Well right now I'd wait for the next bubble to pop. I believe if we achieve to reach or slightly surpass the previous ATH, it's not that far-fetched to wait for a new and potentially much higher one. We're still in a long-term exponential growth phase, if you ask me!

if it TRULY goes to 1000 again, it will very likely not do a double top, it has never done that

it would break through the previous high so that one would be well advised to hold until the next fibonacci levels are reached

try yourself at http://www.mypivots.com/investment-calculators/fibonacci-calculator

and use the top/bottom, around 1000-1100 and 150-160, to determine targets

Does anyone really think Bitcoin will break $1k anytime soon? Do we have another China/Gox bot situation about to happen?

There is always a possibility of some huge hacker attack aimed at some leading exchange. If something like that would happen bitcoin price will once again reach $200. Without any sudden and bad news we are on the good path. But thinking about reaching $1000 now it just a little too much. Not when $300 threshold is yet to be reached.

New companies and VC money entering the market is great news but we really need a bunch of new users buying consistently or a lunatic huge exchange operator with a bot jacking the price up.

...

I started into the BTC world after BTC had backed off its all time highs (over $1000), I started slowly buying at around $700 and having been buying more on the way down.  For the moment I have no plans to spend them.

That would change if BTC goes back up to $1000 or even above its earlier all-time highs.  I will mention below what I will likely do further below, but here is a chance to tell people WHAT you would do with some or all of your BTC if we have a BIG price rise within, say, the next year or two:

If BTC goes to $1000 or more, what would you do?

1) Buy gold!

2) Look for a good investment in the BTC community

3) Very possibly hoard the rest

Your number 3 seems not good for me. Smiley
I will probably sell everything.

Everybody here seems to forget about Willie (Mt.Gox trading scandal).

Can I remind everyone that 1000$ was a fake manipulated price?

Having said this, I still believe that BTC will go way beyond 1000$ but I still don't know what to do with it.

I don't have that many, right now it will not change my life.

Very close to me accept i will be able to buy my first home with some change left over for improvements and a party Smiley That will be epic and to be honest a dream come true, are we just wishful thinking or do we believe there is a chance for it to go back to $1000 or more because last time it was just a corrupt exchange pumping?

No, not soon. Coinbase may be a few steps away from becoming the ignorant asses that may just prove to be the next mt.gox.
After all the problems that user's are having I can imagine it happening soon.

Given all the people in the world im sure some groups are eyeing up a way to jack the price up, seems inevitable doesnt it? Whats the alternative nobody takes a punt and it just dies? The foundations have already be laid and we been up past $1k before, it wont be a shock.

I wouldn't recommend selling all your bitcoins, if the price hits $1000 naturally, I can imagine it going higher very quickly.

If it reaches $1000 I would liquidate everything and quit because next thing you know it could be at $100 next week but it could go to $10000 next year so yeah whatever floats your boat.
