101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FlutterCoin FLT Proof Of Transaction v2 Released MANDATORY UPDATE By 57K on: May 10, 2014, 03:57:25 PM
Hello FLT community. I have a pretty crappy problem.

About 3 hours ago I updated my wallet to the new version, on a new computer. And after it synched I sent my balance from my old wallet to the new wallet. After this send, I encrypted my wallet and the wallet closed as per usual.

When I opened it up just then, I had no FLT (fully synched) and different addresses. I had some funny wallet.dat rewrite file in my directory but my wallet with my balances are gone!

My old wallet obviously still reads that I've sent my balance so I have a few k coins just gone Sad

Anyone out there with a similar problem in the past?
So you send your coins to a wallet with no backup or exported keys - very bad idea - please ALL never do this.  Many things can and will go wrong, esp with Windows, maybe the exe was still holding onto the file, maybe it was corrupted, etc.  Are you sure you didn't run the old version after you ran the new version (that can screw up the wallet too).  The hard drive can fail, disk can become corupted etc etc.  Not scolding you of course just please always have backups.

Whats the address you sent the coins to?  Let me lookup the transaction

Look to see if there is another copy of wallet.dat

Another thing you can see is run: dumpprivkey [address you sent to] on the machine/wallet you sent to - if it spits out the private key, then try re-downloading the blockchain or adding rescan=1 to your conf

thekiddcoin, 30 days ago I transferred my coins to a new wallet.  I have unlocked my wallet but the "staking icon" has not turned green and still says I do not have mature coins.  That first deposit transaction happened on 4/7/2014 18:21.  Today is the 8th.

Using http://agran.net/flt_getbalance.php I checked my personal address and noticed something strange.  I have 6 address in my wallet that I use to track where my mining deposits and exchange deposits come from.  Out of the 6 address, only 2 of them show a "final balance:" and that balance does not match the balance I really have in the wallet.  The other 4 address show "final balance: 0.00000000 flt".  Is there something wrong with my addresses or wallet?
The get balance thing above is not always accurate, as far as your staking, when they are mature they are mature.  You will not start staking based on the first transaction, depends on the size, depends on your stake weight etc.

Also, is there a way to search to see how many coins you have left that need to reach 30 days for POS in the debug or somewhere?
getstakinginfo

Can you explain this for me please?

What's to stop someone from gaming the system from sending single, lower but different amount, transactions over and over? Or is it deter-ed by how many transactions a key submits per block? Also, now that you've increased the amount of coins per 1000 blocks, what's that do for the coin cap?

Sorry if these questions have heen answered, not trying to thumb through all the WC hater crap.

Edit: I have read the new pdf, that's where my questions come from.
1) the PDF explains most of it.  Difficulty, fees, and size restrictions.
2) no effect on the cap

And the PoS settings will cause the blockchain to eventually cease for hours on end - mark my works on that.

109  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FlutterCoin FLT NEW Proof Of Transaction PoT Rewards For Spending on: May 06, 2014, 11:33:39 PM
To everyone that is dumping FLT, you need to rethink that!  Look at all these scam coins coming to market.  Look at what happened to AC and WC.  Thousands of BTC were made and lost from those coins.  HUGE SCAMS.  I seen several of you cash out your FLT holdings to move to those coins.  HOW DID IT WORK OUT FOR YOU?  Those coins are worthless!!  Now we have people dumping because the coin is too stable?  It's just holding value and not rising enough for you.  What idiots!  Either support good coins or continue to lose thousands of BTC from worthless scam coins.

I'll give you that WC and AC ***were*** both scam coins...

AC = massive premine "hidden coins" scam
WC = nothing in the code to make it go from POW to POS as originally claimed.

HOWEVER...

although, I can't say anything for what has happened w/ AC and its massive premine scam; I'm not in that community... but

the "scam" of whitecoin was that it never had the capability to go from being a POW coin to a POS coin as originally claimed and that has been fixed.   Whitecoin investors have rallied and we've booted the old dev team.   We've hired cryptowest and mindfox and they have essentially rebuilt the coin to its originally promisedl design specs.

WC is Big Scam
 fixed

Don't post your garbage clone shit here and take up the entire page.  WC is a clone.  And a pretty bad one at that.

Wow, haven't checked on FLT since friday and it drops this low? Didn't think it would ever go below 1000 but that's ok. There may be some kind of massive pump incoming with prices this low. Either way I am still holding and don't plan on selling for a long time so if it goes down, then I guess i'll go down with the ship but I still believe this coin has potential and a lot more going for it than many of these other coins out there.

So how exactly is POT going to work? Will POT always be half of the block reward? So even when rewards are small say 20flt, then you will only be getting 10 flt for POT?
Check out the v2 paper... White paper will be updated as well soon
113  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FlutterCoin FLT NEW Proof Of Transaction PoT v2 Specs Released on: May 05, 2014, 09:05:52 PM
Ok I see, I just re-read your first paper and saw where I had it wrong. POT reward is part of POW reward.

Truth is I never experienced POT & never mined FLT. I only bought and sold in many exchanges and I'm still holding some right now.

Can I ask what happens with POT when flutters are traded within an exchange or sent from an exchange to another (e.g for arbitrage) ?

I bet that my answer lies somewhere in the 212 pages but it would be faster if someone could just answer right..?
In v1 (which is live now) changes are slim for a PoT reward, though PoT security runs on all PoW blocks.  However, with PoT v2 which takes effect @ block 57,001, its possible to earn a reward easier when sending to single addresses.  So when sending/receiving from an exchange its a real possibility.  Large transactions with multiple addresses make rewards much harder with PoT v2.
114  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FlutterCoin FLT NEW Proof Of Transaction PoT v2 Specs Released on: May 05, 2014, 08:34:13 PM
PoT rewards are tied into PoW rewards
115  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FlutterCoin FLT NEW Proof Of Transaction PoT v2 Specs Released on: May 05, 2014, 08:20:29 PM
from http://www.fluttercoin.us/fltbeta2/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/proof-of-transaction-v2-r.pdf :

Frequency vs Reward Percentage

In looking at the current state of proof-of-transaction rewards specifically, we found that
based on the difficulty, they occurred roughly every 200 blocks on average, with the payout
being 50% of the proof-of-work reward.

While the frequency of PoT cannot be predicted, it is my estimate that they will occur on
80% of blocks, so again considering 1000 blocks, 800 blocks would pay PoT rewards.

For example, if you take into consideration 1000 blocks, with a block reward of 20 FLT.

Current algo PoT payout per 1000 blocks = 100 FLT
Proposed algo PoT payout per 1000 blocks = 800 FLT

Won't increased frequency lead to increased POT reward overall? In that case, wouldn't that just mean that more coin will be created?

Maybe there is something I miss here..Could you explain it to me?

Nope, doesn't effect total coin production at all.

V2 will make POT rewards larger right?

Does it mean that coin supply will be larger than expected ? Could it be a reason why people are dumping right now?
No, supply not larger than expected, won't effect supply at all

I have created a new thread to be used for FlutterCoin discussions, it is in the main Alt. Coin thread so it is more visable and we can create more support for it.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=596673

It is the unofficial FLT forum, but can be the Official forum with approval of the Dev., I am willing to moderate unless the Dev. would like to moderate the thread.

This is the TIME for FlutterCoin to make a comeback and create more demand for FlutterCoin and its valuable features that it offers.

It can be made the official thread...  I have no problem with that.  I also have issue with you moderating the thread.

Thanks!

More threads the better

Guys, let me ask you please...Im try to explain to my friend, how FLT works. Please, could somebody explain for me this...

How long have to keep FLT in my wallet to see POS and POT profit? I think, is that 28 days....what if I move coins after 1 week to Mintpal, then back to my wallet, starting again from day 1? Could somebody explain this for me? Thank you very much!  Smiley

30 days for PoS, though the longer the better.  But if you then send to mintpal fo a while, you can send back to your wallet to earn PoS after 30 more days...
