Hello BitGrinder,

Thank you for the donation! Although we didn't reach our goal, I will make the source code public in a few days and the community will be responsible for the project moving forward. You guys can contact Chainz directly to get the blockchain hosted again.

Best,
Christopher

I dropped .068256 BTC on Tally.

only .026114 BTC to go.

https://tallyco.in/s/qg6zmd/

Is there anything we can do to get the Chainz explorer reactivated?

Hello everyone!

Here is the source to the wallet we give to exchanges: https://gitlab.com/Komcore/Bytecent-Lite/

In a few days I will also make public the source for the wallet we distribute to the public. I just moved to a new apartment and we are still unpacking. I will upload the code from my local machine to the respository soon.

Best,
Christopher

The Bytecent Explorer is back online.

https://chainz.cryptoid.info/byc/

The host provider said new blocks won't appear until the wallet sync finishes.

Tally goal reached..

Would it be possible to recompile the wallet to the old POB format or maybe strip out the Advertisement modules and broken links from the current wallet?

Hello BitGrinder!

I apologize for the delay, I finally have my home office setup. Moving is always a pain.

Thank you for the donation and helping to get the block explorer back online!

As promised, here is the source code to the desktop version of Bytecent: https://gitlab.com/Komcore/Bytecent

I can remove/update the links...etc in the wallet, but it will take a few days. Newborn baby, new apartment, and a bunch of unpacked boxes, but I will find time to do it. Also, the source is public now so anyone can make updates as well.

FYI: POB will no longer work now that the wallet is open source.

Best,
Christopher

If you have a place to upload to..

I have the original 2.3.0.0 installer and 2.3.1.1 update file for windows.
I can also provide the current block db so you won't have to wait so long for the sync to finish..

Can you please provide both versions?

I've just installed the wallet, unfortunately I've got problems with 0 peers.

Can you or anyone spare some IP's?

Thank you

It's matter of view and personally I don't like KYC-ing. I'm gonna withdraw all my coins.

The number of peers increases and decreases regularly but there are few persistently connected wallets.
After the holidays, we - the byc community - will need to start taking steps to re-establish the chains presence.
Try to leave yours on as much as possible even if you're not mining.

Christopher:
Is there anything I can do to help get the SSL cert and wallet download host reconnected on the Bytecent website?

Thanks.

It's matter of view and personally I don't like KYC-ing. I'm gonna withdraw all my coins.

90% of KYC are scams within themselves, the Atls are not legal tender only BTc/ltc/doge maybe... So stealing peoples alts esp if they never moved them or sold them is just theft by ponzi as they have no legal tender worth ( apart from when they close ur accounts or delist coin while locked out and dump your hard mined coins for their profit ).. Or they use only 1 KYc checker provider rather than allow users to uses others 1s.

Cryptobridge good eg of this were there KYC said that my national ID isnt my country national ID form ( which it is and which u can google to check in like 10secs )
Tradeshashiity uses fake and illegal KYc methods to steal users coins aswell. Not understanding the legal difference from Pre-KYC info to KYC info,

basically pre-KYc info i/u DONt legally need to give 100% true info as the site isnt providing me with 100% true info on themselves or were or whome is running to site and could just use your info for data and Id theft ( which has been done by afew older exchanges that used that trick years ago, alot of peps ID info SOLd to highest bidder) ..

Once KYC info is needed then the site has to prove TRUE info and that u may provided TRUe ID info and also email address are PROOF of ID ( so say if u used 2x email  (2fa,login ) ) they are both proof of ID of ownership of the account. Esp if it has your name in email or isp/email provider bills with ur name on it..

Its quite easy to see which 1s are using fake and illegal or scammy KYC's just by testing/doing the kyc and reporting...

Ps...
Try getting BYC added https://www.unnamed.exchange/ No kyc and no delisting for low vol.

Actually KYC has valid purposes. 3 I can think of are:

Required for financial reasons when using Fiat.
Necessary for legal inquiries when tracking stolen assets.
Tax requirements since cryptos are essentially like stocks or commodities.

Does anyone know where STEX is geographically based?

And yes if there not scammy exchanges otherwise all 3 out the window.
that u need to ask were they are shows they wont u to give more info than there willling to show...
I have nothing against STEX and this isnt pointed at them its just in general the last couple of years there been more KYC scams than REAL KYCs
