An interesting idea.  Where do you keep the source?  Or is it just an idea at this point?

Cool, I'll check out the source.  Thanks!

Is it a fork of andrea's bitcoin wallet for android?  If so I think you need to include the GPL license.

It is not a fork but it uses code from bitcoinj/andreas and electrum.

The client is GPL, just pushed the license.

Very cool.
When you plan on having a stable version to release?
I signed up can't wait to give it a try.
*If possible it would be awesome to have more info on the site like FAQ with the different features, etc.
Great work so far.

How many coins will the first release support?

Title: Re: [Coinomi] Multi coin wallet
Post by: sed on July 29, 2014, 05:59:50 PM
I'm personally hoping that it's somewhat configurable by the user which coins it supports.  I don't know how hard that is technically, but since there are so many altcoins appearing and disappearing constantly, for the dev to decide which to support would be a terrible task that he's always lagging behind in.  I think the ideal is that each user can decide which coins-of-the-day he is interested in.  No idea how possible that is.

How does this communicate with the respective coin's networks?

Title: Re: [Universal-Wallet] Coinomi (BIP44 compatible)
Post by: erasmospunk on December 10, 2014, 06:19:28 PM
It connects to Electrum servers for each coin, that use the respective bitcoind, litecoind, etc.

The client requests transaction information for all their addresses that derive from the seed. The downloaded transactions are used to create new transactions to send money (and sign them on the device). The new transactions are broadcasted via the Electrum servers.

Ahh i see. Now how would i go about getting DGC added to the wallet? i can code up the electrum wallet and work on the coinomi wallet if needed

I would suggest to think, which crypto coins wallet will support - there a lot of them. Exactly right one cryptocoin support will give many possibilities in the crupto market.

I think that the Universal wallet idea is essential to the success of cryptocurrency. Hopefully you are working on a wallet version that can be used on the backend of website servers. It would be very good if a website business could accept crypto coin from a vast majority of the coins that exist. A universal wallet in conjunction with software that can automatically trade and convert the alt coin to bitcoin and or USD is very important. If people can use their favorite coin to purchase goods and services this will be a boon to the entire cryptocoin ECO System. .

Awesome Idea.

I'd also like to enquire about having a coin added. I gather coinomi only needs Electrum server and not the client itself? If thats the case I'm more than likely able to do all the work.

Cheers,
Esotericizm

I just found this wallet. Let me congratulate you for it!
It will definitely be my preferred mobile wallet.

If somebody implements the required changes to add a new coin would you consider pulling it to the main project?
What would be the requirements you'd impose (besides being fully functional)?

This is my favorite wallet as of right now as well.

I might be wrong but I believe they are using the greenaddress.it open source code. The greenaddress code uses an electrum server. An electrum server that can handle a certain number of users would be the minimum requirement.

Restored my wallet and lost 2200 DGC.  I've sent an email and have yet to hear anything back.

I would recommend not using this application until they can prove that it can be reliable.

I used the long string of codes and the wallet passphrase to restore it as well and I'm sitting at a 0 balance.

Did you selected "My recovery phrase is password protected" correctly to match what you set when creating the wallet?
You should try both with that option checked and unchecked if you're unsure.

Okay, something I didn't try.  But decided to give it a shot.  I just sent 2200 DGC to myself with a 0 balance and now it shows up.  Could be a bug they should look into perhaps?? Anyways, got my DGC balance back, so I'm a happy camper again.  However.  I'm moving the DGC to another client, I just think there are personally too many issues with the wallet for my liking.

Quick questions, so after adding support for a coin the compile android app has to be submitted to the coinomi staff the the official apk on the google store gets updated or do we just submit the apk our self to the google store?

@scarsbergholden you don't need to compile an APK for the PlayStore, only for your own testing. You should make a pull request to the Coinomi repository. Read more about adding a new coin here https://coinomi.com/AddingSupportForANewCurrency/

Does Coinami support POS only Coins? I notice that BlackCoin is a part of Coinami but if able to integrate a POS only Coin, will it Stake?

What kind of server setup is needed for trusted nodes?

Do you offer support for setup and integration for payment in btc?

How do upgrades and potential hardforks come into play?

Thank you for your service, your Coinami wallet looks really great.

Google Authenticator, SMS and any other stuff on the same phone with wallet wont improve security. Just take care of your phone like it's your wallet stuffed with credit cards and bucks and don't loose it :)
Concerning digibyte I don't nag just report. Hope they will repair it and add more coins. Exporting / importing individual private keys for specific coins and adresses would be cool feature.

Don't forget that your favorite coin and coin developer needs to put in the work to have the coin integrated with Coinomi. I have done this work for Jumbucks and run the necessary Electrum servers.

It would be great if these features are added where I can import my paper wallet having my private keys in these formats: WIF, WIFC, HEX, B64, B6, MINI, BIP38. Also add the feature where I can import my "brain wallets" too. Have a look into https://www.bitaddress.org to know more about the above mentioned formats.
BTW, this wallet is a complete solution for having multi-wallets alongwith the inter-coins exchange via Shapeshift! I really appreciate it :D

I think Coinomi is experiencing a problem regarding syncing of Bitcoin transactions! The new transactions aren't being shown on the app still after doing several refreshes. While I can see it on Blockchain easily on searching my wallets extended public key (xpub). OP, please fix this issue as soon as possible since it becomes hectic to check for newer transactions via Blockchain! Then what's the use of this app right ?! BTW, I'm not experiencing this problem with altcoins!

Hi all,

First of all, I have to apologize, I don't follow bitcointalk often but will try to come here more often!

So about your tech questions:

Does Coinami support POS only Coins? I notice that BlackCoin is a part of Coinami but if able to integrate a POS only Coin, will it Stake?

What kind of server setup is needed for trusted nodes?

Do you offer support for setup and integration for payment in btc?

How do upgrades and potential hardforks come into play?

Coinomi can support POS coins but it cannot stake. The reason is that to verify that a block signer can actually sign the block it needs the full UTXO set that can be several MB in size. One solution is for the POS coins to create delegate keys for the actual staking (but not spending) and leave the master keys in the lightweight wallet.

The trusted servers are plain electrum servers in some cases modified a bit to support each coin.

For the payed integration you can send us to support at coinomi.com.

The hardforks are tricky business because we need to manually update the underlying peer-to-peer node. Fortunately the forks are rare (except in Dash) and the developers usually inform us about it.

what's the criteria for new coins? how do you add them?

If it has a good community and market cap we will probably add it ourselves (for non-BTC clones it will take more time). For very small coins, the developers usually create pull requests and host their own electrum servers. Most of the time I personally redesign the icon of the coin to match the existing style of the application. Read here (https://coinomi.com/AddingSupportForANewCurrency/) for more info.

Is there a downloadable version of this that doesn't use Github?  I can't compile codes at all, and would be really nice to use a wallet like this.

You don't have to. The link that leads to github (https://github.com/Coinomi/coinomi-android/releases/latest) has a downloadable APK usually named as coinomi-vX.Y.Z.apk

Brian, you should not have lost those coins because they are accessed with your recovery phrase. I think that when you created your wallet you enabled BIP39 passphrase on your recovery phrase and when restoring didn't input it so the wallet was empty. The "error broadcasting transaction" could be caused by a bug. Could you send us to support at coinomi.com to try to debug this issue?

Yes, we would like to release a desktop version once we get more traction!

Regarding the rate, it is not realtime but exponentially smoothed i.e. averaged. This has the effect of the price lagging from the real-time rate but it will not erratically jump up & down if the exchange has a big spread.

Do you still have this problem? Could you send us a message to support at coinomi.com to debug this issue?

If you have backed up your recovery phrase (and if enabled, your BIP39 passphrase) your coins are completely safe because your addresses are generated deterministically from it.

Thank you all for your comments and ideas.

Sincerely,

John L. Jegutanis

I know it's an issue with network syncing but now I noticed another problem and this is due to many transactions being stacked up altogether with different addresses attached to the same extended public key (xPub)! The problem is : whenever I try to open the app, it always syncs from start (i,e. 0 BTC) and as it gradually syncs nearly 100 transactions, the app automatically crashes and I had to start all over again and unfortunately this happens  everytime ! For your information, this happens only on my Samsung Galaxy Grand (of 1GB RAM) but the app works smoothly on my Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge (of 3GB RAM)! So, does it depend on phone's RAM when transaction volume of the wallet reaches more than 100? Please try to address this issue because it'll be a major drawback for budget level smartphone users!

This is a known issue we are working to resolve it: when the wallet receives transactions from faucets or mining pools, they tend to be hundreds of kilobytes to pay many users at once. Unfortunately this overwhelms the wallet that keeps all the transactions in memory.

In the mean time it is possible to use BIP44 compatible wallets with your recovery phrase.

NO! You must have a backup of your wallet's encrypted or non-encrypted passphrase. Otherwise, sorry to say, your coins are lost forever. Check whether you have written it down somewhere?

Hope this helps!

I have been using Coinomi more than 3 months now with no complaint. I generally used one of it's addresses for mining on F2pool (http://F2pool.com). And along with Bitcoins, F2pool pays out Namecoins (https://namecoin.info/) and Huntercoins (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=435170.0) too. But recently I noticed my Namecoin wallet is not getting synchronized at all! My balance is thus not reflecting on my wallet and so I'm unable to exchange them on Shapeshift.io. :-\  @ erasmospunk, please take a note of this.

Also I would like to suggest you adding Huntercoin on your wallet so that I don't have to rely always on it's desktop wallet.

Thanks.

Just to report new issue with Digibyte on Coinomi as it is in beta now, maybe this info will be helpful.

I made transfer of 540 digibytes  but it shows only on one block explorer, on all other blockexplorers there is no such transaction and they show coins on my balance. It's weird.

The Transaction Id: ae3ea94be6ef140cdc420d32f5653ff37e3d41bc37969f6bd6406b52d1ce65da

It can be found only on  https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/BlockExplorer?coin=DGB

wallet sais it has 293 confirmations already :)

Is Coinomi able to Sign transactions from a device that is always offline and Broadcast them from
a machine that does not have your keys?

I mean: is it possible to create an offline wallet then create a watching-only version of that same wallet (using Master Public Key) like Electrum does?

Does BIP44 (as an "upgrade" from BIP32) allow creating unsigned transaction, signing it offline and then broadcasting tx like we do using BIP32?

If not supported yet, are there any plans to add that funcionality to Coinomi soon?

@onlinedragon partially my mistake to prematurely announce that we work on it. We originally wanted to port to iOS and then to other platforms, unfortunately our development strategy would not scale so we had to scrap the previous plan for a cross platform solution. In the next weeks we will analyze how much time we need and announce a launch date.

@favdesu @aiwe Confirm, the Digibyte Electrum was outdated, fixed. If you hear about an eminent hard fork in an alt-coin you can always inform us by sending us to support at coinomi.com.

@Financisto We have thought about this and it is definitely a feature that we would like to add. As a walk around you could use this tool (https://coinomi.com/recovery-phrase-tool.html) in an offline computer to generate the private keys from your recovery phrase. An old smartphone with an offline signer app would be more user friendly.

Nice to hear that's already been considered before.

It'll get even better when we have that "online watch-only wallet" working together with an "offline tx-signer wallet" for (available soon, I hope) desktop (Linux, Win, OS X) versions of coinomi.

A promising platform, for sure...

We are open to all legitimate coins. Coinomi can support different algos, however in some cases extra customization might be necessary in order to utilize the full spectrum of an algorithm's capabilities.

is there a way for me to get my funds out if you, for some reason, get shut down?

We don't hold any funds, all keys (therefore all funds) are located in your device and never leave it so even if get shut down there's nothing to worry about.

You could, although sharing keys across HD and non-HD wallets could cause adverse effects when spending the outputs controlled by these keys from the non-HD wallet.

Also I had requested you to add the feature of importing paper wallet's private keys long time back (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=713649.msg12674219#msg12674219) but no update has been made to that till now. :( Hope you add it soon. :)

Can you add ANTIBitcoin to your wallet? Here is their announcement thread --- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1283271.0
Since it is a POS (Proof of Stake) coin so can you add the staking feature to it as well? It will serve both the purpose of the coin :)

All you have to do to incorporate ANTIBitcoin into Coinomi is follow these instructions: https://coinomi.com/AddingSupportForANewCurrency/.

Staking is not available yet, although it might be supported in the future.

Did the Namecoin Blockchain crashed recently? I cannot see my coins in the respective wallet! ???

We just checked the Namecoin servers and everything is working smoothly. If you still cannot see your coins please send us more details at: support@coinomi.com

Also I had requested you to add the feature of importing paper wallet's private keys long time back (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=713649.msg12674219#msg12674219) but no update has been made to that till now. :( Hope you add it soon. :)

Importing standard keys will be available in one of our upcoming versions.

may be a dumb question... I have my wallet set to generate a new receiving address for each transaction. Do the addresses ever "expire"? (i.e. can I save one in another wallet's address book (Electrum) to be able to send back to the Coinomi?)

Also, when restoring a wallet, what is a "BIP39 passphrase"? Who would/wouldn't want to use it?

No. your addresses will never expire and all your addresses will be bind together by a single master public key (xPub key) and is secured by the master private key which is the passphrase shown after opening the app for the first time.

But you cannot import Coinomi's recovery phrase on Electrum. I tried it before but it never worked. Maybe my passphrase was password protected or Electrum couldn't recognize the pattern of the phrase.

Also, when restoring a wallet, what is a "BIP39 passphrase"? Who would/wouldn't want to use it?

BIP-39 is an added layer of security where your passphrase is protected by another password of your choice so that when you import it you will have to enter that password also otherwise it will not import. But this feature is not available on Coinomi yet. They will be adding it in their next update hopefully :)

Importing standard keys will be available in one of our upcoming versions.

Right, well I loved Coinomi until today. I wake up to check my funds and the Bitcoin part of Coinomi has given me a NEW address and the NEW address doesn't have my old funds. When I check my PREVIOUS ADDRESSES it doesn't say the actual amount in it. Blockchain.info states the correct amount.

What is going on? The fact that I have been given a NEW address has now stuffed up all my incomes streams. Can someone please tell me what is going on?

EDIT:
I just read the above posts...I don't want new addresses. Plus the new address I was allocated doesn't have correct amount showing. How can I fix this?

EDIT 2:
Ok, finally got my amount showing up after opening and closing it a few times and going in and out of settings. Now with my OLD address, will this still be 100% functional and accept payments forever?

You can swap on addresses tab for each cryptos and you'll be shown the list of previously used addresses. If you don't want to be anonymous then you can continue using them as long as you wish to. You won't lose any coins since all addresses are/will be tied up with the unique master key of your app.

I've had the same issue before (as have others it seems in this thread... any idea the reasoning? It is VERY unnerving!!), and in my experience it seems once you do a recovery, sometimes all of your coins do not reappear until the next block is introduced into the blockchain.  However they have ALWAYS reappeared in my wallet. Alright let me help you since Coinomi support team is too slow here to respond.

Basically after you download the app on your phone and start it you will see this --

http://i65.tinypic.com/b3obnm.png

Tap on Restore a wallet and you will see this popup below --

http://i64.tinypic.com/2zyjt03.png

Now enter your recovery passphrase on the box provided exactly as was shown after creating a new wallet. The passphrase is case sensitive so be careful while typing each words.

Do not check on Use a BIP39 passphrase option since you already said earlier that you have not enabled it before.

Now on clicking next hopefully you will get back your previous wallet imported.

Note that if you are not typing correctly then you can download any QR code generator app on your another phone and separately generate a QR code of your passphrase. Then you can scan it by tapping that QR code scanner button. That way you will be able to check whether you entered your passphrase correctly and can easily import your wallet.

Sorry for that but nobody will be able to recover that wallet until you remember that password yourself.
So your coins are pretty much gone forever :-\

That recovery phrase password is set by the user correct?

Yes. Try to remember what extra password you had typed on setting up your wallet for the first time?
It would be better to write it down on a piece of paper and store it somewhere safe.

Coinomi's idea fits Tails much better than Electrum (already available by default inside that OS): developers don't need to endlessly fork Coinomi in order to add their altcoins and ShapeShift.io integration is a real PLUS!

Maybe you need to wait for it to get rejected from itself.
Actually it depends on which api they are using to monitor the network.
Unless that network gets propagated fully, you'll have to wait.

It's been over a week and it's been rejected twice as far as I can tell. The message I see when I follow it to blockchain is
"Transaction rejected by our node.
Reason: Transaction was previously accepted but has been pruned from our database"

However, in coinomi it is still greyed out waiting for confirmation. I'd like to find some way to cancel it and send it again with the correct transaction fee.
It seems like it has been cancelled on blockchain.info but it isn't cancelled in coinomi.

No, the addresses never expire, you can reuse them as many times as you wish, although we strongly suggest you use a different address for every transaction.

The BIP39 passphrase is a feature that is now deprecated and is only there for compatibility purposes.

Any solution for this? I am having the same issue.

According to the change log for coinomi:
New in version 1.5.16

Changed the way balance is calculated and added the possibility to spend unconfirmed transactions

But I can't seem to find any way to do this from the android client.

I have a simple suggestion on a feature that I think could be of some real use.

How hard would it be to add a "Balance Check" feature for paper wallets? Basically it would simply allow you to scan a QR code or manually enter an address, then search a block explorer and display the balance for the wallet.

If your wallet already does this, can you walk me through how?

thanks!

I am admin of the Gulden (NLG) support slack channel and we got yesterday and today three members with problems in their Coinomi wallets in our support channel.  Their Guldens are gone/disappeared. They have asked support to Coinomi but didn't get an answer yet. Maybe it is advisable to be carefully with Gulden in the Coinomi wallet.

I just got the Coinomi Android wallet and am testing it. I have one question:

Say Coinomi goes away and stops development can I just install the .APK on my android, enter the BIP44 16 word phrase and recover my coins?

In other words there is no server that this wallet depends on?

Thank in advance.

PS: first look is great like that you have all the coins and I like that it gives you a sum of everything you have in the wallet (across all coins you have).

I have been using your wallet for 3 months and i have to say that it has worked beautifully for me on a Samsung S2 tablet - I was a bit hesitant to use the onboard exchange but I have had no serious problems so far - I was trading lots of Digibytes for Ethereum and although half a dozen transacations ended up unable to complete the coins were returned. - with complex hardware and software there are always going to be glitches from time to time but I applaud the quality, and the high level of security that Coinomi offers.

You can extract your private keys using this tool : https://coinomi.com/recovery-phrase-tool.html

But I think they don't include all the coins in their wallet, so if the project is closed in the future, they probably release more advanced version of this tool.

I know this tool. I used it to recover funds in electrum from Multibit seed. But i meant this:

- I have Bitcoin, golem, ETH, DOGE coins on Coinomi for example.
- I have 1 seed for all of them in Coinomi.
- The project goes down.
- I remember the seed so now i'm searching e.g for Golem and Dogecoin wallets available on PC and for each of this wallets i can "convert" this ONE seed from coinomi to recover funds in each one of these wallets?

someone may correct me if i'm wrong:

you don't need to "recover funds" in any PC-wallets. you own coins if you know the private key(s).

with your seed (and some crypto-magic) you can recover all your addresses and the corresponding public and private keys for each coin coinomi supports.

with the private keys written down (paperwallet), you can delete the app. that's all you need for spending the coins.

the "crypto-magic" can be found inside the source-code of the app and the recovery-tool, too. print out the source code and you can re-code your own version of the tool, 20 years after the zombie-attack.

I know i don't need to "recover funds" in any wallet. It was just a term that i thought will be easier to explain what i mean. I just wanted to hear clear answer - Yes, with this seed from Coinomi you can "recover" your funds at anytime, anywhere, no matter how much different coins you have there.

I don't need to know what tools i need to use to "recover" them now, cuz i have a seed and when i will lose my devices for some reasons then i will be interested in it. Just needed an assurance that having that ONE seed (instead of having one seed from one wallet for one coin) will guarantee me that my funds will never be lost and i will be able to "recover" them when i want.

Your answer is what i wanted to hear but in different words, I hope... :D:D

Thanks :)

no, the seed is not enough.

it's just a password from which a software creates private keys. you need to know which algorithm is used to create the private keys.
in other words: you need the seed AND the "manual" how to do operations with this seed to create (or re-create) the private keys.

if you backup the seed, it is the same as if you backup the password to your creditcard, but not the credit card itself.
if you lost the card, you need someone who knows what was on the chip of the card (the banking account numbers) to get back access to your funds.

I also have some questions. But first of all I am happy there is such software as Coinomi. Is there more similiar multi-wallets/universal-wallets? Or is coinomi the best/a safe choice?

The only complaint so far I have is that its a bit tedious to add more coins/wallets as you have to type the password every time. So when you still have no money in it, its easier to actually just start over, because intitially it will create all the wallets you need pretty fast and easy.

Someone asked how they can recover their different wallets, should Coinomi ever go down. I have a question related to this. Lets say I save the .apk so i could always reinstall the app even if it gets removed from Google Play for some reason (just in theory).

Would this be enough, the app and my "universal keyphrase" to restore all the wallets and get their private keys?

Can I use coinomi completely offline, to generate the wallets, AND see the private key for EACH of the wallets?

Because this right now would seem easiest for me:

Use coinomi offline on a tablet.
Generate the wallets offline (or will this need online?...)
Send the altcoins to the addresses from elsewhere, like browser/exchange.
Store safely.

Right now I cannot seem to find the option to actually view all my wallet addresses and private keys?

Would really appreciate some help on this, hope I did not ask it all too complicated (english is not my first language, apologies!)

Has anyone succesfully used the site to recover they priv. keys? I wanted to use it because the Wallet App I use does not offer this and I wanted to get my Bitcoin Cash funds. But when I saw a field for inserting the seed I was a little bit suspicious. If I enter my seed and the site generates my private keys, wouldn't someone be able to steal my funds?

I have a question I saw an ad on top of my Coinomi android wallet for ICO investing in ENJIN coin which I followed the instruction and send some Ether from my coinomi wallet but at the end the ETH was gone but no ENJIN showing or record or anything? How will this ICO be credited to me and will this be in my Coinomi wallet? Thanks!

Did anyone else buy ENJIN from Coinomi or am I the only one and what is the next step here? Thanks.

I bought some. The web site says the tokens will be transferred to your account by Oct 3.

No, it's a stand alone web page, that includes all the code needed to show you your keys.

You can run it on an airgapped PC (or boot to a livedisk linux distro) if you want.

Yeah I managed to recover my keys and all is well. Funny thing is that I droped my old wallet in favor of Conomi (wich I dind't knew until now) and I'm really pleased with it. So, double win I guess.

Nice that the Changelly support was added in the last update - good alternative to Shapeshift.

Hi,

could you please include Pesetacoin and Teslacoin please?

Rw

Apologies for our late response.
We indeed consider adding both coins in the future but they are not in our top priority list. However, thank you for the suggestions.
Stay Tuned!

Thanks for having them in your radar!

Hi,

just a little update on Pesetacoin

We've been added to slip44, allowing multi-currency wallets to support pesetacoin and be inter-operable with one another:
https://github.com/satoshilabs/slips/pull/87
Obviously, we would love to see PTC in your wallet too
Team, community, price and volume is growing

Hi,

Another little update on the progess

We now have PesetacoinJS, pesetacore and insight explorer
https://github.com/FundacionPesetacoin/pesetacoinjs-lib
https://github.com/FundacionPesetacoin/pesetacore
http://live.pesetacoin.info/

We're about to release Electrum-Peseta in 2 days.

We've been listed in Litebit and no need to say we would love to get into Coinomi   :)

btw, volume and mcap keeps growing steadily  :)

Hi,

Another little update on PTC!

We're now with Electrum-Peseta available and working on the webwallet now :)

NewYorkCoin (NYC) needs a mobile wallet.
Original true crypto with fair launch in March 2014.
Block explorer, mining pools, github.

Please add NYC!

Gday all,

Here is an experience I just had with Coinomi and my Bitcoin Cash (BCH), which was quite serious and should interest fellow users.

Background :
I have a new Android phone (kept updated) and have been using Coinomi on it for a few months (currently v1.7.7). I had some Bitcoin in it during the split to Bitcoin Cash, I received my BCH as expected; I've also used Coinomi for Ethereum - all worked as expected. I am not a newbie.

First symptom :
Recently I noticed that my BCH value in Coinomi had not changed one cent for at least two days (I check daily at least), which was obviously wrong.

Wallet Restore :
I had my Recovery Phrase in hand (of course), so I un-installed Coinomi, re-installed it and then performed a Wallet Restore from the phrase.

No BitCoin Cash :
My Bitcoin value and transactions were all restored succesfully, and so too my Ethereum.
But I had NO BCH, and NO BCH transaction record either :( while the wallet showed correct BCH blockchain height.

A sweep failed to find them :
I recovered my 20 private keys from the (BIP44 compatible) Recovery Phrase, and then used Coinomi to manually sweep each one - they all reported as empty within about 2-3 seconds.

A different wallet worked :
So, I found another wallet that supported BCH and BIP44 Recovery Phrases, performed a sweep using the phrase and succesfully recovered all my BCH in about 30 seconds ! :)

So -
It's not really clear what the cause was, but it's a serious problem, and it may indicate a bug in Coinomi.
Beware.

Don't expect much help from support (hi Joe!) - I reported that a Wallet Restore had failed, and he said in response that a Wallet Restore 'will' work, because I had probably used a different version of Coinomi !

If you got BCH due to the fork split there is a different dirivation path than there would be if you just created a BCH wallet at startup.

I expect if you add a BCH wallet to your Coinomi app using the M/44H/0H/0H you would see your BCH.

---

Not sure the original issue. Sometimes the wallet doesn't connect to the blockchain, or perhaps the server it was talking to was behind a bit... was the height correct?

Gday,

Yes, I suspect that was a key factor in my problem.

I expect if you add a BCH wallet to your Coinomi app using the M/44H/0H/0H you would see your BCH.

I didn't try that, and I've moved my coins now. I have not yet studied the details of derivation paths.

Not sure the original issue. Sometimes the wallet doesn't connect to the blockchain, or perhaps the server it was talking to was behind a bit... was the height correct?

When the initial freeze happened, I did not notice if the height was correct, but I suspect it was not.

I think I hit two problems :

  • my Coinomi lost connection to the block-chain (for some unknown reason)
  • my Restore failed because of the derivation issue as you mentioned

Anyway, I learned some more, and didn't lose my BCH !

I added Coinomi to the Cheddur app (https://www.cheddur.com/) given the details I could find on the website. This will allow more people to learn about Coinomi and get started. We’ve also linked all of the coins, countries, and apps that Coinomi supports / can be legally used in, this way new users can discover Coinomi based on the coins they own, where they live, or the devices they use.

If you've used Coinomi, don't forget to leave a review! The more popular the service is (via ratings), the higher it will appear in search results and the more likely new users will find it! :)

Coinomi and Flixxo, an awesome partnership

https://medium.com/@flixxo/coinomi-and-flixxo-an-awesome-partnership-2fff0fe01a5f

Buenos Aires, November 10th 2017: Flixxo, the community based video distribution platform built by Popcorn Time creator and RSK co-founder, has partnered with Coinomi to natively support Flixx tokens in their popular android wallet. Coinomi will also be allowing one click contribution directly from their wallet into Flixxo´s ongoing token sale, which is about to surpass USD3 million.
“It is awesome taking Flixx to Coinomi, as it is an outstanding tool for our users to easily handle and trade their tokens after the ICO. We are confident that this partnership will also lead awareness on our project into their wide community. On the other hand, having George (Kimionis) as part of our advisory board will ensure a better adoption of our token into exchanges and other wallets, as well as an organic interaction with other tokens”.........

Is this the official Coinomi thread? Or can someone suggest me a link to a thread for coinomi support?
By any chance, has anyone experienced not showing their balance for a specific coin in their wallet? I am currently having that issue and raised it to their support but I doubt if they can respond me asap.

Gday xianbits :)

Dunno if it's exactly 'official' or not, but I have received help here and so have others.

I found the Coinomi tech support to be pretty use-less -
I reported : "help, my wallet restore failed with blah blah error..."
He replied : "a wallet restore WILL work, you probably used a different version" (his emphasis !)

Anyway - yes, I have had Coinomi lose just one currency (after a restore.)

It may be related to what type of coin - whether it is a mainline coin like BTC or ETH, or a split-coin like BCH or BTG, or a derived coin like ENJIN coin (based on Ethereum.)

Can you give us more details ?
Which coin ?
Did a Restore lose it ?
Any other clues ?

Meanwhile, I have my own Coinomi problem :(

Maybe someone can help me out a little ? :)

I have some ENJIN coin in Coinomi, and a little ETH too.

I can send a moderate amount of ETH out (~30,000), but when I send too much (~300,000) I receive the error "Gas limit too high". After that, every transaction (even a small amount that succeeded before) fails with a generic error "Transaction failure". Next day the small one works again. Odd.

Any suggestions ?

Well, I am referring to my LTC balance. It says 0, and that I never had a receive and sens transactions ever. It happens when I wake up in the morning. My other coins' balances were good, only this litecoin. I didn't had a restore or any other upgrades with the wallet. Plainly, it happened for no reason. I keep on refreshing many times.
After maybe 5 to 6 hours, the balance returned but their support never had any words.
I don't want to happen it again so instead of asking to solve my issue (it's now solved), I will be asking if what has happened/ why it happened so I can prevent it from happening again?

Hmmm, that's odd, not sure what that is.

My suggestion - when your LTC are OK, then transfer them out to another wallet.

Coinomi support doesn't seem to be very good :(

I think Coinomi is buggy - mine has completely stopped working now, I'll be moving to another wallet (again.)

It looks to me that Coinomi connects to various servers to get block chain data for the various coins. If you go to the specific coins balance page it will show the "height", which is the last block it knows about. If that is current, it could be the server you are hitting is a bit behind. Pull down on the screen for it to do a refresh. Sometimes it says "no connection" and can't update.

So, I expect in your case there was an issue with the litecoin server or servers they connect to. I'm not sure you can do anything to prevent it from happening. I expect the "height" on the LTC page said 0.

The good news is, the wallet holds your keys, not your coin. If you have your seed your funds are safe and on the block chain. You didn't lose anything, it's just a display, communication issue with the LTC server.

I myself hope it can somewhat be compiled by which coin user he chooses. I do not know how hard it is technically, but since there are so many altcoins that appear and disappear, I think the ideal is every user can decide which coin coins are the most.

There are no fees other than the miner fees for whatever blockchain you are using.

Yesterday and aday before yesterday I've encountered a problem while trying to send ERC20 tokens from Coinomi to Ledger. 9/10 times I've had an error message and "send all" button inserted NOT token amount (f.e. 774), but apparently ETH amount (like ~0,31). After several trials I was finally able to send all my tokens, but there was definitely a glitch. Did any of you encountered the same problem during the past several days?

Really great to see that the Coinomi wallet is finally available for IOS. It took a bit longer as expected, currently 7 coins are supported and a lot of Ethereum tokens. Would be great if also other coins wil be added in the near future but give this wallet a big chance to become the leading IOS wallet for a lot of coins.

When can we expect the IOS release the website still show 'coming soon'. This message is there for a long time now.

Not sure what you mean by "grayed" out. You mean because the tx isn't confirmed yet? If you look at your address at blockchain.info does it show the correct balance and transactions?

As long as you have your seed it's not too much of an issue. Several wallets use the same seed method. I know the Jaxx wallet does and I'm pretty sure Electrum does as well.

Your "coins" aren't in the wallet, your keys are. Your coins are on the blockchain.

When you say "NOTHING" you mean it doesn't show your balances?

Jaxx uses the same seed algo.

But, what coin is it? Sounds more like network issues than wallet issues.

That might be either of the following:

  • Network issue from your end, letting your wallet de-sync every time.
  • Issue in your RAM, where the wallet keeps freezing after conducting a certain number of transactions.

Thank you for your help. But damn it, upon close inspection of the records the recovery passphrase is password protected. My mistake, now I dont know what password I set on the recovery phrase.

He stated about the extra password after entering the seed.

I'm expressly trusting that it's to some degree configurable by the client which coins it bolsters. I don't know how hard that is actually, however since there are such a significant number of altcoins showing up and vanishing continually, for the dev to choose which to help would be a horrible undertaking that he's continually lingering behind in. I think the perfect is that every client can choose which coins-of-the-day he is keen on. No thought how conceivable that is.

I imagine that the Universal wallet thought is fundamental to the achievement of cryptographic money. Ideally you are taking a shot at a wallet form that can be utilized on the backend of site servers. It would be great if a site business could acknowledge crypto coin from a greater part of the coins that exist. A general wallet in conjunction with programming that can naturally exchange and change over the alt coin to bitcoin and additionally USD is imperative. In the event that individuals can utilize their most loved coin to buy merchandise and ventures this will be a shelter to the whole cryptocoin ECO System. .

Take a look at Abra. A wallet with a built-in distributed exchange seems to do what you are asking for.
