Well, there you have it. We all said what we wanted, was it a bump in the road or was it the crumbling of an empire, but Max not only retook the win, he smashed it with 19 seconds, and got the fastest lap.

Judging from the pool, we all didn't think different, either, haha. Sucks to get 13.5 points and still drop a place, sigh.

Well, well, Ige you just ruined it for the poor few who went for Guirassy.

I promised not to check until tomorrow but couldn't help myself. Epic fight for promotion in Div2 and I'm actually incredibly surprised that I'm still not out of this round yet. I'm doing my best to lose, don't worry CLS63...

Not sure what I was thinking picking Wolves as the standout in my acca today. They were playing away, they can't score for crap, and it's Wolves. I just thought Hwang was on a streak, and then Pedro scores a man down I thought the gods of football forgave me but the draw actually seems a little harsh on Luton.

See if United can outdo everyone else today though. I have silly money on Burnley today just because.
1004  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀-Sportsbet.io-🚀 Official Partner of Newcastle United Football Club on: September 23, 2023, 01:41:29 PM
Right, I'm now 1 win and 2 insurance freebets on my first 5-leg accas of the season. Slapped freebets on Milan upset today and went in on another one featuring Wolves.

Don't forget your Bet-6-6 people: https://sportsbet.io/sports/bet-free-6-6

Oh and this little $15 Newcastle freebet gem too in case we've got casino heads.

I think i speak for everyone when i say europa league should be banned.

Rather bet on professional japonese wagyu cooking

You have not, then, been introduced to the horrors of Conference League, the scene of a recent comeback win from 3 goals down by a Bosnian team making its debut on hallowed UEFA grounds...

I hear there are crazy scandals in wagyu competitive kitchenry...
1005  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Odds, units advantage | Sportsbook | +90170 units on: September 23, 2023, 11:19:47 AM
No wins yet here, very sad. I have, of course, had sweet hits this early season but none featured here as I didn't feel they were that great value but City at home is always a great opportunity if you consider how hard it gets for them at times.

I'll share exact odds as am out and couldn't login book. But at Sportsbet it was roughly 19/1 IIRC with a boost.

100 units at Sportsbet on Forest to fight the impossible and WIN vs City.

Update stats later today.

I can't believe I've not played MajSev this season yet, incredibly busy this slipped my mind, even seeing two winners walk away with all that money, so put my picks in now finally for a shot.

Think I really need to say that this is the best version of MajSev yet. Liked the graphics on old one, but love the layout of new oone.
1007  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ Bundesliga ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread 2023/2024 on: September 22, 2023, 06:26:29 PM
Possibly, but Mainz should better get some points against Augsburg, a relegation contender. Striker Ajorque is back now and probably, he needs some game practice to get as efficient as he has been last season. Onisiwo should play as well.
Buuuut for you which coach is getting sacked first bet, it looks like Heidel (Mainz Manager) wants to keep Bo Svensson:

FSV Mainz 05: Heidel does not want a trainer discussion.

Of course, after a devastating loss against Augsburg, a relegation contender, Svensson could still get sacked.
After their weak first half against Darmstadt98, Gladbach is also a candidate, to get Seoane sacked.

Yeah I think the worse here is a draw, and they were expecting bad results with the layoffs. What clues me in, though, are the odds. Despite supposedly maimed and even relegation favs. their odds in the starting season matches have rarely climbed above 25/10. So despite what Bo or Helder say, their fans must feel that they were point to win that they didn't... and that pressure changes things overnight.

Of course, I also recognise I'm spouting absolute bullshit =)

Gladbach, being objective, does seem the one at likelier risk.
1008  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ Italian Serie A ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread 2023/2024 on: September 22, 2023, 04:45:46 PM
As my first season playing the Serie A prediction pool, I can definitely say that it hasn't been easy. I feel no matter how much research I do it still is all up in the air, but I feel I am getting to follow more closely the league which I haven't done in the past. Maybe this season for me will be more of a learning curve and maybe next season will be more competitive. All in all I am happy with the fun and excitement I get to partake every weekend which makes it well worth the investment.

I see you're digging deep into the thick of it on your maiden season, to be fair, participating like a veteran. I'm not anywhere near contention for anything in these classic pools but I will agree research won't help you much if you're not familiar with the league anyway. Watch a few games, for a few teams, probably gives you a better understanding of outcomes (but no scores) -- not that it works for me, but at least one should enjoy the games, if not able to get the scores!

Midway through the season gives you a better picture, anyway, there're just far too any points left to play for.
1009  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏆Rollbit.com | Champions League Pool | $11,000+ in Prizes ⚽️ Discussion Thread on: September 22, 2023, 03:34:39 PM
I hope you like the file!
It is still in the development phase, and therefore some glitches may occur. If you find it, I would appreciate it if you let me know.

If you have ideas, feel free.  Wink

It's much more functional than my draft version. I think we should just work to simplify if possible, before introducing (or thinking of) new functionality. I like it personally, great job!

Will double chance, boths score or TG over/under options be added to this in the future or will we just continue to play the "stake" points given to the results?

It's definitely a possibility. There are pros and cons:

Pros
  • Much more variety of markets
  • More diverse results and tactics

Cons
  • Each additional market creates a layer of manual verification, multiplied by # of players, increasing the risk of error
  • typical over/under, BTTS odds have a much narrower odds range than 1x2, so points difference would be very small

Maybe we could see a Pot B weighted pool next season. When we come back to the topic of taking risks I'm feeling myself like a fool because of closing the first week by 0 points.

Many, many seasons ago I played on indie fantasy that resembled classic FPL, but included weighted bonus, which was inverse to the cost of the player. e.g. Haaland scoring a goal is worth only the basic points, while Solanke scoring a goal is worth basic point with a higher multiplier.

I imagine a fairer prediction system that mixes Superbru classic system of base points for scores, but with a weighted multiplier based on likelihood of the predicted score. And you can even add layers of risk (pick a score, pick a scorer, pick an assist, or pick the route to the outcome).

I'm a huge fan of rewarding risk in all kinds of games, sportsbetting or even just gaming in general =)

So, my conclusion is simple: for getting a Top 20% result, I'm anticipating, a participant may need around at least x1.4 per round to get a Top 20% position and claim a prize spot.
Not sure about general numbers since like you've said, lots of favorites won and therefore, many people made good points by backing favorites but for our next round, numbers might change in case of upsets.

You think like I do. Guaranteeing to be in top 10 is not good enough -- you'll likely fall to 15th with nothing. I think it's wise to aim for big points in games you're confident in (BVB was that risk for me) and then hedging with others. It worked for vd309 for sure, now he has to repeat is. cryptofrka also won big. Generally non-sustainable over 40 games but we have only 10 Matchdays in UCL so you need to aim for variance, not consistency. Is how I feel!

Yes, great work joker and buway, I saw all the scores but forgot to give you guys credit for doing all of this. I hope Rollbit is paying you guys well lol

joker_josue all credit for sheet, my version will forever not be shown haha. Hhampuz credit for helping negotiate the deal with Rollbit.com

I hope it's not cliché to say we actually enjoy doing this -- it's just fun to see the forum revolve around many engaging topics.

No rain? So we can all lock our picks in and to hell with it right?

P.S. Big boys at Sportsbet office put their picks in also this week in jeremypwr's prediction thread (not that you guys are the ones needing reminders haha).

I'm wondering whether there will be people among the ones fighting for the championship who will make a choice other than Verstappen for the winner of the race or pole for the Japan GP this week. Especially for pole position I'm expecting to see Sainz Jr's name quite many times. The race in which Red Bull were bad this season has become the best race of the season. I hope that we can see this kind of races more often.

Bets? I'd do that any time most of the time. Superbru? Max is the Haaland of F1. You don't pick him, you lose. Sainz repeats a shocker and we'll have people considering switching camps though... but agree, RB bad form rather than blip would be way more interesting.
1012  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Secure Your Legacy, Educate Your Loved Ones on: September 22, 2023, 12:59:13 PM
I had this discussion a few times too and only once a year ago was it serious. I urge you, if you hold Bitcoin, to have this talk.

I advise underestimating your loved ones too when it comes to Bitcoin inheritance. I've experimented, with siblings of the same age, partner, and children. They all either forgot, didn't understand (and in the case of the one person I thought was the best, he even lost his private key and could not correctly explain recovery anyway).

I still worry, but important exercise to repeat and practise recovery with whomever it is you trust.

It's not much for me, but it's a year or two of relief for the family back home at today's prices.

Remember, it's not enough they know, and not even enough for "education" -- judging from the many so-called crypto users out there who lose their wallets. It must be something practical. Video walkthrough. Guide. Underestimate.

Friday is going to be busy, so many picks to make, solittle time to sit down and review potential effects from European competition but I decided to enter these picks early. Am provably (not probably? haha) going to be stubborn and stick by Freiburg (1-1 right now at HT away in Greece), why, because Doan must wake up!

Wise to go for another Mainz horror show?

M8 Lazio-Atletico draws weren't calculated correctly (comma intead of dot on the decimal, damn European autocorrect). cryptofrka now shares the lead with vd309 ooo...

So what do you guys think of Pot B format? Was it too difficult? Improvements?

I feel like only very few users didn't understand the rules so I think we don't need to fix the form.

I saw a variety of tactics but it should be noted that different tactics bring results reliant on actual match performances. Largely, the first match day gave predictable results, so safe tactics bring points, risky ones do not. Some highlights from MD1:
  • The best performers only doubled their stake and a bit in a round where favourites dominated.
  • The pool of 50 displayed a tendency for odds of below 2/1.
  • Unsurprisingly, the biggest favourites also attracted the fewest players: Real Madrid-RS Belgrade (7) and Barcelona-Antwerp ( 8 ).
  • Arsenal's better value odds didn't attract people, either, with only 7 staking on this game.
  • AC Milan - Newcastle, despite tight odds, attracted 22 players.
  • PSG-BVB was the most popular match, with 25 players staking. Interestingly, the majority of stakers (13) thought BVB would win. This was the pool's favourite pick for an upset.
  • Only 23 users ended up with more than 10 points.

Also, to try respond to posts I didn't before (sorry guys, not ignoring you at all).

@Trofo: Initially I really wanted to do this the way you suggested. A bankroll, that you can grow, winnings can be staked. This is the proper and chaotic way, but it's a nightmare because of form limitations (I have to check 50 players each with different bankroll to see nobody overstaked haha). But we'll keep experimenting!

@cryptofrka: Red card rescinded. Your total now correct. I liked your comment ex-forum about free forms. Play any "market", any combination, even parlaying outcomes. Again, limited by form functionality... and we also try not to become a Google form sportsbook haha.

@Mahdirakib nice catch, OP corrected!

Man, Liverpool just loves playing with fire, don't they, LFC_Bitcoin? I think this season, bet on them live after they concede...

Anyone else enjoying football in Europa League? Not the most illustrious names on display but there's still a lot of exciting football if you look. Didn't take any specials but have been having some good runs with 5-leg accas lately, hitting som and getting insurance back. Put another one on today with some favourites and so far so good.

Here's my latest winning ticket courtesy last night's footie:

Pot A leaders have built a healthy lead, and our Matchday 1 freebet winners are:
MoSala
cryptofrka
rohang

Sign up at Rollbit.com and PM me your usernames, please!

Pot B: vd309 is the only user to collect over 20 points, with 6 points staked on Milan-Newcastle. That was ballsy!

The Matchday 1 results are here. Leaderboard tab in development. Feel free to check and let us know if we made any errors.

Over 80% of users filled in the sheets without mistakes. Pretty good eh? Some comments to help us do this quicker next time:

- Some users marked matches and selected points but didn't select the "Stake" tickbox. We still count them. This was to make our job easier, but it's ok. Try to remember next time Wink Remember, tickboxes and selection radio buttons can all be unselected (simply click on them again). seek3r, royse777, rohang, Omikifuse, jayce, casperBGD, Mahdirakib, goodpunt you can say thank you for points given Wink
- Some users selected odds whether or not they staked points. No need for that (no harm done anyway).
- Some users marked matches by selecting the "Stake" tickbox but failed to choose the amount of points. These matches were disqualified.
- Some users entered more than 10 points. We count only the first 10 points. This is because we note that it can be difficult to keep track but in future if we see a significant deviation, we can choose to disqualify. entebah was a big offender here, attempting to stake over 50 points. Why, entebah, why??

The purpose of this post is ask if there be a way to ensure users can’t submit if their total points used is more the allowed, and a warning post informing them of the total used point if they didn’t use up to 10 points, that unused point are not being carried forward, so as to prevent these errors going forward, because we are very all aware of our delicate this pool can be being an odds based / risk-reward pool.

At the moment, not possible for advanced functions like calculating points in your bank -- if we switch to a more advanced form, it'll require people to create accounts and well, Google is at least semi-anon.

The fix we have is to count the first 10 points, ignoring all selections after that.
1017  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do crypto gateways compare to traditional methods in security & efficiency? on: September 21, 2023, 12:12:02 PM
The encryption and transaction recording methods of Bitcoin win hands down -- virtually impossible to crack, economically unfeasible to alter. Completely different story with the rest of crypto, mind you.

User security and efficiency, arguably loses by a distance for the day-to-day. Assuming the regular Joe makes mistakes once per several hundred transactions, or loses access, or falls victim to fraud/theft, they're generally protected/insured. Assuming regular Joe also likes his dozens of free/instant payments on regular fintech apps, hard to see Bitcoin use until lightning is as ubiquitous.

@CLS63 you are indeed [rimed to take the title. I took some risks ad they haven't [aid off like in previous rounds. United are shit, but Bayern have actually not been a shining light in Bundesliga but I should have known United would give away at least 2 effortless goals.

What do you need to keep first place in this round and win the title?
Can you do it even with a point from draw, if cls63 wins his match, or you need to win to make sure?
Very interesting last round, and we dont know much except the winner of Division 2.

A draw should be enough. Unless I lose big and CLS covers the deficit heh. $ more different answers so I could theoretically lose this spectacularly... I'm not going to check anymore until Sunday. Hate you, Bayern.
1019  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did anyone notice this pattern? on: September 20, 2023, 03:54:03 PM
Slow to the station, OP. Talked about often in these parts, hence the rubbishing by some (yours truly included) that this year or even next is the rally and ensuing bull run. Hey, plenty of time to fill those bags.

Completely arbitrary perhaps but I always feel that the halving effects are only realised later, even with pricing in, perhaps game theory dawns a bit after the fact, and the usual sheeple media piping it on months after it happens.
1020  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain Analytics is More of an Art Than Science on: September 20, 2023, 02:32:03 PM
Forensics (which is probably the more accurate term in this instance) is what practitioners might argue is anyway more of an art, grounded in science. I might say many others who use scientific bases to guide findings and discoveries think the same.

I've a partner working in (traditional) compliance and you can always teach the frontliners and KYC about the science, but the nuance and depth of analysis is really hard to land at -- blockchain or Bitcoin transaction behaviour actually simplifies some of that nuance (there us, for example, no possibility to fake, double spend, or retroactively change, unlike in traditional transaction trails).

Let's not forget that Chainalysis whistleblowing in the past certainly points to at least a degree of uncertainty in their own methods -- this was years ago. And they're at that basic frontline level banks have right now -- knowing some rules, some parameters, and not knowing enough how to recognise and exclude the (many) false positives that are easy to create.

Advanced forensics rely on matching digital fingerprints -- not merely dusting for fingerprints, which is what Chainalysis does.
