141  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏆Rollbit.com | Champions League Pool | $11,000+ in Prizes ⚽️ Discussion Thread on: April 04, 2024, 09:46:31 PM
Gentlemen, Champions League is back next week and I'm putting up the questions early for MatchDay 9 Pot B, only because it's a slightly different style for Pot B. It's fairly straightforward, so shouldn't need extra explanation but, you'll be able to stake points on:

- the regular 1X2 outcomes for the First Leg matches
- "bonus outcomes" for the Second Leg matches

Odds are lifted off Rollbit.com for the 1x2 First Leg outcomes. For Second Leg outcomes, I've taken some liberties -- some of these markets don't exist, but are based partially on 1st leg odds. I tried to give about 30-40% "boosts" on these, given that they are much riskier picks to make without knowing what can happen from now until the 2nd leg.

Feel free to ask questions to clarify, but it's really the same format. 10 points, which you are free to stake on any and all outcomes, 1 outcome per Match.

Matchday 10 will feature similarly:
- 1X2 outcomes for the First Leg
- "Bonus Outcomes for the Second Leg
- and Mega Bonus Outcomes for each of the 4 SF teams if they appear in the final!

Yes, I know, I'm making this up as I go. Sorry  Grin

With that, don't forget to enter your picks!

*Responses for current Matchday hidden until deadline has passed

Please enter your picks for both events. Both event deadlines are kickoff, 19:00 UTC (forum time) on 9 April 2024. Late match submissions won't be counted. Remember to fill in bitcointalk usernames exactly as it is =)

You surely mean SF's here, correct?

Let's see what you come up with, and then I'll do my round of complaining. Or won't, this actually gives me increased chances of winning Grin

Yes, you're right of course, Cro2 keeping me in check here haha.

Actually, you leaders might like this. It adds extra temptation for people to go for crazy odds, preventing more and more people from creeping up on you Wink

What about matchday 9 having both legs of QF so you can make your pick based on home field advantages? Smiley

I hope you like what I worked out. Odds aren't available for the second leg, and since 1X2 will largely depend on 1st leg results, I couldn't really make guesses on odds, so I tried to put outcomes that aren't (I hope) impacted too much by first leg results.

You know what, we are not even on the new season yet but I know for sure that I will be joining this pool again because this is pretty unique though and I'd love to take a part of all your interesting idea to make this pool even better mate !

You've no idea how happy I am to read this kind of feedback -- I think there are several people pushing the boundaries of what's possible in a text forum, and if this experiment contributes to that, we're all winning!

I think the 'mistake' was setting 10 Matchdays when some matchdays are 2 weeks of games apart. You can still increase Matchdays but yes Pot B leaders will be unhappy lol

Yep, that's a problem with us humans, isn't it? Our minds are stuck in decimal positioning. Everything must be in 10s to "look nice". Next season is going to need a lot more creativity for sure.

Yo buddy, you are certainly an opponent who is hard to beat. I knew you would consider some strategical decisions, I am doing the same. Not always is it the answer we would pick without external conditions to be taken into account. But I fully agree, I bet on the fact that you take the 2+ goals. I am not the guy who goes with single numbers. I mentioned this before here Wink But I thought 2 goals against City goes a bit too far. Usually, I would go with 0. But then I knew I would be dead in the water if Villa just hits a single lucky shot in the game. I decided to go against my usual strategy.

We still have a couple of things to look forward to, which is the good news. Good luck to you, you will need it! Tongue

Haha yeah, well we are in Div1 anyway, it should be hard every round. I'm pretty predictable in BSFL on some questions, and I don't mind people knowing those aspects about me.

E.g. Liverpool questions? It's Liverpool, usually by a big margin. Happy to have my opponent going against me there. Also, snooker, and e-sports, I'm going big favourites for finalists, all the time, and I expect to draw this one every question.

Agreed, it's nice to look forward to further questions, games over on Sunday are the sweet spot for BSFL enjoyment. Bad luck to you, you'll need it Tongue

Sweet win Betwrong, and Norwegian lights too, always a pretty sight on a 60/1 winner!

Preparing to take part in the Sportsbet.io Jackpot promos meself (thanks Slissy for the alert!), the IPL one is probably the most random, some have even odds, none are outright favourites. Pretty crazy. Anyway, still got 2 days to the deadline so plenty of time to deposit the USDT necessary for those of you on the sidelines.

Don't forget the free promos! https://sportsbet.io/sports/bet-free-6-6 Sweet tips: United will lose by 3+ goals.
144  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did Anyone here saw the Coingecko Narrative Tweet for Q1 of 2024? on: April 04, 2024, 02:45:15 PM
Coingecko can say whatever they want, they can even say Bitcoin is bottom of the pile for all I care. Anyone who follows their cue and invests and wins/losses deserves exactly that. No one needs to do anything for us, we're not entitled to the "correct" view, that's on us to find out what suits us and is correct for us. I actually prefer people who're not really interested in Bitcoin to just keep spraying their wealth everywhere else.

Memecoins 1000% only? I'm actually shocked it's not at least ten times that Wink

Red-tagging for late submissions? Jesus, notblox1 I know you're pro and serious, but I didn't know you didn't have a heart haha

Div3 coverage? When their managers speak up more, yes, I agree! Give Trofo some content!

buwaytress your wish came true 😂

Now time for it to come true for me haha. I see many people got 0/3 and I had to get the opponent who has 1. Juventus was a big risk, but I just felt Lazio didn't have it in them, and turned out to be right. Still very close call though. Not too inclined to check very hard but I think my round vs mv1986 could be in a draw tonight, thanks to Villa somehow drying up after the first half. I knew 2 goals would be hard without Watkins but I felt I had to take the risk...
146  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: EFL English Championship League 2023/2024 on: April 03, 2024, 05:16:21 PM
My memory doesn't serve me well but I don't recall three teams all looking to finish with more than 90 points in the Championship. Potentially, all 3 could also finish with 100+ (I didn't check schedule so maybe that's not possible).
They usually have more points than in Premier League because there are more teams in the league, it is 24 compared to 20 in EPL.
And there are play-off matches after regular part of the season, so there is more action to see with interesting matches.
I dont know number of points in this season, but there are six more rounds to play.

Oh yeah for sure, but was more pointing out that 90+ points was still a rarity for 2, let alone 3 teams managing 100 points. Using average PPG, though, the top 2 now are on target for 97 points apiece.

The old 80 points sure thing in Prem League has now become 90+ after City and Liverpool records, but in Championship, it's always been 90 points for guaranteed promotion.
147  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: April 03, 2024, 03:47:28 PM
Can't remember who it was who liked to go for draws (other than Steve and Trofo), yesterday must have been a dream for them. Naturally, any accas I had died the worst possible death (drawing just always feel so empty to me).

I'm with Igebotz here, got some shizzle on Villa -- is 20/1 Luton any good? It should be 30/1 really with the devastation that Arsenal have been carrying out.

I haven't gotten over the final match day City-Villa under Gerrard... when Coutinho put Villa up 2 nil... and still lost 3-2. That's just how impossible it is to beat City.
Too much was at stake on that day for City to lose that match.

Yeah, final day dramas, we (Liverpool) have given Prem League a lot of memories. Still somewhat bummed about that season but there's always too much at stake. We had even, more, arguably, and yet still created Crystalgate (haha).
148  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏆Rollbit.com | Champions League Pool | $11,000+ in Prizes ⚽️ Discussion Thread on: April 03, 2024, 01:45:21 PM
Hello gentlemen! Just a quick update to say that I've been trialling several different ideas for the final 2 match days. Unfortunately, because I'm trying to implement it in the middle of the tournament, the existing format (practically, the way the spreadsheet is coded into a template) will be difficult and expensive (hey, someone needs to get paid to work haha).

So, Matchday 9 submissions will include the 1x2 results of the first leg QFs, and additional options to put your stake on. The odds for those options will likely be guided by known probabilities, but they will probably have boosted "odds", probably based entirely on my arbitrary reading of teams.

Matchday 10 will be the first leg QFs AND some heavily boosted odds for the Final (heavy, because there's no way of really knowing who'll be playing at the time, but it ensures a bigger reward for those making picks for the final at only the first leg SF stage Wink

I'll explain a bit more once I post the submission forms.

If you feel this is unfair or not good, feel free to register your complaint or to me in DM. I'll... consider it.

Definitely something to think about next season -- especially with a new format I have yet to fully comprehend.

$1,000 Freebet distribution per Matchday:
🥇 1st place - $60
🥈 2nd place - $20
🥉 3rd place - $20

Who got the $1000 freebet per match day  Grin

I did, haha!

Nah, that's just a $1000 freebet distribution, divided up to $100 per matchday. I realise how it can be misunderstood now, but you know, glad someone noticed =p
149  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) – 10000$ rewards ⭐⚽⭐ on: April 02, 2024, 08:22:42 PM
The prospect of losing 1 mBTC if I don't submit on time worked wonders for me. Others with a tendency to procrastinate should consider the same. Cheesy

You're losing a lot more than 1 mBTC -- every position you lose makes you miss out on a big reward, you miss out on freebets, you even lose part of your eventual prize! It's very, very expensive. As it should be!

Slisssaaaayyy rooting for you to ensure darxiaomi has a shitty week, still hurting from my loss to him. I'm willing to see West Ham take points even if it'll make me lose a bet elsewhere. 45 mins to go!

And Navidart, man, he's a Clubtalk personality, I hope he comes back with the evil fee. If I'd known he was a game away from expulsion, I might have tried to reach out. Too bad real life is more important =p

P.S. I completely forgot to suggest Celtic-Rangers Old Firm derby on Sunday. I'm watching that one, Celtic found out how to lose twice to Hearts and suddenly Rangers are a win away (or even a draw, with the game in hand) from sitting back on top for the first time since Gerrard left!
150  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: EFL English Championship League 2023/2024 on: April 02, 2024, 07:56:57 PM
notblox1 my Championship afficionado, I saw your comment in Sportsbet ANN and definitely am reminded of this dedicated thread. The game at Saints was a bummer in so many ways. Great football on display, far away from the vile slop that United has been serving for weeks! But to concede the equaliser at the last minute reg, not good. Then of course Monday disappointment after losing to Ipswich, also late. Hammer blow to promotion hopes.

My memory doesn't serve me well but I don't recall three teams all looking to finish with more than 90 points in the Championship. Potentially, all 3 could also finish with 100+ (I didn't check schedule so maybe that's not possible).

Since 1980, I think any team who has finished with 90+ has guaranteed promotion. But it may be an unwanted record if the 3rd team this season loses in the playoff roulette...
151  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Odds, units advantage | Sportsbook | +97043 units on: April 02, 2024, 05:34:40 PM
^ Sorry I missed your post KTChampions, I really owe this thread some reinjection of attention, but the way real life is, I'm not sure things can really improve. Value bet scanning isn't exactly the most absurdly time-consuming process in the world. But it does need some kind of attention, and I've been unable to look beyond low-hanging fruits (hence the City overkill).

Unfortunately, I don't think things improve, but you never know. I win the lottery and this becomes my passion project haha.

With that, we put in an early Villa upset over Citeh -- no Watkins, no problems.

100 units at Sportsbet on Villa to WIN vs Man City @9.13. Other odds: 8.90
Units advantage: 23

Running advantage after 77 bets: +7872 (+23)
All-time cumulative: +97,642
Running units after 76 bets (5W|71L): -4192 (-1000)
152  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: April 02, 2024, 03:50:25 PM
The loss of Watkins is a good argument, but 1.26... this is literally the quote of Athletic (4th place) against Granada (19th), but in this case we have third place playing against fourth. I understand that this is a distant analogy, but it makes some sense.
City by all indication should win on Wednesday. Aston Villa are a strong opponent, but with the circumstances around the match they should win easy.

- Jay -

I'm with KTChampions here. This is a poor indication of Villa, and an overestimation of City. Of course, City I think should still win this fairly comfortably.

I haven't gotten over the final match day City-Villa under Gerrard... when Coutinho put Villa up 2 nil... and still lost 3-2. That's just how impossible it is to beat City.
153  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Kucoin becomes the first FIU-compliant global crypto exchange in India on: April 02, 2024, 01:21:51 PM
If it were up to me, I'd choose a reputable exchange with mandatory kyc any day. NO KYC exchanges are still pretty limited in terms of liquidity + market products available -- a lot are p2p and instant swaps.

That's the general view, and personally, there are some things I don't mind doing KYC for. I actually picked an exchange and did complete KYC (in advance of any future possible volume once I become a billionaire).

But curious to know why you'd pick an exchange over P2P? I don't use P2P platforms much these days, as my P2P contacts are in my own web of trust, from years ago, but I know the liquidity isn't great these days once the Localbitcoins exodus spread out. Still, the average user hardly puts the liquidity even on Bisq at jeopardy.

Edit: I completely forgot that I came in here to comment on Kucoin winning in India and losing face to CFTC and SEC just days later. That's tough.

To those facing spreadsheet problems (Google sheet, and any kind of sheet really, like the one in Livecasino sigcamp, which also gives weird issues): It can be helpful to clear your cache and cookies. For me, I even just sign in on a fresh browser if it really gives me problems. And definitely, check submissions on the sheet to confirm it went through. Takes you an extra couple of seconds but it saves you unnecessary disappointment.

Slissy, smack dar for me man. Hate my snooker answers, but I think I'll aim to draw that one.

The framing on the Liverpool - United game makes it seem as if it's Manchester United and not Sheffield United, intentional or no? Cheesy

It's Man United, weekend's game Grin
Liverpool's playing at home against Sheffield and it says United - Liverpool.

United is always Manchester United, unless specified. Just like "the Reds" are always Liverpool, think United used it but later on settled for Red Devils, sorry United. =p

Good ask though Hhampuz, I was confused a lot before I got familiar too, and a reminder to kick Cro2 in the ass to be more specific.

Should be manageable without too much pressure.
Damn, you did it quite well and I guess you are the only one from this forum who is able to get that close for the 100/100 prize.

Yeah, Trofo man, keeping the representation! I've proven to be seriously deficient in submitting all the picks needed for these challenges. Superbru's the only one I can hammer in on time, for some reason I guess it's easier to keep track of but that's also perhaps because it's a routine for 4 seasons now.

Very good reward for persistence, and I deserve what I get in the end heh. Though the $10k is still in play, of course..!
159  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀-Sportsbet.io-🚀 Official Partner of Newcastle United Football Club on: April 01, 2024, 03:45:33 PM
Hey everyone, was the weekend good for you? Just got back myself from St Mary's in Southampton trying to squeeze out every bit of joy from another round of Beers with Steve -- likely his last Beers edition with the Saints this season.

Nothing as exciting as with the rest of the gang in Talinn from the stories being shared (LFC_Bitcoin lends extra meaning to the word Legendary) but very good football, plenty of beers, and great to meet up crypto people anyway!

Apologies missing the photo opp with legends, somehow I forgot to take one. But enjoy prekickoff audio =D

Lost money of course; I thought they'd win, and were winning for most of the game, dominating the first half but letting in a lot of chances to their box as the game wore on. Bednarek's a better keeper I feel, the guy Bazunu standing in I think fumbled 4 or 5 times? Stadium was popping -- Saints had to postpone 2 games owing to a fire just outside the grounds so people were just impatient after 20 days without football, but they've got a crazy schedule over the next 3 weeks, a game every 2 or 3 days. Tough one to see if they'll make promotion!
160  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BC.Game 🦁 Fantasy Premier League Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: April 01, 2024, 03:10:54 PM
Come on boys! Even though I had a chance to win a prize in the main league I joined the second chance league. Having different things to play is always nice. On top of that don't forget that there are names such as Igebotz, buwaytress who don't know how to play in this league. It shouldn't be very difficult to take their money. Cheesy

Are you guys enjoying your free money from us idiots yet? cryptofrka biggest loser, getting so many points and missing out on our league. And silly little me sitting down at the bottom. Was there ever going to be any other outcome?

Or is this the hustler move I'm not known to pull off?

My bad luck about Watkins injury, not sure who to replace him with so am going to keep him on anyway. Hate these hamstrings, you can't tell if it's short-term or not.
