1  Economy / Economics / Re: Low wages and high real estate price rent and buying prices are main problems on: Today at 05:11:00 AM
Never mind New York and London, it is creeping into any major town in the devwloping world. The problems are deeper. Demand for real estate outstrips supply. Buyers are not local, the real locals are also at fault for selling.

Good Russian money, now sanctioned in the West, all welcome in Africa and Southeast Asia. Locals think ahort term. Instant cash for a new car or or house, sell their land and move farther inland.

It runs deeper than that, of course, landgrabbing is not new, but with prime all gone, now the middle class is rushing to meet that demand.

Can't fight that, but Bitcoin does help alleviate that issue for you personally. If you earn a salary, save as much of it in Bitcoin. At least it will keep up with inflation and real estate appreciation.
2  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⚽ Sportsbet's EURO 2024 Last Man Standing - 0.1 BTC minimum reward ⚽⚽⭐ on: Today at 02:09:26 AM
I just hate the fact that I had Turkey not to lose, but unfortunately with Under 2.5 goals, so I feel quite undone there having backing Turkey and they indeed didn't lose the game, but with 5 points in total and a guaranteed spot for the next, maybe it not so bad after all... All I just need to do is starting to catch with the leaders at the top of the pile, since I'm even at the risk of getting eliminated from the beginning.

Yeah, it's like hitting 4 legs on a 5 leg acca, or a Betbuilder with just one missing item, when deep down you know you took that stupid small leg just for a price boost you didn't really need.

I doubt I can make up the ground, every round others do better, but I am hoping for some small little doses of bad luck for the rest of you Wink

The Cro2 snake blood is too strong, and once aboard, disembarking from the ship is extremely difficult. I'm still considering my options, but I might come over and stay for the purpose of BSFL having a "Sherrif," even if it means sharing free points every week.

Don't worry, I'm working on a larger house, so when you come, you'll have a wonderful pool to swim in.

Working on taking my management to the next level BTW.

I'm happy to hear that. I would probably bother you just a bit more than I would others to ensure we keep one of the perennial losers in our group of dirty old bastards Wink

Oh don't worry, I will come to your house some day. Hopefully the pool is filled with other things more interesting than water haha. This forum is leveling up in so many ways, glad you're part of that.
3  Economy / Speculation / Re: I AM DCA-ING on: Today at 12:40:29 AM
Too long (not really), didn't (really) read. But welcome to the club. Welcome to getting your life back, to finally acknowledging that you aren't a (good) trader, and that you can still load up on BTC over time, perhaps never be as fabulously wealthy as others, but ensuring that if your immediate future isn't so clear, then many cycles down the line, you (or those you care for) can protect yourself against the naughty ill effects of regular money.

The headache-free world of DCA is really quite something to appreciate later on.
4  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [DISCUSSION THREAD] ⚽PREDICTION POOL AMERICA CUP U.S.A 2024 ⚽ on: July 03, 2024, 06:50:40 AM

Goodbye USA. And fitting for Panama too, progressing past Bolivia. The US guys will complain about refereeing. But they only have themselves to blame, shouldn't be surprised as this is Uruguay.

One more win for me, another freebet for me. How you guys doing?

I would have liked the United States to have qualified, mainly because they were playing at home and would have been excited and raised more interest for the 2026 World Cup
But losing to Panama ended their chances of qualifying  Tongue
United States should have beaten Bolivia and Panama and gone into the game against Uruguay with 6 points and with the knowledge that it's extremely difficult to beat Uruguay

Yeah, I was reading quite a bit about despondent fans, grimacing with Berhalter out sentiment. Maybe it's really unfair of me to have said such things about USA but I won't take it back.

All these international talents not playing to win, you can lay the blame on the players, no problem. Coach, no problem. But then out you go.

Anyway, another set of more or less predictable games. I had hoped for Brazil to win for another competition. But I do fear Samba resurgence after a poor group showing.

I normally think in cup games the winner is emboldened and tempered by difficult group games. Uruguay seem to be breezing so not sure if I should be pleased.
5  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⚽ Sportsbet's EURO 2024 Last Man Standing - 0.1 BTC minimum reward ⚽⚽⭐ on: July 03, 2024, 04:56:06 AM
Netherlands should easily have been about 2-4 goals up at half time to say the least, they really should have put this game to bed already because they created way too many chances that was squandered and that could hunt them in the 2nd half because Romania are a deadly team while on the break or counter attack, just like they did versus Ukraine in the first game of the group stages. And if not for anything Austria have already made it know how vulnerable the Dutch defense can be sometimes too.

Pretty good waking up to 3-0 in the end. Even better to see the Turks somehow put Austria to the sword. The Dutch aren't brilliant but at least they're putting on a much better show than the bloody English (all offence intended to the footballing nonsense we've been served up).

I have one outright ticket alive and I'm a lot more hopeful now than I was before if I'm being honest. Just wish I could learn to like Weghorst a bit more.

Netherland dominated against Romania and they shouldnt have big problems against their next rival if they continue playing like today.
I dont believe they can get into EURO final and win the trophy, but I can see them playing against England or Swiss in semi-finals.
We have few days break in EURO, so better prepare for final stages and race for Last Man or Woman Standing  Grin

Yeah, they were 18/1 pre-tournament and probably fairly so, and there's not enough in them to suggest they could take on an in-form France/Spain in the final if they get that far, but there's also just so little in all these teams left bar Spain to tell me there is one clear favourite.

Last Woman standing? There hasn't been a woman on the Internet since...

And my padi Igebotz come on man, don't make me feel like life is not worth living anymore. Stay with the pain, and be with us today and forever! Yes I know you said BSFL but I am saying it here as well.

Trust me, I'm not retiring because I was relegated and will be playing against farmers next season on a cold Thursday night. It just doesn't feel like I'm giving my all anymore, with limited time to conduct research and so on. I'm currently working on a large project offline + with Stake.com management and all that. If the project is completed by the time BSFL resumes, I will surely be on the shit for real.

BTW how did I went from 1 point to 4 points on just two questions? Hahah that's another free bet... I've already cooked the last one with Turkey.

I know how it feels, but it's like one of those things. Just do it, until you can do it better. Be like me in FPL, there for no other reason than to give me some kind of justification to be "around" haha.

Stake.com campaign? That place needs a cleanup and you're the perfect guy for it! Don't forget your brothers when you are rich from your big project man Wink

Ah, the sweet sweet smell of underdog success and some luck at the Copa means I now lead 2-0 against vd309. Not that this tie is over, far from it, but it does feel a bit different being able to watch a bit of football while my opponent is likely asleep. Brazil should have still won -- but we both had it as an answer so it didn't matter anyway.

Shame about them though, eh Slissy?
9  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⚽ Sportsbet's EURO 2024 Last Man Standing - 0.1 BTC minimum reward ⚽⚽⭐ on: July 02, 2024, 04:53:37 PM
Well, turning in now after the end of the second half but Netherlands should see this out. Can't see anything to suggest Romania will force a different result. Bodes well for my NL outright. Not that it will be enough to overcome the likes of Spain or France in a potential final (yes, I deliberately erase England from this equation).

Bad luck, ye bastards.

Oh and Harkorede, I do have a lot to lose. Can still relegate if I lose actually!

11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 21 Rules of Bitcoin - Michael Saylor on: July 02, 2024, 12:42:14 AM
Anyone else get creeping skin listening to influencer vibes from Saylor of all people?

Don't mind the guy in general (or I simply haven't heard enough to dislike him), but the very first "rule" just gnaws at me. "Those who don't understand Bitcoin criticise it" what sort of rule is that, and why does it have to be a rule? When did we stop liking (constructive) criticism?

"Those who understand buy". That. Is simply untrue.
12  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⚽ Sportsbet's EURO 2024 Last Man Standing - 0.1 BTC minimum reward ⚽⚽⭐ on: July 02, 2024, 12:29:45 AM
Ironic, really. Had I followed my usual leanings, I'd have gone for Slovenia not to lose, and others, but anyway, I still got points from France win, Germany wins -- which were against my leanings.

So all in all, scales seem balanced and I have 3 points. Probably safe to not get relegated, but not in contention for prizes. You bloody bastards.

^^ Anyone who thinks the Dutch boy has in fact become matured cheese after all these years just got proof served up that he's really the same old petulant brat deep down who can't stand being beaten.

Sure, other greats were the same, and to me it doesn't factor into how great an athlete is, but yeah, let's just accept he's who he is and move on along. No need to call him out and ask for apologies. He's a shit, but F1 has always liked little shits ;P

Going blind in on this one, people. Last round, feels like it deserves my full Yolo energy, so am going to open the link right after this and fire in my answers.

Of course, if it requires team names and all that, like it usually does, I'll still have to Google a couple of things.

Life is good, isn't it boss?

We about to say bye-bye England?

It's really weird for me to see that almost everybody went with India to beat South Africa in cricket finals. Odds were not known at that time.
Anybody knows the odds of the final? I guess it was close to 50-50, in here it was 95-5 Grin

India winning cricket just always makes sense to me, if Australia isn't playing. The odds were very close, as you say, 50-50. Even after India batted, BBC odds (the live odds I follow) hardly budged from 50%. And it wasn't until S. Africa were halfway done (when I posted) that it finally moved past 55%.

Just makes sense to me to back India every time cricket makes it into BSFL. Has always worked Tongue Who am I to question?
18  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the reputation or guarantee of casino sites being advertised here? on: June 30, 2024, 03:06:21 PM
Learn how the Trust feedback and settings work. That will give you a good view of the experiences users here have had with the respective sites. Bear in mind, not all are objective, and not all are even accurate (some members don't update feedback).

But in essence, the trust score is one of many barometers you can use. If it's high, it's because of the weight of reputation of those forum members who trust them (10000 members with no reputation can't impact the trust score).

That said, there's no guarantee. Reputation, trust, they're funny things. In the newsroom they say you're only as good (and bad) as your last byline -- just because a casino's been great for 10 years doesn't guarantee they won't crap on you the next day.

Yo, Saint-loup my man, conqueror of pools in seasons past, you've abdicated the throne so soon?

Guess it's Italy? Haha
The Italians were terrible throughout the match, I thought I was taking a calculated risk by going for a draw but it was not even close at all, I now fancy Switzerland against England or Slovakia, whoever wins.

Well you have to fancy Slovakia then, in that case Wink Asses are being kicked, and golden asses too, good talents being handed theirs on a plate. I don't see the odds any longer here, it seems the underdogs have found a way to be a hell lot bigger than the sum of their parts.
20  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏁🏎️ Sportsbet.io🏁 FORMULA 1 2024 Season🏁🏎️Prediction Pool Discussion Thread on: June 30, 2024, 03:27:28 AM
Verstappen seems to have woken up from some kind of stupor, eh? I even picked Norries to pole, like swogerino says, some kind of massive effort took that hope away.

Just when I think I get smart (me having Max on pole past races) and switch to Norris (even was toying with Russell), Verstappen kicks me in the groin. Giving up anyway.
