I hope your store is real,  but as someone who has been in business over a decade,  lots of things point to scam for me:

1.  No contact information on your website.
2. Private domain name registration
3. Your shipping rates are unbelievably low.

Please provide some real contact information so we can believe you.

Other than that,  your site looks great.

I appreciate your concerns, and as a relatively new face in the Bitcoin community can understand the lack of trust. I would be happy to use a trusted forum member to escrow the first few transactions if that helps. We are the real deal, and are incredibly excited about what the future holds.

1.  No contact information on your website.
By far the easiest way of communicating to us is via email (support@coinsfortech.com). We are based in Australia, meaning that our admin staff is generally asleep while the majority of our consumers are browsing our website (also the reason it has taken so long to respond here). If you really want to talk over the phone that can be arranged, however at this stage email will definitely work best. If our store is well-received we will be outsourcing support staff, however this will only happen if CoinsForTech.com (http://www.coinsfortech.com) proves profitable.

2. Private domain name registration
This was done for free when we registered our domains with NameCheap. I'm aware it does not scream confidence, and sincerely hope it does not affect our sales.

3. Your shipping rates are unbelievably low.
I disagree that they are unbelievably low, however I have very little experience with shipping out of the United States.

Having said this, our shipping rates into the US are artificially low. We have subsidised them to keep the costs down to remain attractive to US buyers. The shipping costs to rest of the countries are at cost price.

This can easily be solved.  Post your contact details today.

Clearly something doesn't add up with your claim that shipping to the above "countries are at cost price.'

Bitcoin needs more merchants,  and I hope you are an honest one,  but the evidence above leads me to think otherwise.
If you intend to have a successful business,  you will need to address items 1 and 2 right away.

I believe the OP will. The website has as a lot of detail & products listed. Scammers are normally lazy people who don't tend to make such a effort. The site would of only generated 1 income most likely, because it would of been called out to be a scam if it was. Unless they were hoping on a rush buying spree.

We do not list an address as we don't really have one worth promoting. As most of our work is done online, our business is operated in a home-office. I do not want to list my personal address for the world to see, however it is looking like it may come to that. We do have a returns address which is:

We do not carry any of the stock that is listed on our website, rather we have an agreement with a wholesaler (similar to your agreement with Ingram Micro). This allows us to look and act like a big retailer whilst not actually being one. We are not a million dollar company (yet ;)) and we do not have huge warehouses like MemoryDealers does to advertise our location. We do however have access to warehouses full of stock.

We do not have a phone number listed due to the timezone difference in Australia. However, we've had several emails today so far so it is something I will look into. We expected that a phone number would not be of much use as we thought we would be sleeping when most of our customers are online.

To put it simply, CoinsForTech.com (http://www.coinsfortech) is not operated out of a standard office/warehouse, and to protect mine and my partners security and privacy, I am against advertising our address.

If anybody would like to place an order but has doubts (which is not surprising given our huge inventory and lack of reputation), I would be very happy to use a trusted forum member to Escrow the first few transactions.

As mentioned above, the WhoisGuard was free with our domain registration with NameCheap. It is now obvious that this was a mistake and it has been removed. The more confidence we can get the better, especially while CoinsForTech is not a trusted name, and the WhoisGuard seems to be a massive hurdle to that.

Having said this, bitmit.net has a private domain registration, do you think they are any less of a company? How about CoinGig.com?

I understand that our WhoisGuard did not do a lot to enable consumer confidence, but please do not think we are scammers because of it. Regardless it has been removed now.



Well they are not shipped from Australia. In Australia electronics, among other things, are close to the most expensive in the world.

Products are shipped from Asia. Depending on the product, it will be shipped from Taiwan, Philippines, Japan or Hong Kong.

This is why we are unable to source the Canon EOS Rebel T3i (as it is for the North American market only), but we are able to source the Canon EOS EOS 600D (identical camera for Asia) and the Canon Kiss X5 (identical camera for Japan).  This is true for many of our products and they will never be labelled incorrectly. IE we won't advertise the 600D as a Rebel T3i.

I hope that has put some of your doubts to rest!

Just wanna share my experience with CoinsForTech.

I bought a Nikon D3100 about two weeks ago.

To my knowledge, the LG Nexus 4 was only at that price point in the United States. International RRP was $349 for 8GB & $399 for 16GB. The wholesaler we have partnered with can source the phones marginally cheaper than this, but obviously more expensive than in America. The Nexus 4 on CoinsForTech (http://www.coinsfortech.com) most appealed to those outside of the US, because unfortunately we just can't compete with prices found on the US Google Play Store.

LTE works perfectly on many of our phones outside of Australia, you will just need to be sure the frequency is right!

Okay, so far we've got plenty of awesome reflection to your service. Would be nice to have customers to give feedback on your trust page and send some traffic from your site or iframe it into your site to have customer know what awesome you did.

I'd  really like to grab a tablet but afaik most vendors in Bitcoin are in USA and neither USPS or any of those shipping company serve my country, Hong Kong, well, or with a close to acceptable price. Plus extras for tracking and double everything for insurance. I'd like to know what is the price for shipping to Hong Kong (Nexus 7 II) so we can have a sense what will this end up with

Also I ordered the LG Nexus 4 and the Nokia Lumia 920 and both were shipped in one package from Hong Kong and about 20 hours later the delivery guy was at my door, when I wasn't at home unfortunately.

I see your question about our price versus American prices has already been addressed. In general our store is inline with American RRP, however we definitely can't match Amazon/Google on the Nexus line. As far as I'm aware those prices are exclusive to the United States and Canada and ours are more in line with international pricing. Having said this, the Nexus 7 II is a relatively new product and is unfortunately very expensive to source from a wholesale perspective (our cost price is more expensive than American retail price). Nah, Netherlands, Western Europe.

Hong Kong -> Western Europe is about 12 hours of flight (if the earth would decide to stop spinning it would be shorter). It got delivered to CDG, Paris, France and from there they drove it to the Netherlands.

We can currently source the 16GB model for just over $520USD (2.464 BTC at time of writing). The Nexus 5 is very much very in-demand and still very expensive on the international wholesale level. The price will come down, but it will take a couple of weeks.

You might want to clarify on the site whether your Nexus 5 phones are the "North America" version or the "Rest of World" version.

Although for me (UK) it's cheaper for me to buy from Google.

The specification page on CoinsForTech says it's Model D821, which should be the "Rest of the World' version. At least, I hope so!

Falcon is correct. The D820 is North American, the D821 is for the rest of the world. The GSM/HSPDA capabilities are almost identical on both. It's only the LTE bands that differ greatly. Also the Play store will continue to be cheaper than us for some time. They're not the easiest product to source unfortunately.

We’ve had many customers from Spain, though I’m afraid it is very unlikely you will escape being taxed. Spanish customs are typically quite strict. It also doesn't help that we can only ship using DHL/FedEx as EMS have now restricted packages with batteries.

The PS4 is a request we get almost daily and is something we are desperately trying to stock. Unfortunately I cannot see it happening in the short term. Sony are struggling to fulfil their own orders and I'd say that we are a fair way down the track.. Nevertheless I will let you know once we secure stock (but definitely look elsewhere)

I ordered my first smartphone with coinsfortech. There was a slight problem with my bitpay payment, which they solved nicely. We had some communications about details of the item and the delivery, they reacted quick and addequate. The item was send internationally and packed in a sealed bag, which was untouched on arrival. Just received my Galaxy S4 today and I have to say, I am impressed! Not only did it come faster than I expected, but I also managed to get past the import tax (in the UK) and I couldn't be happier with the phone and with the service offered by CoinsForTech. I know how difficult it can be for a business to gain trust in the Bitcoin community, I imagine it's especially difficult when you're selling high value physical goods. That said I'd like to +1 the Trust rating for CoinsForTech :)

I've had a wonderful experience with these guys! Lee was very helpful on Skype and even sent me the tracking code for my package earlier than the official email. Very polite and professional. I am of course amazed that I found a legit place to do my Bitcoin electronics shopping! I will definitely shop again in the future!

Now a real review has Pros and Cons. In terms of cons there is only one very small and insignificant con. I believe another customer noticed the same thing, that is, the Galaxy S4 I ordered had it's seal broken, however there was another seal on top of that one. Not sure why, I'm assuming some sort of check had to be made or something. Nonetheless, the phone is great, genuine and has no issues what so ever so I can't complain, I'm just reporting :)

To sum up, I couldn't be more satisfied, I am honestly uncontrollably happy with the service! Highly recommended!

Not only was za8bit a pleasure to deal with, but due to some bad communication during Chinese New Year we accidentally sent him TWO phones in separate shipments.

Due to the holiday we were unable to cancel or redirect the second shipment with DHL Hong Kong. The shipment is now out of control and meant that if he wanted too ze8bit could have made off with both phones and there’s not a lot we could have done.

Just so you know, I had some difficulty with the website while trying to place an order just now.

The "come chat with us thing" in the bottom right hand corner was covering the checkbox to accept the terms and agreements on the final checkout page. I had to tab to the checkbox and use the spacebar in order to "check" it. If I clicked on the box, it just brought up the chat thing.

I'm using the Chrome browser with Windows 7 if that helps.

I was at the bottom of the page already. For example, right now on the home page the "chat with us" is blocking the navigation menu in the lower right hand corner. I haven't looked at your code or anything, but it appears the "chat" entity has an absolute position to be X distance away from the right edge of the browser window. If I make my screen really wide (i.e. maximize the window on a 1920x1080 monitor) the chat box is mostly out of the way, but still blocks part of "contact".

Hi! All of our phones are unlocked from the factory. Unfortunately we can only get US or Hong Kong iPhones so you most likely won't get a local warranty. Some local branches of the manufacturer will honour imported stock though you should not rely on this. Worst case scenario you'd need to ship it to us in Hong Kong but it's not very expensive from Italy. Also if it helps we've only had two warranty issues. One was a Nexus which we replaced, the other a PS4 which a branch of Sony local to the customer (Denmark) repaired.

Getting a bit worried about my order.

Ordered a macbook on the 7th, got a shipping number on the 11th. Shipping number does not show up at all on TOLL tracking page, so i called them, gave them my name, address and tracking number. They say tracking number does not exist, and no parcels have been sent to either my name or address, and they only way for that to happen is if item has not been sent?

That's a strange for TOLL to say. Your package definitely left Hong Kong today and the tracking should have updated. I'm investigating and will let you know as soon as I hear back.

Still processing for my Macbook. Been ~3 days, what's going on? (I ordered on the 29th to the UK)  :-\

I find this especially irritating considering the Bitcoin price increase while my order is stuck "Processing".  (bought from you @ 3 btc, right now only costs 2.7btc)

EDIT: Apparently there's been protests in Hong Kong over the past week (the MBP's are shipped from HK apparantly), and Tuesday was a bank holiday, so that's a partial explanation, but I don't know if the CoinsForTech HongKong distribution centres are involved with the protests...

By the way, your mobile site sucks. The ChatNow thing blocks some functions, you can't access "my account" on mobile without just typing in the URL manually, and you also can't login. I'm using my Nexus 5 with the latest Chrome, which is pretty standard so you definitely have a problem (my friend also confirmed on his Nexus 5). I tried using "Ask for Desktop Site" to make it bearable, but your site doesn't respond to that and gives me the horrid mobile interface anyway. Please, drop the mobile interface until you have a design that works, I much prefer to browse your desktop site, than the mobile site which doesn't actually work properly.

EDIT3: Luke has upgraded my order to "DHL International Priority", claims the bank holiday threw them off. Still not off of "Processing", but hopefully it will be soon...

EDIT4: Finally got my shipping number, although TNT recycled it, be warned your package may appear to have been delivered to another country/city months ago, this is because these international shipping companies suck and recycle their shipping number. After about an hour it started to display the correct shipping data.

UPDATE: My Macbook finally arrived. Seems I didn't have to pay £200 sales tax which the calculator said, which means I just got my Macbook Pro for £200 cheaper than buying it in the UK. AWESOME!

Still disappointed that it took 6 days for Coinsfortech to ship it, but at least it's here now, and without an extra £200 sales tax.

How much time do you need to delivery to Germany?

Travel time to Germany is 2-3 days on most products. We use express couriers such as DHL, FedEx and TNT. If you're buying video games or Google Cardboard shipping will take approx 2 weeks (however shipping for these items is free)

Just as an FYI, it's not quite 9am here in Australia. This whole situation happened autonomously overnight. You have not received any correspondence from us because we were asleep. We are just getting into the office now.

I made 2 purchases with these guys. Both were shipped from HK. I think they ship from the nearest located warehouses. I am from IN, so I think thats why they sent from HK. Since you are from UK, maybe they will ship from some warehouse located in EU.

Yeah IIRC, I paid good amount of taxes when these were received by me in IN. On my first purchase (Galaxy Tab S 8.4), I paid a import duty worth 4565.28 INR (~74.214 $) and second time when I ordered Xperia Z Ultra + Canon Speedlite 430 EX II flash, I paid a import duty of 7850 INR (~127.58 $). I received them (the 2nd order goods) just 10 days back. But again, it depends on the import rules of your country. You can use http://dutycalculator.com/ to get an estimate.

I'd get raped if they put the full value down and it was shipped from outside the EU. £70+ extra on top according to that site so it wouldn't be worth it for me.

No, actually they devalue goods so that you have to pay the lowest possible import duty. I mean, even if you pay 600$ for a product, they declare the value of the goods to be something about 400$. But customs sometimes revalue goods. I can't actually guarantee you that customs will revalue them but my second order was first given an import duty of 5550 INR (~90.25 USD) but then the customs revalued it and I had to pay 7850 INR (~127.58 USD).

Sometimes we ship from Malaysia or Singapore, though this is usually a back-up option as the costs are significantly higher than Hong Kong.

Just wanted to add a comment and say a massive thanks to Lee/CoinsForTech I ordered a drone from BitDroneStore (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=875653.msg10049123#msg10049123) which turned out to be a scam they shipped to the first few it appears and the stole the rest.

I contacted Lee/CoinsForTech after seeing the feedback in this thread and Im gob smacked at how great a service it was prompt response to questions/queries (even over the Christmas period) and the overall update on shipping etc.

Considering all most every where I have been in my Life free shipping means FREE. 2+2 Equals 5 it seems.

We also made specific mention to import costs when we announced free shipping so that customers were not caught unaware. Unfortunately it seems you have missed this (which is understandable given the coupon is a few months old).

We have shipped to over 70 countries now. These countries have varying costs for import. Like most global exporters we are unable to factor these costs on a per-country basis, hence why the onus is on the customer. Would you be happy paying a 60% premium because our Brazilian customers wanted us to factor their tax into our pricing? It does not make sense to operate this way.

A tip for next time: If you import products into a country with import taxes and duties - there will be import taxes and duties.

Also, there are many phones which are still way too costlier. The iPhone 6 & iPhone 6 Plus and also the Nexus 6 & Note 4, OnePlus One and Xiaomi Mi3, all are lower in cost than your website shows. Perhaps, this site needs some updates in prices.

I would also suggest updating the price for Moto 360 on the site, as the price was dropped just this month to a lot less.

The phone cost a total of 1052$ I know i was already paying way over the odds but heck i needed a phone upgrade, so i was a wee bit miffed that i had to pay tax duty if only it had said your item will come from Honk Kong,  and there will be a tax/duty fee, during the checkout, i would of stopped the order and went for the 64 gig model.

Please do some about this for other people who might want to buy from you, so they are aware of the extra fees, and please get on top of discount codes i had no idea i was using an old one. Regards.

For me to buy from a Australian shop shipping from HK it would need a bit more than a higher price, waiting time, customs paperwork and other shortcomings. A nicely built online shop alone isn't enough, sorry.

This is why it's not really worth buying expensive items from outside the EU. The only thing that makes the prices attractive is that they don't include extortionate taxes, but you'll almost certainly get hit with them in customs so it defeats the purpose. Then of course if there's any problems it's not worth shipping it back to wherever it came from. Far easier just to bite the bullet and pay the extra to get it from your own country or inside the EU. At least you have the warranties and guarantees then as well.

I agree with you about this. Some things on that shop are still too expensive, including the import duty and also the thing about warranty is worth a mention, you cannot avail warranty in your country because most of the products don't come with an international warranty. I don't know about the US, but I am from India, and when goods are imported, you have to pay duty here. I paid around 3000 INR (approx. 47 $) for a device worth 328$ and also paid 4565 INR (approx. 71.25 $) for a tablet worth 551$, but even after including all those, things are a bit cheaper when I order from these guys.

But the problem is, the import duty has to be paid from my hand and cannot pay them in BTC (of course), so, I order from Amazon.in, Flipkart, Snapdeal, etc which are the local online retailers here in India.
