Ok. So what's a Havelock now Huh

Forgive my petulance and oft-times, I fear, ill-founded criticisms, and forgive me that I have, by this time, made your eyes and head ache with my long letter. But I cannot forgo hastily the pleasure and pride of thus conversing with you.

So Havelock has not been on here a while, what a joke. It is now obvious that with 169BTC on the B mine shares or a little over 40K they have decided it is time to close up shop. Fucking Scum if you ask me.

...
If we wanted to run away with any of the funds, we wouldn't post anything here and reply to emails or answer the phone.
...

Why not?  Danny Brewster [your ticker: NEOBEE] posted many times after he ran, so did Ukyo Jon and TF.  Since (for some reason) no one expects you to post--why not do it?  I would.
Huh

Full Disclosure:

NotLambchop has visited our office many times before and works for us to make sure all of the Havelock post are kept at the top of the Securities thread. Just look at all his past posts as proof.

Thank you NotLambchop for your hard work and dedication.

/S

I'm glad to be here 4 u in your time of need (totally not laughing, honest Havelock!) to buoy up your spirits!
Keep securing that security, no rush.  These things take time!

  ~Happy Investing!

You mean "visited" our "office"??

Consciousness is a failure of evolution.

Consciousness is also a failure to smack a [potential] bitscammer hard enough... But there you go...   Grin

On the havelock site it's still sunday 19:00.
Think they have their office on the Bahamas. (like some other bitcoin companies)
so they still have some time.

Guess the page is about midday back online. So we have to wait for around 16 hours.

Hey guys.. while the FUD is being slung around, here is something to think about:  Didnt Havelock Investments originally have ties to Cavirtex, before it was sold/relocated to Panama?..  The same Cavirtex that is shutting down because the old hashes from an old database were compromised..incluudincludingding   Want to bet the havelock system ran the same system?

Honestly, if there was even a small chance of cross-over contamination, I would have taken it offline for a security update/audit, for the better good..and fix the issues, cranky FUD people or not.

... Or...your shares are gone.

Happy Trading!

Hoping this isn't a scam scenario. I'd be out the price of a nice dinner with my wife. Sucks, but not the end of the world.

That said, I get the impression that they threw together a bunch of random php code (you can tell a lot by the file names of the pages and by viewing source), and were pleasantly surprised when people actually started using it. The code base is likely full of technical debt, anti-patterns -  and nothing remotely resembling an architecture.

Then the website took off, and they've had their hands full trying to scale the thing (non-trivial when working with lousy code and with a heavy traffic load).

The correct approach would have been to throw the entire code base away two years ago, and rebuild from scratch for scale and security. They would have had the budget to do it correctly then too, which they probably don't have now.

Yes -- in parallel with running the site, not like this.

This was some kind of trading platform then? But not altcoins?

You were able to buy securities with this website. You could get paid dividends by, for example, buying shares in a cloud mining operation.

Thanks, I had heard the name in passing.

Good luck Undecided

im starting to give in to the thought  btc needs regulation to succeed.  humans arent mature enough at this pt . the greed takes over and the darkside reveals  the true character of the individual.

on the flip side of things, if they do come back , it might be the first time in btc history  a small company actually cameback.  on the flipside of that, nobody at this pt would be shocked if they  ran with our shit.
