Bitcoin has been steadily rising. It already beat up the $400 mark and it seems to be going up to beat the $500 mark. Do you believe we will see it before the end of the year or not?

Sooner, before we reach the halving, it is very possible to reach that mark. Also, the order books in the few weeks tend to point out that we're getting there.

You should ask Huobi if they think it will happen this year. I am sure they know the real answer ;) I personally think the chances of seeing $500 this year are very realistic.

That's what I've thought! I've been carefully looking to several orderbooks in different exchanges and they all tell the same story. It is very possible that might happen.

The rise might be explained by the sudden media spotlight we received from "Satoshi Wright" and also some people buying Bitcoins to pay for Xmas gifts online. I doubt if this climb

in the Bitcoin price could be sustained to the end of the year. Once the festive season demand decrease, we will see a slight decline. This is pure speculation, but a probable cause

The price of bitcoin will maybe reach 500 dollars again but it won't break it untill January or Febraury.
In December the price will just be around 410 - 450 dollars.

I think so that bitcoin will go to 500 dollars this year.

Only a few weeks left and the level where it is at now it could easily see the $500 mark but how long it will stay there is another thing, it will probably hit $500 then fall back down to around where it is now.

why didn't you buy when you had the chance at sub $300 prices. if you had bought the amount of coins you wanted, you would enjoy seeing the price go up. people who haven't bought because they waited too long, are not happy when the price is going higher and higher.

in these few days bitcoin already reach to $400 and the current price is $420 but for reach to $500 in this christmas i pretty doubt it would be happen

Slow progress. This is what happening in the price today. This is really good. Slowly but surely is a good action of the price before reaching $500. Unlike last rally, it just pump rushed to $500 so in the end, decrease down much.

I would say that this is possible. It has been going up since I woke up this morning. It's hasn't been going up much but every little bit helps.
We might see this happen if it continues to grow in value like it has been.

If the price goes up with current pace, then it will break the $500 this month without a problem. But I think the growth will slow down after we reach $450. Perhaps it will fall back to $420-$430 where it stays for a week or so, before going up again.

It might hit 450~~ in some days but will eventually come back to 380~ as there will be some unexpected dumping .
In my opinion 400 is roughly the most stable price till new year's.

I think you are a bit late to buy more. It's almost 500 dollar and I give it only 1 week before it passes 500 dollar band. If you still have cash you should buy right now, don't waste your time any more.

Seems we are at the brink of getting there. Now it is raising fast again, but I think it will not reach 500 now, will go down a little bit and then up again to get to that mark.

I would have to say yes, my thoughts (uneducated ones though they may be) are that we will see 6-700 before we ever see ~250 again. Looking at some charts, we've been in quite the upswing since about october. Its been nice to see some sustained upward movement :)

Yes I am as well. It's around $460 right now. Bitcoin is really close to reaching $500 it has that potential to keep on growing.

Even i am expecting bitcoin rate to go high rate. But When compare to yesterday and today's rate comparison Bitcoin rate falls 10$. Definitely it has no reason at all even Christmas nor NewYear. Its just that people do small dump after a panic red volume performed by the bulls. Minutes ago while Im posting this price took down to 440 level from 460 and now back again at 450 range. Many people dumps because of sudden reds but of course bulls still entering and attracts others too make green light in volumes.

I think it will hit $500 in 10 days. And set back at around $450.

whales are doing everything to prevent us from reaching $500. if the whales really wanted to reach $500, then they could easily do it. they are either unloading and holding the price back, or keeping the price below $500 to accumulate more coins.

All I can see is going down after January. I dont see any good news to push the price up again.

The stock markets around the globe are trading in negative, what else good news we can expect other than this to take bitcoin to new higher prices. The Chinese people have started to look for alternate investments other than gold and some of them already started to invest into bitcoin.

Yes it would be faster than we usually speculate. The new mining rigs and economic slow down will push bitcoin prices more faster. I believe in coming we can test $500 price levels for sure by considering stock prices going down.

You are missing the point. We are about to see the biggest stock market crash EVER, including 2008's. This is the same all over again, but worse. The difference is, Bitcoin didn't exist in 2008, so people didn't had an alternative. Now it exists, and it's solid. So you are about to see higher prices that we can consider as logical today.

Sadly bitcoin wasn't able to reach $500 again before the end of 2015. I think having bitcoin around $400 is a good deal, it has been around that number for a good couple of weeks. I'm looking forward to see where bitcoin will take us in 2016.

People have been saying for several days now that a rally upwards is on a horizon but that didn't happen. Now that the prices are going down, people are still saying the same thing. It's a good thing though that there are buyers at whatever price of bitcoin as that prevents further bleeding in price while others are just waiting for the right moment to buy them. Unfortunately though the whales have big control over these prices.

Yes few more months before halving and hoping everyone's positive speculation will became true because there is really a chance based on some basis.

But I guess we do not need to wait six more months for the target price of $500 levels. It may be reachable within this February itself. Halving speculation will create hype on higher bitcoin prices. So, $500 levels easily get passed, in the journey towards $10000 price levels.

Patience guys. BTC should reach the $500 mark this year eventually. It depends a lot on the fundamental developments whether it will be a short visit (caused by a next-to-the-halving occasional pump) or we will stay above for longer. But I expect that we should pierce $500 in 2016 at least for a while.

Bitcoin can reach there by this year end, not before that, lets see what would be the value after halving but I believe in this year we would see bitcoin crossing $500 and which is good value to hold.

You can never be sure what will be the value of bitcoin the very next day, but I think we will see that price by the end of April, not sure though, as its really difficult to predict the price of bitcoin.

500 is the price I was aiming for too. Since we have seen the price already go there several times I think this time we are ready for it.

You expect miracles from the upcomming block halving, don't you? The only thing that will change is the block reward that will be lowered from the current 25 BTC to just 12.5BTC. After that everything will just be like now. No real difference. The only bonus will be that the price is expected to go up.

Please keep in mind that many people are expecting a nice surprise by halving. Because of that many will hold their coins. So it's obvious now why will the price will hike before halving. It will bring people to participate in halving so many will try to get some coins.

The difference between current price leven and $500 may be around $80, which may seem not much to some people. But in fact, it will be as difficult as when we were trying to break through $300 in 2015. It took quite a while, but eventually we made it.

By the time the block halving is completed I am sure that we have seen the price touch the $500 level. 20% isn't that big of a deal for Bitcoin. We just need to make sure we don't have bad news popping up that will make the price crash significantly.

This is all speculation, but a $500/BTC is not so far, I think by the time the halving is near, the price will begin to rise maybe $5/day and it will surpass the $600 by the day of halving. Price is moving up now and we should be ready for surprises, and to be honest don't get surprised if  we see $600 price in next couple of months.

You see now indeed that the value of the Bitcoin is rising slowly and that is really nice for the people who already have Bitcoin and that they are waiting for a higher value.
So they can hopefully sell it with a lot of profit in the future and that is nice.

For now he is already 530 and that is a great thing. There will be allot of risings in the future but i think he will drop also again a little bit off course. But he will bring a bright future and allot of risings.

The Bitcoin price has finally passed the 500 Dollar mark after quiet some time now. I hope that the price is going to continue rising to $600 before the halving comes in so I can sell some coins again. Lets wait and see what is going to happen with the price.

$500 is what we expected at the start of May 2016. But now we have  crossed the $500 Mark. I am beginning to think if our speculation of $1000 will be reached at halving . and it is now looking possible . The rate the Bitcoins is going up.

Just after the halving in July or August, the price will be around $600. $1000 is for the price in the year end.

Bitcoin has already broken the $500 barrier yet again, just as I predicted a few weeks/months back. I believe in bitcoin's ability to break those barriers. They are so easy to stay at as well, once you break them.

I think bitcoin is going to go for $600 this month. The trend is up up up.

The value of Bitcoin is now rising indeed and that is nice because the most people with Bitcoin are already waiting for a higher value so that is nice, but it is still hard to predict for what will happen later.
And Bitcoin itself is also changing a lot so that is nice, but if you are selling it is the risk that you should take.

I think the bitcoin price will keep on rising after the halving. More people will be attracted to bitcoin and the price will rise.

Its really nice it has got to this amount if you ask me, its a real nice price and from this price the having can even become more and it will even rise to a higher amount also than.

I don't think the price will keep on rising, the price will stabilize after a huge rise. we might see price going up to $800.

The price will go up one step, it will then correct for some time and then go up one step. It will repeat.

The problem is a lot of people here have been pessimists for a long time because of the big 2013 crash, so they are underrating the potential of Bitcoin's bull cycles. If only they knew we are going to go beyond 2000 this time..

actually price now is larger than 500$, it is 550$ at this moment and still rising up so it would be pretty dump to think that we won't have 500$ price at end of this year, it will be even larger than this

and i think that it won't fall now and will rise only because of halving, people will buy even more bitcoins now because of large price, and after halving price will rise to 800$ or more

Not only pessimists but looks they are traumatic with that tragedy would recur again if the price goes higher than $1000 but if they are not forgetting and try to push the price. how can they get back their money.

People know what can happen with the price. The ATH back in 2013 is a good example of how things can go perfectly fine, while not long after that the price starts sinking making certain people lose a lot money very fast. People like these should stay far away from any kind of investment as they simply don't know when to enter the market. It's better for their own safety.

The high price in late 2013 is the result of price manipulation by the Mt Gox owner. That is not fine at all.

We have already passed the $500 and this was a good thing, I was really hoping that we were going to hit $500 and we have finally passed that. Now the price has even passed $600, maybe the price can get even higher.

Yeah lol, I don't think it's going to go down in a long while though, to be honest. Simply because that the HALVING ISN'T EVEN HERE YET! We might see a big dump after the halving, but definitely not before.

So it's a good idea to hold right now. At least till halving.

That's the exact reason why people that bought at the peak back then should never ever invest in something. Again, it's better for their own safety. They don't see risks and they don't spot a market that is over-bought like there is no tomorrow.

The current bitcoin price is quite safe. I think it will be safe even after 5 to 8 times rise, it is still below the 2013 folds.

Just wondering now how much will that big dump will goes. Hopefully the correction is around $600 or above and never below for that price. If that's happen we can truly see that bitcoin price will say goodbye now to below $500 price.

It doesn't take much at the moment to dump the price down like $100 in just a day. Especially when bots pull back their buy support. But one thing is sure, the higher the price goes, the lower the chance is to see $400 prices again this year. But never say never. We don't know how heavy the impact of the dump directly after the block halving will be.

You are right. The price drop more than $100 in the last day also. It might just be a long waited correction.

The price of bitcoin is in the correction phase. The price is trade between $600 and $690. It will last a few weeks.

If the correction will be made it's support at around 100% then likely even with a big price dump, we can hold on to that correction price so we can never see those below $500 range.

Hopefully it will since it's really sucks to get back again at that below $500 range.

I do no think heavy dump will happen again. The price of bitcoin has already dropped from $790 to 500 and rose again.

I think the bitcoin price will be quite stable like it did in the January to May and then rise again to $1000.

I was anticpating on that but when the price shoot up this high I though it would be time for a dump and I think a dump will happen soon.
Even to 500 or lower. Altough with miners needing profit around 450.

of course there will be no dump any time soon because in my opinion the price can only grow right now a lot and it will definitely not go lower than 600 dollars, at least thats what i hope for

The price has already dropped a lot due to the profit taking. It will be recovering from here very soon.

Yes your prediction were totally true about the price of bitcoin and like as you other member is also still strongly believe in increasing price of bitcoin and i hope bitcoin more rise its price in the future .

Yes it will  keep on rising in coming days and I really wish and hope that we don't have to see the price of $500 again as everyone is expecting higher price.

I think the bitcoin price will keep on rising year after year as long as there is no big pump of the price.

I think the price of the bitcoin will be above $500 in the next 6 months to 12 months. It could even reach $900.

The whales, the mining pools and asic manufacturers did not pump the price for it to go down again. If the price goes down their mining equipment will become worthless....

yeah, the price is much higher right now and it does not seem to want to stop right now, i think that is just the beginning and we will go to a new all time high in a year

of course the price will remain over 500 dollars in the future, in my opinion it is impossible for the price to drop lower than that right now because the interest in bitcoins is huge

Yeah and I don't think that we will ever see that lower price of bitcoin in coming days, as price is moving up now and we can expect the same thing in coming future.

I see it as reacting to the world events.

Not just the bitcoin news and events on this forum, but everything just added on top of whats been going on..

So there shouldnt be any more reasons to go back to old prices.

to be honest I don't think that price will fall that low in coming months and I think we can expect higher price in coming  days and that is the reason I am holding my coins.
