Officially throwing in the towel. My fault mostly, for not entering MD subs or transfers in time. Jota (captain) didn't even play. Lukaku once more denied by VAR. And the icing on the cake, KdB, who I couldn't sub in, scored.

I'm just going to transfer out on a wildcard now, keep most probably, use up my cards, but I can't see a way back in. Also, travelling tomorrow and only able to properly look on Tues/Wedn, so I'm probably going to suck it up and play for fun.

GL guys!

Sweet, freebets received, and duly spent Wink TY Steve!

Oh cool you have same pick with me!
~
Just got a sweet surprise from Sportsbet today! A Newcastle away shirt and the best one, a Sao Paulo home shirt signed by James Rodríguez himself! Oh man he is a legend, I will frame the shirt properly for sure! Seems I have used all of my luck for a whole year, and it's not disappointing at all Grin

Then we'll both be $250 richer at the end of Copa, plus all those freebets/chips. Not bad for a no-brainer Uruguay pick, eh? Wink

And a signed shirt from Colombia's captain, wow. Icing on the cake, good on you!
423  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [DISCUSSION THREAD] ⚽PREDICTION POOL AMERICA CUP U.S.A 2024 ⚽ on: June 22, 2024, 09:33:59 PM
Hahaha man for me is no problem, since you are a regular and we only has passed two games if you want put your picks just in case everybody agree with this, we can made an execption since the pool is small and is not big money.

I'm fine with this if everyone is. Everyone picked Argentina anyway, and he still missed the 2nd game, 1 point would have been what he'd gotten at least. So do I understand this means we get a late participant, and just +1 point to their total at the end? If so, go for it. But I don't think we should be accepting any more late players after tonight (or we can, if they don't mind losing out on early points).

Don't want a case of people trying to see if they could predict well and then join late when they have many points, is all Wink

Ahhh man! How Czech Republic cant beat Georgia, they have plenty of chance in the second time, also they were nearby to lsoe it in the last ball. I need that point man!

I thought this was a lost cause for me, picking 0-3 points. I gambled on Scotland winning and Georgia, despite my belief in them, would not get a single point this tournament.

And then we get both draws. 1-1 is the score of MD2 it seems. Good for me, since if Scotland did actually win, I'd be with 2 points. As it stands, 4 points in a stretch, I would love to get the last one and stand tall with 5! But VAR doesn't love Lukaku at all..!
425  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BC.Game 🦁 Fantasy Pool | Euro 2024 ⚽ Discussion Thread on: June 22, 2024, 03:27:26 PM
Definitely not my week. Couldn't make my subs last night, and rushed home today to try again, but I guess you can only sub for a period in the morning before the first MD? My poor expensive KdB is sitting on the bench, I was hoping to sub out one of my 1-pointers for him.

I'm really good at Fantasy, aren't I?
426  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⚽ Sportsbet's EURO 2024 Last Man Standing - 0.1 BTC minimum reward ⚽⚽⭐ on: June 21, 2024, 09:02:58 PM
Finally, out of the "zero" zone with 2 points today. 4 whole points this entire contest so far, while jeremypwr has 8 and b1gfudge has 10(who on earth is this?!?!). If things don't turn around for me, I am also questioning buyins beyond group (or am I bluffing?).

So it seems Lewandowski wont make it to the starting lineups. I dont really follow Poland so I have no clue about them at all, I thought Lewandowski should start especially after they lost the 1st game. Are those starters even better than Lewandowski?

As Rikafip already wrote, both strikers in the questions were fit, fighting recent injuries in friendlies to play full games (remind me why I hate friendlies). I guess especially Lewie was a muscle they didn't want to risk unless they absolutely needed to. I like Pistol Piotr, though, too bad he's not enough.
427  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [DISCUSSION THREAD] ⚽PREDICTION POOL AMERICA CUP U.S.A 2024 ⚽ on: June 21, 2024, 06:47:41 PM
Hey guys, in case you're a Sportsbet user and like to bet on outright markets like me, check out my post here.

A good start, it's a short competition so every correct result counts a lot.

@darxiaomi - would be good to have rewards defined since the tournament already started.
Whatever you decide is OK, it's for fun anyway Smiley

Yeah, immediate regret picking an unlikely 4-0, but I thought I was being smart.

3 prize spots you said darxiaomi? I'll go for that, it doesn't change the prize much and gives one more person, potentially a new person, a taste of winning. Then we hook them in and rob them blind Wink

There will be 32 games in total, I can't afford to lose too many points, but I believe that the Copa America has more surprises than the Euro, so I think we're all going to miss some games
Today's match, for example, is more difficult to predict, Chile vs Peru
Venezuela vs Ecuador will also be difficult to predict as both teams are at the same level in the South American Qualifiers

My instinct says Chile and Ecuador here (not necessarily my prediction in pool) -- like you said, hard to pick, and harder still as I won't be watching any of them until next week when I'm in a different timezone, and likely, not able to anyway.

Monday's Uruguay vs Panama will tell me if I'm right all along about Darwin (cough cough).
428  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀-Sportsbet.io-🚀 Official Partner of Newcastle United Football Club on: June 21, 2024, 05:14:29 PM
Don't forget, there's also a Copa promotion going on. The outright promo I love and take every comp Sportsbet offers it: https://sportsbet.io/promotions/2024-copa-victory-rewards

Easy bet, just put $50 (the exact amount will be displayed in your selected/active currency) on any team in the outright market, you'll get a $5 freebet and $5 freechip for every win your selected team wins.

I got Darwin and co on my pick Wink

So the team that beat Belgium lost to the team that lost to Romania. Was somehow hoping Ukraine would lose as I need ONE team in any group to end the tournament with 0 points heh. As it stands, unlikely for Belgium to lose their next 2 matches.

At least I've climbed up 11 spots now... still far from darxiaomi but no longer rooted to the bottom.

Now Poland behind so hope they stay down! Edit: goddang equaliser!

Something's very wrong with England, they don't look like the team from the last Euros. They don't really look like a team at all.

Tell you what though, they're going far. In the most frustrating way possible. Penalties, shootouts, whatever it takes. If you want to quit watching football, watch teams like England.
430  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⚽ Sportsbet's EURO 2024 Last Man Standing - 0.1 BTC minimum reward ⚽⚽⭐ on: June 21, 2024, 02:46:18 PM
So, Lunin replaced as a starting GK. Trofo thought he would be, I should have listened to him Grin

At least this question is settled immediately, no reason to nervously follow the game. I did bet on BTTS though, so let's see how that goes.

I actually spent some time reading about this, but there was no conclusion I would find. Or perhaps I should have looked at Ukrainian sites.

Seems a bit too much to replace a keeper after a first game, most teams don't do that midway until repeated mistakes but I suppose their ruthlessness paid off. He's even on my fantasy roster, so out he goes (if I remember heh). Eh, Trubin was on it. But he gets 3 points anyway...

Staring down the barrel of 0 again.

^ Poor Perez Smiley

I'm going to do another round of weird picks. Absolute stunner of a race last one in terms of placing, and my gambles still didn't pay off. So I'll once more sprinkle some pixie dust and hope (other than Max) some of the unusual suspects get on the podium. Leclerc's got to be due a 2nd again no?
432  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [DISCUSSION THREAD] ⚽PREDICTION POOL AMERICA CUP U.S.A 2024 ⚽ on: June 20, 2024, 11:10:47 PM
I'm "importing" a quote below to bring the actual gamblers from Copa thread to the actual discussion thread =p

4 goals Argentina!

There has never been a team so bad... absolutely everything is missing... Neymar has been carrying this team on his back for more than 10 years. Vini Junior still hasn't shown what he came for in the Brazilian team
I don't totally disagree with you hehehe
But I remember coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo and Emerson Leão who had very bad results and their stubbornness really hurt the Brazilian team

I may be biased but Firminho carried Brazil a bit too during early qualifiers when things weren't certain, only to not feature once the finals arrived (last World Cup I mean). And there was the last 2019 Copa too. Apart from Neymar and one or two others, he actually had the best goal contribution per minute in that period and still others below him got selected (I don't remember the precise stats but I remember making the argument). Just because he didn't turn on the flair needlessly, he paid for it. Don't blame him, Tite used him weirdly.

I don't know what's going on now with the team but something's really not right there. So much talent but so few of them actually stepping up.
433  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BitcoinTalk's UEFA Euro 2024 Predictor pool discussion thread on: June 20, 2024, 07:20:50 PM
Italy's going to hold out for second half methinks...

Trent and Foden were withdrawn in the second half to bring on Bowen EZE as a midfielder but that didn't change anything - this game didn't change anything even boring in the stats England lost to Denmark, maybe Southgate thought with a draw they remained comfortable in Group C, but I was quite annoyed with his game. Angry

TAA's midfield experiment wasn't too bad, but felt like the whole team wasn't ready to risk anything much. Manager's orders I guess. Think England frustrates everyone in general, and definitely the most frustrating of all the teams thus far.

Remember the last Euro though. Boring wins, draws, wins. Looks like we're about to see the very same England all over again. Premier League may have the most modern attacking football, but English national football is reluctant to honour that tradition.
434  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⚽ Sportsbet's EURO 2024 Last Man Standing - 0.1 BTC minimum reward ⚽⚽⭐ on: June 20, 2024, 06:15:55 PM
Just glancing at the answers and I see I haven't really played differently from most people, but too lazy to compute against the top scorers so far. Just get the feeling even if I score more points (doesn't look like it at the moment though), everyone else will too.

Too bad about the Serbia booking points. It all looked pretty good for me in the first half. Can't buy luck the way things are going.
435  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀-Sportsbet.io-🚀 Official Partner of Newcastle United Football Club on: June 20, 2024, 04:06:09 PM
Wow, man, thanks! I didn't know about that. It's maybe because I never placed a 20 legs multibet in my life. I think I should try it. I remember making 12-15 legs and maybe even 16, but I never went up to 20. Now when I know about that 100% boost I will definitely be trying to place 20 legs' multibets from time to time.

Heh heh no problem. I hardly go beyond 5, if it's 10 or more, I'm really just going for fun. A 1 cent bet could turn into a million on a 20-leg quite easily though, as I showed from the screenshot of only semi-conservative bets.

Accas are for legs you're confident in -- I couldn't dream up 10 legs in a week!

Good luck, don't forget to share your 20-leg megawin Wink
436  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: McDonald's Bitcoin payment at El Salvador are broken, users complain on: June 19, 2024, 06:16:13 PM
Another reason why Bitcoin isn't the best choice to be used as a currency.

So much in the post that explains this isn't Bitcoin, but the payment processor (and as you said yourself, a problem later discovered to be with the Lightning node).

Now if they had just transacted on Bitcoin itself, there wouldn't have been a problem. Okay, one issue of consumer choice. I can pay 2800+ satoshi but do I want to pay the fee (today the recommended fee is about 43% of the payment)?

I'm not for or against LN but there's always that overlooked thing, not just in El Salvador but everywhere they tried using Bitcoin (or Lightning). You have to have the right support. Trained staff. People watching the nodes. Making sure the network's usable. A fault could also happen if using Bitcoin anyway, even if they were using BTCPay, for example, but it crashed. And you still couldn't say Bitcoin was at fault.

I'm sure if Martinez had known that buwaytress captained Jota, he wouldn't have bothered to bring him on--you captain Lukaku and Jota, and both had their goals disallowed in less than 48 hours. The jinx King...

Just so you guys know, I "decided" that my team roster would stay exactly the same. How did I decide? By thinking I did my transfers last night, one by taking out Szoboszlai and replacing with Kroos... and I guess I forgot to confirm. I suppose neither makes a difference.

Hhampuz and Rruchi man belongs to that list if we're being honest, whatever they have on their team and whoever they captain you just gonna skip and look for someone else. They're going to jinx you to death....  Cheesy

I would be honoured to be in the same category as Hhampuz. Today, I will jinx Switzerland as Xhaka's in my midfield.

This was an opportunity for he coach to learn, they were Lucky. Jota is a better option, he increases the. attacking threats for Portugal because he is a very good goal scorer with any part of his body.

This has been argued to death, even at the last Euro... I have given up on Portugal realising their potential. Hope it was just a MD1 "fooled ya" move.
439  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why can't other pools do the same as solo.ckpool to not mine empty blocks? on: June 19, 2024, 03:50:46 PM
As explained by others before and above (DaveF's one the easiest to understand), if you're a miner, it's all about balancing your books. If a few seconds matter, and the higher likelihood of a block reward outweighs the fees, even I'd go for it.

I've wondered myself in the past if "overpaying" fees is a way of tipping, to convince miners back then when empty blocks were more common, to include these high-fee txs.
440  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BitcoinTalk's UEFA Euro 2024 Predictor pool discussion thread on: June 19, 2024, 02:22:47 PM
Finally in, and I'm at the bottom, yay! I've always rated Georgia, but they still surprised me at the quality they could bring to the table. 2 "debut" goals, what a feast, eh?

Now Albania, supposedly whipping boys, leading against Croatia. I'm wondering if we should also start taking Slovakia and Romania seriously...
