Maybe a stupid question, but can't the lightning network actually be considered a mixing service?

nice! thanks for posting this
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Holding for long might not be the best option. on: November 12, 2023, 01:08:59 PM
I first started GPU mining in 2013 on Slush's pool and when the first ASIC USB miners were coming out I wanted some, so I ended up buying 30 Bitcoins off eBay which were @130 a piece. People were saying to not mine that I would be better to just hold the Bitcoins and now I know they were right. (first mistake). A few months into my ASIC mining the wife kept asking me about it and would question the value if any the coins I had mined. I decided to prove to her they did and on a trip overnight I was going to pay for our motel thur Expedia with BTC and I did which was @half a coin, @$140 (second mistake).  I spent the next 6+ years selling off out dated miners and buying better ones to the point I was heating my house during the cold winter with the heat the miners were putting off in my basement. I would place selling points, that if Bitcoin ever hit I would sell some, which $1,000 I did, then $5,000 I did, and my last was @$38k. I look back and the people that said to hold were right, but its hard to not cash some in after you ride the wave up and back down a few times.  Now my wife refuses to  sell what we have, unless it become life changing amount, which we are not hurting for money at this point, so I look at my BTC as insurance and its why I have it not on an exchange any longer and keep on holding.
4  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ASICWAY miners on: November 02, 2021, 01:12:14 PM
Never heard of this and I tried to check it on whois but it seems that the domain is pretty new it's just a few months old. I never trust any newly registered domain so I suggest you don't buy to them instead go directly to the manufacturers or verified distributor.

Code:
Domain:asicway.com
Registrar:PDR Ltd. d/b/a PublicDomainRegistry.com
Registered On:2021-07-27
Expires On:2022-07-27
Updated On:2021-07-31

Another thing that I found is the scam accusation that you can find here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5365880.0

Thanks. I have not been asic mining for the last 2+ years and someone else asked me about ASICWAY. I did go to the buy page and they emailed me a link for the cart ( I don't plan on buying) but the email came from a BIT HARP.com, not sure who they are but another one to avoid.
5  Bitcoin / Hardware / ASICWAY miners on: November 01, 2021, 11:33:40 AM
Just wondering if anybody has bought from ASICWAY yet and a review of their shipping and equipment. Their website says they are in California something just don't seem right.

EDIT: Anybody in Sunnyvale Calif that can go check them out

Kana we may not always have seen eye to eye on some issues, but i mined on your pool as I always felt you to be honest. I have not mined in a few years and was wondering where the same amount came from when it showed up. Thank you
7  Economy / Speculation / Re: Correction has started? on: January 05, 2021, 12:43:30 AM
BTC and ETH are taking back off up
8  Economy / Speculation / Re: Correction has started? on: January 04, 2021, 03:02:26 PM
Corrections are very healthy as it just builds new bases to work up from. We are better to have smaller and more often correction that less often and big ones. Holding my coins steady here.

I don't think the math works for me to be buying.
10  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: BITMAIN announces Antpool on: January 07, 2017, 12:20:53 AM
Could be after China said what they did today...they are shutting down the pool?

TIMBER!....
12  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Quick question, kano.is or slushpool? on: December 08, 2016, 04:06:31 PM
Hello, a year ago i was mining at kano.is and it was performing really good! I stopped mining for X reason but now im back again, but now i heard people saying that slushpool is better now than kano.is? Kano luck has diminished too.

Is there a better pool? any recommendations thanks?

My first pool was on Slush and I even found my first block there. It is a pool that had payout problems while I was there, of not paying the proper amount. Then you always have the problem of not getting paid anything if your miners go down within in a certain time before the next block is found.

Since I left Slush I have tried just about every other pool and have found kano's to be the best for me as a set it and not have to babysit it pool. Well ran and honest, so my advice is Kano's pool.
13  Economy / Services / Re: [BIT-X.com] Earn Bitcoins by Posting | Signature Campaign on: August 29, 2016, 09:25:46 AM
Announcement

After nearly 2 years, over 330 thread pages, and more than 300 BTC paid out, the CoinsBank signature campaign will be closing down as of September 1.

I'd like thank every member who has participated, especially to those who have stuck through the issues until now (and until the very end hopefully).

A final payout and announcement will be made on September 1 for all members wearing the signature (normal rules applied).

Once again, thank you to those who made the CoinsBank signature campaign incredible! Smiley

Best regards,
Marco

Sorry to see it end but thank you and good luck with any future endeavors.
14  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer S7 & PSU with warranty for only $320/miner on: August 11, 2016, 12:42:52 AM
I thought this was PSU and miner for $320. Might want to clarify the title.

You are right...the title says Miner &PSU for $320  the " /miner " means nothing to me?
15  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer S7 & PSU with warranty for only $320/miner on: August 11, 2016, 12:41:02 AM
Legally in the U.S., if you pay for an item, you're supposed to get it working.  They are supposed to pay for shipping return if it arrives not working.  But since this is from China, it's a bit hard to get them to conform to U.S. laws.

As for warranty, I'm not sure of this but isn't a length of time not start from the purchase date but from the date it arrives when shipped?

Warranty:

1. A 90-day warranty is provided starting from the shipping date. To avail this warranty a Repair ticket must be generated by the customer on Bitmain's website. Overclocking the miner will void the warranty immediately.

https://shop.bitmain.com/productDetail.htm?pid=00020160713024226814s1251rAW0637

so i guess to extend it some...just file a repair ticket on day 89 ...just in case...and drag it out as long as you can Smiley

any updates?
17  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [35 PH] ** 5x AVALON6 GIVEAWAY ** Kano CKPool (kano.is) [0.9% PPLNS] US,DE,SG on: May 09, 2016, 09:11:26 AM
To clarify why Kano makes us wait to hit a block for payments to clear.  We had more then 250 miners so a payment has more then 250 entires and takes about 45,000 bytes.

Kano pays a .002 fee to send the block payment. If you want real fast confirm on a 45,000 byte transaction you need .01 not .002.

So we save at least .008 in fees on every payment made.

To top it off almost every fee he pays .002 x 850 = 1.7 coins ends up in the fees  of the blocks we hit.

So we saved at least 6.8 coins. And we added about 1.7 back to our blocks. That is the up side. A gain of 8.5 btc for the pool.  The down side is payments slow up just a bit.

I did a few estimates the one of 6.8 btc in fees not spent and 1.7 btc in fees added back is the conservative estimate.

And we just hit a block so payments will confirm now.

thanks phil for explaining it. (i was not worried but did wonder how that worked also)
18  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S7 is available at bitmaintech.com with 4.86TH/s, 0.25J/GH on: April 25, 2016, 09:30:01 AM
Can you at least make it to the login page or the initial password screen, then to this main page with blank data?

If so,  you have a few options

1st be to factory reset the S7 with a paperclip.  There is a pin hole next to the Ethernet connector and use a paperclip and press and hold the button for about 10 seconds and let it go and wait for about 30 seconds and then physically reboot the S7.  This may restore it to the factory default setting.

If this does not help, you may want to go find 8gb microSD card, and create a bootable MicroSD card and insert it into the microSD slot of the S7 and power it off and power it back on.  Let the S7 complete the boot process and if possible, let it run as is for about 5 minutes then your Beagle Bone Black may be restored to the factory default setting.

If none of these works, your Beagle Bone Black or the Control PCB may be damaged.

Antminer S7 B10 not connecting to the setup page. Nothing is configurable, miner is inaccesible.

Someone told me they fixed this in a new firmware update. Is this true? Im afraid to do a firmware update and that my miner will brick.
Nice to see you return

All April  23rd dates above.

and this is:

A Jan 14th date

 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1165628.msg13548650#msg13548650

So you have been gone for 100 days.

A) I hope you stick around and help people with s-7 gear.

B)  please solve my s-7 batch 1 issue  it under preformed and you never sent me any compensation for it.

C) based on the compensation you gave to us at li's group it should be 67 USD.

So send me
67 USD worth of BTC here is my address

 1JdC6Xg3ajT3rge3FgPNSYYFpmf53Vbtje

I have talked to yoshi months ago and sent a lot of emails asking for this money

no money.

I even said send me a coupon when I buy my next s-7

I purchased 17 of them no coupon.

Do not say the 100 dollar coupon counts  as it is not any bigger then the ones sent with out my bad batch 1
Frankly it would need to be a 167 dollar coupon not a 100.

I don't understand a company like yours .  I gave you 50,000 usd in business  I supported you gear.  At this moment I am trying to help a few people with bad s-7s'

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1423701.0

And you blew me off for 67 USD  that is truly dumb on the part of your company. really bad business.

It has reached the point that I wrote some truly nasty posts.

That is not my nature. I rather you fix this issue for me then chase after you and other bitmaintech workers.

Good luck Phil on getting this resolved. I have been following this and am waiting to see if you get whats due to you.

Anyone else miners all stopped submitting shares, also when I login I get kicked out straight away, Kano can you please help, username is Ares on website?

Pool is having some issues as kano posted above. My miners are submitting shares but have the same results as you trying to log in. Just have back up pools on your miners and let kano get things sorted out.
