Time to hit Exchanges (if so): ~30 minutes

-edit- 1 confirmation ETA ~20 min

That will be some major slippage!  Wink  Probably selling now would make sense, but I'm going to hold tight because I'm in for the long haul...

On the bright side, this guy just transferred 1M valued in USD and it cost him 0.01022427 BTC or about 10 cents.  Beat that, banks!

Wrong. It costed a big fat zero.
The 0.01022427 value is the change lol

Oh this is so great, I love it! Who ever is in possession of those 100k BTC could just erect the tallest ASK wall bitcoin has ever seen and scare everyone back down further than he ever could by selling it into the order book. Smiley Great cinema

Oh boy here we go. I'm transferring my BTCs to Mt.Gox, to sell when the panic starts (and buy at bottom).

Assuming this is pirate's treasure chest, which seems not too unlikely:

Surely he wouldn't go directly from 1DkyBEK to the exchanges?

If the 100k was suspected to be pirate money, and therefore likely the proceeds of criminal fraud,
wouldn't Gox and company hit the breaks immediately and freeze any involved accounts?

EDIT: Foreshock detected on the seismograph. This could be a big one.

I dont think they ever did that in the past (with Pirate). Would be nice if someone could do some forensic research on that

Talk about a huge transfer of BTC...

Oh Loaded, who art up in Mt. Gox, hallowed be thy name!  Thy dollars rain, thy will be done, on BTCUSD.  Give us this day our daily 10% 30%, and forgive the bears, as we have bought their bitcoins.  And lead us into quadruple digits

I don't think it would be reasonable for Gox at this point to freeze the funds. If it is Pirate, he could be trying to suppress the price to buy enough coins to pay back investors. Now, if Pirate sells all those and tries to make a $1000000 wire withdrawal, then it might be time to freeze the funds.

Now I suppose to ask, will the price plummet due to so much released on the system at once or will people buy up these coins at a relatively "low" price, given the past couple months?

Wallet for that address still shows over 400,000 in reserve o.O.
Must be nice to be that guy.

I believe he don't want so sell (all of) them. He want to push the price down to buy cheap.

Does anybody even have any evidence the coins were sent to an exchange?  Or are you all just trading on wild speculation?  If the latter, enjoy your loss.

I'm not sure either.

Which is why my trading stays based on technical analysis as opposed to a forum rumor about bitcoins moving.

If true, makes sense, if he's Pirate.

Theory:
1. Run Ponzi
2. Amass huge warchest
3. Crash market using warchest
4. Snap up all the coins you need to pay out all investors in Ponzi
5. Profit!
