I think the next bubble will top about $2500 or more, so I won't do anything at $1000. At next bubble top (which I'll try to pinpoint) I'll sell about 10-25% of my holdings.

If bitcoin goes to $1000 better for you to sell rather than burst and drop again to 200. Many investor must sell all his bitcoin when it touch $1000 and then they will buy lower then 1000 again and start to invest again. It wont raise again till $2500 may be in a couple of years after that

returns to the previous bottom, two times in a row? seems unlikely, it would mean that bitcoin is 100% manipulated...if we reach 1k again it won't be because of willy bot this time, therefore the price is likely to remain around that amount, and not falling again at current value

I think there is chance where bitcoin will drop significantly after it hit 1k because bitcoin always in a volatile and the market always play their price plus many people will sell it when it hit 1k and it seems there will be enough chance back into current price again

I think the bitcoin developers need to develop.

The big boys are still innovating and competing and Bitcoin is remaining unchanged. That's a formula for failure. Look at this forum as a prime example of "if it's broken don't fix it." The foundation, Gavin, or someone had better find a reason for consumers to use bitcoin or this ship is going nowhere.

They should ask themselves what would Satoshi do if he were still around. Never mind - bad idea - he'd just vanish with more coins. lol

I don't hold BTC. I think it's better to hold altcoin and try to compound a move in both when selling for dollars eventually. These days I'm really heavy on casinocoin for example.

Why dont hold btc, but you hold altcoin?
I think its better to hold btc and not altcoin. because altcoin can't up to $1000 or more.
altcon for short term and bitcoin for long term.

Holding altcoins is like intentionally destroying your money. People should know that by now. Bitcoin is the only coin worth holding if you look at its possibilities.

Hi Guys,

Glad to meet you all here. I'm a newbie from Malaysia.
Knowing the fact the price dropped at end of 2013, I believe it will come back to its glory days.
If it hits $1000 or more, I might sell 1/3 and probably get involve in the mining platform.
So next plan is to earn 1000  BTC by end of this year... Wink

Some developers moved to MIT. Can they develop bitcoin there?

this is true only today, last year holding some altcoin(jackpotcoin for example or the first x13/x15 coin), would bring to you plenty of money, now is just who dump first

if everyone will do this it will never reach 1k, because a constant pressure like that would cause to fall at 200 even harder than when it was with willy both

Everyone that isn't a nerd or of a certain ideology is just buying Bitcoin to speculate with the hope of it going higher in the future. Everyone wants to make gains.

Definitely want to offload all or as much BTC as much if it hit $1000. But the good question is when? and will it really go up to $1000 again?

$1000 would be a tough barrier to break through. It it hit $1000, I'd definately sell. It might go higher, but I doubt that it would go much higher.

I bet the Winklewii won't sell even a single bitcoin at $1000.

There's no reason for bitcoin to stop at $1000 once it breaks $500. When it crosses $500 there will be so many new buyers wanting to get in that the price will be rising faster than during the last spike in November 2013.

I agree that the next rise could go way past $1k but there will still be a lot of selling pressure at the $1k price mark because of psychological barrier and those who bought in on the last $1k+ rise (those smart enough to hodl) will want to get out of the red fast will probably sell some coins.

If BTC goes to $1000 or more, what would you do?

It that's gonna happen soon, I will just cry. I will cry because I didn't start earlier to buy in, I will cry because I've spent all I could until now on alts.

...

I started into the BTC world after BTC had backed off its all time highs (over $1000), I started slowly buying at around $700 and having been buying more on the way down.  For the moment I have no plans to spend them.

That would change if BTC goes back up to $1000 or even above its earlier all-time highs.  I will mention below what I will likely do further below, but here is a chance to tell people WHAT you would do with some or all of your BTC if we have a BIG price rise within, say, the next year or two:

If BTC goes to $1000 or more, what would you do?

*  *  *

1) Buy gold!

2) Look for a good investment in the BTC community

3) Very possibly hoard the rest

If BTC goes to $1000 or more, what would you do?

I will seriously do signature campaign like job in real life for bitcoins. And always check any faucets.
Do some task that will pay bitcoin. and dont forget invest to bitcoin if the price increase up to $2000  Grin.
And i will starting learn how to mining bitcoin, because until now i dont know how to mining  Cry
