IRC-specific apps. I get the sense that you're either familiar with IRC and a moment's use of the tab will prompt you to abandon it in favour of an actual IRC app or you're unfamiliar with IRC and the limitations of the app can then become overwhelmingly negative.)

Cheers

Currently, the IRC implementation uses a pre-existing code, very basic as you said. IRC in wallet purpose is give to people a fast way to contact team developers (or members as well), indeed it is linked with our slack channel..you may call it "fast support"..so, actually, taking a part the UI bug (something to fix, you are right here), the IRC tab has all what users needs.. or, at least, it has all what we want give to users. Also, we could even replace IRC with a Slack integration through APIs in wallet, but Slack is invitation-based so it would be "selective".. while a "support channel" must be absolutely not-selective, open to everyone.

After this premise, IRC in wallet is a great feature in our opinion. It'll be updated in a near future to give a better user-experience and to fix that UI bug. However, for our goals for the in-wallet -IRC, there's no need to waste time in implement from scratch a complete IRC application, neither im familiar with IRC or not. However, thank you for your comments/critics. You will be contacted to test the IRC updates/fixes once they're ready.. Smiley

Cheers
