These "copied coin" disgust me. Meanwhile, BCY is in freefall... I don't think the project has anything special anymore.
It is not about the coin, it is about the game. Also, where do you see BCY in freefall? I only see it at a stable status. Which is a good thing for the game economy. I think there will be tones of games which will have their own currency. And no one can stop that.

EDS partners with SpacePirate.io | Everdreamsoft just partnered with Spacepirate, the team behind the Age of Rust, and supports their game project initiative.
Age of Rust is a dark/noir-based adventure game staged in an intergalactic post-apocalyptic universe.
The main game fuel in Age of Rust are RUSTBITS, which are Counterparty tokens acting as premium game currency. SpacePirate has just launched its ICO, which has started on June 26th and will end on July 31st. The crowdfunding price is 100 000 RUSTBITS per 1 BTC and bonuses are available now in the early phases.
An exclusive additional bonus of 5% of the purchased amount of RUSTBITS is offered to all SoG blockchain cards holders participating in the sale (even retroactively for SoG cards holders having already bought Rustbits). Just ensure that the Counterparty wallet sending BTC for the Age of Rust ICO is the same one containing your SoG blockcchain cards.
In the future, some Spells of Genesis cards will be playable in this game.

Is there a place to see monthly downloads or active users? Or statistics on network/game activity?
My understanding is that you can buy "Gems" in game using your itunes account, and then buy "random" packs of cards that may or may not include blockchain cards that have a market value. In effect gambling. Does this mean SoG provides a back door for people to acquire crypto with their iTunes acct?
Are there any efforts to develop out a b2b product/service, promoting BCY as a branded content tool for other game studios to leverage?
Then you could just start at the bottom of the 100 highest grossing free-to-play games and work on getting integrations... just a handful of games would significantly amplify the # of users. Considering 14 of the top 20 highest grossing apps on ios are free to play games, this project in pretty interesting to watch.
Thanks for answering questions!

You can see what the Apple and Google store tells you in terms of numbers. Also you can check the game leaderboard to see how many active players. The team does share some updates and milestones on here and on the forum too.

Packs dont include blockchain cards, but backdoor shall open when they release blockchaining of ingame cards (I expect this to be for rare or better cards, if not only for epic or better cards). Backdoor to blockchain stuff I would say, SoG cards are more like commodity than currency by my opinnion, even they can be traded against currencies.

On forum someone monitor weekly how much new people gain different Gold levels. 1k, 10k, 100k, 1m. So by that you can see how many players activity plays. I can tell you that I have perfect cards and play it it daily few times a day and barely stay in top100. With Gems you can buy Stamina. So more playing. More playing can give you gold that you turn in more ingame cards. But there is again luck factor to get god or bad. Easier is to use BCY and buy few good cards.

JUNE 2017 BURN REPORT IS OUT! | Find below the June 2017 BitCrystals Burn Report.
The value in USD of BitCrystals burnt this month is two times higher than last month. Also the BCY rate reached its maximum since September 2015.
Thanks for helping us to reach those results!

Was talking to a fellow bitcoiner the other night and he raised a really good point that BCY should pull a Storj and move BCY to an ERC20 token. The UX and dev community is so much better in ethereum (as a die-hard bitcoiner I can say this), making it much easier to onboard new casual users via the game. The book of orbs is very difficult to use and counter party project isn't well maintained... the need to have bitcoin to use bitcrystal is a total break in the onboard pipeline! Has this been evaluated?

Very bad idea. Ethereum is not scalable, had a network failure, and is going down the drain. Any token or game asset on a bitcoin blockchain is the most secure. No need to create a shitcoin on top of a scamcoin. Also providing a quote from Cloverme at Rustbits (spacepirate) explaining why Ethereum sucks: "There's a couple of reason for sticking with counterparty, the first is that working with Solidity (the language for Ethereum contracts) to manage tokens is still very, very rough, and very difficult to work with programmaticly. It's almost 100 lines of complex code to issue a token in Solidity/Eth whereas in Counterparty, it's about 6 lines of code. In fact, on the Ethereum page itself, it says "The token contract is quite complex". I can appreciate that, Vitalik is a very smart guy, but it's not path I can really take at this point with the game development. There are also some known issues with using Eth tokens that came to light with the Golem project that allows tokens to be transferred with a modified private key."

No need to create a shitcoin on top of a scamcoin. I agree, Ethereum is not a good blockchain to tie our cards to. What will we do when it hard forks again and creates two different chains? The only other blockchain besides Bitcoin that is secure and good enough to use for game assets would be Litecoin in my opinion.

Counterpary is just fine unless Bitcoin gets spam attacks that fills its mempool. This will end. Basically did end already. ETH will in less then half year hit the problem of to fast growth. So they will have way bigger problems then Counterparty. Storj will be sorry for their move. Oh it even rhymes.

I'm 50/50 on the proposal honestly maybe Waves may be a good alternative to both both XCP and ETH are having growing pains when it comes to network scaling and buying and selling the card tokens its been months since any of my orders filled and eventually I just stopped placing them why waste the BTC.

I think what SoG is missing right now is to be more social, ie there should be more rating lists (eg PvP, Challengers), unique badges/avatars granted for the achievements etc and by the way, where are the guilds

Think also waves is a great alternative. It is very user friendly for so far. Think it is also possible to build you're own litewallet with inwallet card trading on the dex. Downloaded the game spells of genesis last week and now my wife and daughters also like the game very much. Downloaded also the book of orbs but it is a little bit hocus pocus to purchase cards. I even don't know if it is connected to the game. If I buy some cards is it automatically possible to see them in the game?

Very good reasons listed plus there's also the fact that soon mobile DEX will be out for Waves and once that hits I have a feeling transaction volume will rise quite quickly. It should at least be considered or be offered as an an option maybe set up a burn address process to exchange XCP cards for Waves cards just my two sats.

I think it's rather costly to move the whole infrastructure (BoO and SoG itself) to all-new blockchains. Afaik XCP developers are busy with making some sort of micropayments system, so why bother to go elsewhere? I could propose a temporary measure - cooperate with ViaBTC or BTC.com (or any other mining pool ready for that) to add counterparty txs to the blocks for the smallest possible fees Maybe co-promotion would be enough to satisfy the mining party of agreement
