Latest update from Twitter: The previous BTC balance has been moved to BTC-B which will be used as the reference for 100% compensating our user's BTC loss.I hope they allow BTC-B to be traded. That way those that do not want to wait to be repaid (or do not think they will ever be repaid) can sell their BTC-B to more patient/hopeful people. Do you all think there are any good trading opportunities that can be taken advantage right after trading resumes? Obviously there will be a rush to withdraw all types of coins. Is there any reason people would really want to buy or sell a certain coin after trading resumes?Bter was a good exchange in respect to liquidity, with fast withdrawals and deposits. If they will be able to keep withdrawal and deposit times low, they may have a chance. Though, evidently, they will see hard times lying ahead of them.

Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

They seem to be kidding. I won't get to trading if I'm not able to withdraw my funds at first. And I'm more than sure that I will move my coins elsewhere from bter at the first opportunity, then will wait and see how it all turns out. I will leave some coins on the exchange, and resume trading when things return to normal.

Other exchanges in their situtation has closed the doors and run away.

after Mt Gox and Mintpal, I don't know why people would leave any more than maybe 1 or 2 BTC on an exchange.

Is there any reason people would really want to buy or sell a certain coin after trading resumes? Agree. I have had coins on 7 different exchanges which were hacked or scammed, and I believe BTER will handle this well. I will continue using them if they are around in future. Bter is doing a really GOOD JOB despite all the critics. Other exchanges in their situtation has closed the doors and run away.

I checked my balances and my bitcoin balance is empty, as I expected. It appears that trading has started because there are buy orders for most coins. Has anyone tried trading or withdrawing yet?

So, till now, nothing has actually changed at bter save for colors in the site. Withdrawals are as disabled as they were after the job. The thing I don't understand is what they are hoping for if they aren't really going to run away with the money.

Why would they run away? A-holes stole over 7000 BTC, they will reopen their exchange and people as stupid as they are, will still continue trading at their exchange.

I don't think that a lot of people will use bter.com again, only who have believed at the story of the "hacked cold wallet". However news about the withdrawal?
