No it's not, I think bitcoin will dead but not now maybe will 5-20 years from now. Bitcoin not dead but the price gonna decrease as much as bitcoin circulate. It's depend the "big player" decision for sell or hold their bitcoins.

If bitcoin price would fall because of dump by whales it doesn't mean it's dead. If those bitcoins falls into the hands of new investors it would be even better. There's no good if some ''big players'' just hold. It's about the adoption and acceptance by the masses.

Is Bitcoin dead? I think not. Although the value of a Bitcoin has been decreasing, the community is still growing larger (as I see it). The popularity is also growing as the demand grows higher from new businesses accepting Bitcoin. The media is also quickly spreading the word about Bitcoin and newcomers are seeing the benefits of Bitcoin. But of course, not all is well. I think Bitcoin will start to lose its ground due to the countless new altcoins emerging. But that does not mean Bitcoin will die.

No Bitcoin is not dead and will not be dead atleast for next 15 to 20 years. It will decrease its value in coming future of time as new digital currencies will be inroduced into the market but it doesnt mean that bitcoin will disappear.

The state of the bitcoin as in death or alive can be answered with a simple logical formulae: Are you alive? If yes, Bitcoin is alive. And chances are, after you are dead, Bitcoin will still be alive. Therefore, stop worrying about this, and start amassing as much cheap BTC as physically possible.

I don't think that bitcoin is dead nor it will be in the future its only about the insecurity the people has because of the volatile nature of the bitcoin so there is no need to worry atleast for coming years just looking forward to it and hope that community keeps on increasing day by day

Dead, no. But I think Bitcoin will need to fight against other technologies based on the blockchain but more centralized. We can see that banks and Western Union are adopting Ripple. While startups are more into Bitcoin.
well this is a non-issue, because fighting a centralization should not be a problem for bitcoin, seeing how it offer a different system which is decentralized, only another decentralized good coin/stuff would be a real threat for bitcoin i was thinking about a thing, and i finds it a bit funny and sad, because those people that claim "bitcoin is dead", are the same who are waiting for it to fall under double digit to buy a tons of coins...

We must be aware that there is a difference between a circulating currency and a reserve currency.
The Swiss Franc doesn't see many transactions, but has been trusted as a reserve currency. The same role might be played by bitcoin in future.
Unless the foundations of the world economy change, it's hard to see bitcoin being massively adopted for transactions, since its quantity is limited and modern economies (for better or worse) require more injections of money all the time. But that very problem makes it perfect as a reserve currency.
People in many developing countries have no trouble keeping two currencies in their head, one local currency for everyday use and one reserve currency for store of value. With rich world authorities still debasing their money trying to reflate economies seven years after the last crisis, their populations are looking like they should face up to the same issues, soon if not right away.

Not dead. Breathing. Pulsating. Damping with sex power. Alive. Moving earth. Traveling the world on a pair of iron rails. Flying to our natural satellite, pushed by the recoil of matter violently pushed out of a nozzle using a propellant composed by some fuel and an oxidazer.

No bitcoin is not dead. Its rising at a moment and so not to worry for next 10 years but i think it will decrease its value in near future as people will start adopting from different countries and as circulation is more it might loose its value in coming future.

Don't be too greedy and trying to manipulate the price OP
Meh, no interest in crap like that. The only bitcoins I ever got were a few back when you could mine profitably with GPUs, and a few more in exchange for services. Never bought any with real money and don't plan to. What I am interested in is if anyone serious still sees a future in bitcoin, and if so, what they're reasons might be. That's why I started this thread. Haha, thanks for the laugh!

Its just a temporary phase, its still decentralized and that means that any other currency has the potential to come ahead as well,i actually find theses times exciting and volatile, not dead.It is just more people buying out rather than more btc being mined in the works,it just takes little more time lot more transactions to leading again

If people start adopting it the price should elevate due mere mathematics, higher demand = more value. The price will not go that high yet because there are still enough BTC being generated. Once halving happens then its rocket time.

Altcoins eat a lot of price too, since alts are mostly purchased with bitcoin and not fiat. And they all or almost all of them serve the same purpose. So if the demand for alts would return to bitcoin it might change some things here... but I would think it's the other way around most likely...

Bitcoin will never die, on top of that it's getting really used in country with an unstable currency (Argentina for example), so there will always be a need of BTC, even if other payements forms become cheaper and safer

Bitcoin is not dead but loosing its popularity by the emergence of altcoins. But you can't say its dead it will face the competition in future from the new technologies that will emerge in market but still long way to go. No need to worry for atleast 10-15 years.

Er, what? Which single alt has gained any mainstream press or VC investment in significant numbers recently? There is Ripple but that's a payment system. None of the alts out there have made the slightest splash.
