101  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Should mentally unstable people be allowed to gamble? on: December 28, 2023, 05:25:08 PM
Recently I was around a physical bet shop close to my area and I observed a man who was shabbily dressed walking in the gambling house. I got into the place to observe what his intentions were. He walked straight to the gaming attendant, placed his bets in a highly coordinated manner and quietly walked out of the physical gambling house. From the way he was well organized, you will never know that he was mentally unsound apart from his dirty clothes and unkept hair and beard.

When I inquired from the attendant, she said he was a regular customer and that he usually raised money for gambling through the manual jobs he does around the area. She also told me that he has never misbehaved and acted violently in the gambling house so she was comfortable with him.

My question now is are there any moral, ethical or legal obligation to bar a person from gambling after physically observing that he is mentally unstable?
Well, there are a lot of categories afaik regarding mentally unstable individuals and this should be known to anyone that we shouldn't base it on their looks, the way they behave, or the way they dress or something similar. If somehow that physical bet shop, a casino perhaps has some rules being enforced to not consider them, then, that I think should be exercised. But, for me, there are instances in which we can take some considerations.
102  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: License: is it a guarantee? on: December 28, 2023, 03:39:04 PM
Almost every gamblers notably those that make use of online Casino's for their gambling have the notion that except from a license owned casino they don't use any  casino without a license, which I think is a cautious thing to do.

But have been wondering and wanting to ask, does a license guarantees that a casino won't scam it's customer's going forward.
Well, at first if your casino doesn't have one and want the community to require that may seems legit but still that doesn't make a guarantee or even if they'll start with having one. You may have that notion that it is but it isn't a full proof that they will not scam their customers. We've seen in the past that even those who has multiple licenses will still rug and that should be taken into account to all gamblers.
103  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Binance Launchpool, a possible earning opportunity? on: December 27, 2023, 09:59:03 PM
I personally believe that if these projects are taken advantage of through Launchpool, it's basically risk-free money. The only thing you're risking is the opportunity cost of the money you're putting into staking.

What are your thoughts? Have you ever tried it before, and if yes, do you believe it's worth a try?
Well, it's still risky especially if you stake BNB instead of the stables. Right now it's farming AI and if you have good amount of assets to stake that will be worth it but even I've been farming for over $4k in the end I just get around maximum of $100 when the token gets listed out there. It's worth a try if you're early, if you have lot of assets to stake at all.
104  Economy / Gambling / Re: PvP Games in Casinos | What's your thoughts? on: December 27, 2023, 06:42:55 PM
Hello, fellow gamblers!

I've recently discovered the concept of PvP gambling games, and it really fascinates me.

I would like to research this topic more. Could you please share any PvP Games you like and any interesting articles about this concept if you know any?

So far, I have found BCH.Games's Jackpot and Duelbits Duel Dice. I am interested in similar games, not classic PvP games like poker or blackjack.

Thanks in advance for the answers.
These games was probably new to me and I think it's worth a try to know these games considering I'm just into poker and similar traditional PvP games across casinos. I think they aren't that difficult to learn but I think it's worth attention considering it's still new for some I guess. A new game will probably peak some interest to those who may want to try it.
105  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling for fun, is it a lie that we tell ourselves? on: December 27, 2023, 05:30:27 PM
I know that it's said that you should gamble the amount that you can afford to loose, but will you call it a true fun when you know that there's a higher probability of losing your bet?
Of course that's just a way to lie to ourselves but in reality we want to have fun and profit in return. Yeah there could be some pleasure you may gain while gambling but in the end a losing bet is a losing bet and we tend to sometimes regret if we tend to recall it. Over time if you are an optimistic gambler past losses do not tend to matter, you're just focus to earn in the present.
106  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Wag mag overpay ng transaction fee! on: December 26, 2023, 09:59:33 PM
107  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What if DEXs are banned in the future? on: December 26, 2023, 09:01:41 PM
But what if governments decide to hunt down the developers of DEXs? Or what if they estalish a law where developing a non-compliant DEX (no-KYC) can be subject to prosecution (jail time or fines)? If that happens, the industry will be doomed. With a US senator drafting the "Digital Currency Anti-Money Laundering Act of 2023", anything's possible.

What do you think will happen if DEXs are "banned" in the future? Will they die? Or will they still survive (despite the fact that most people will avoid them to prevent jail time or being fined)?

Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much. Smiley
I don't think they should do that or else the community will surely enraged, they probably will get some cut or enforce a regulation on these DEXs. I wouldn't think it would lead to a ban on all DEXs but probably a few will stay. If they are banned surely they'll die, the government just don't want something innovative that is flourishing that they couldn't control at all.

109  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Should security be employed in local bet shop? on: December 26, 2023, 08:07:38 PM
For those persons who prefer gambling in local bet shops instead of gambling online. I know that most times some persons carry huge sums of money to come to gamble and I understand that if it was a local casino there would be securities. Now, in the local bet shop, why are there no securities? I know a local bet shop close to where I reside. There are no securities there and there are people who act strange and mentally unstable there. They could cause fights, noise, and cheat. So for other persons to feel safe betting there I think securities should be employed there.
I think they can't afford to hire one or that they are just too complacent that there wouldn't be some incidents that may happen. Well, it's their loss in the end considering the consequences is that they will not be patronized anymore the next time if there was an incident that already happened there. That's the very basic.
110  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is there so much interest in popular cryptocurrencies? on: December 23, 2023, 09:35:02 PM
Actually the interest of investors nowadays are deviating from popular cryptocurrency, we have most investors now buying meme coins because they are expecting 10x or 5x increase, they think some of the popular coins are too expensive to buy just like Bitcoin. Yeah indeed they are expensive but that is just a sign that they have good future, Bitcoin is the most trusted cryptocurrency and I expect even more investors to buy fo their own good, above all coin it is the only coin I'm holding, even if the coin is more of long term investment I like it that way.
They are getting hyped because someone did millions but as you say it's deviating and most likely if they hop onto a new meme project it's either they'll make less or it will get rugged. Little did they know that they can make profit on those liquid proof cryptocurrencies if they are just willing to wait and hold it long term. Even the top 100 coins can make some profit if bull run really is here.
111  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does casino streamers have influence in your gambling life? on: December 23, 2023, 09:19:02 PM
I came across on YouTube where a gambling casino social influencer was streaming about a casinos platform.
He literally brought out his phone and was illustrating to the audiences that it is just few steps to take the winning on your games which is making choice of your predictions, choose amount to bet and also indicate his hashtag referral code and click on confirm.
Immediately you get credited directly to your account that just you won.
I just smiled but I want to ask, how many of you guys develops interests on a particular casino platform due to the influence of the casinos streamers?
I think I haven't introduced that way but for sure there are a lot that did and was influenced by some streamers. Media has lot of influence these days and it may not be a surprise if people are getting introduced this way especially in gambling. There has been a trend on Facebook before that influencers are betting on a casino platform and I think a lot has been deceived because they are showing they are winning huge amount of money.
112  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which one did you use to gamble with more on: December 23, 2023, 06:19:58 PM
I prefer staking before matches start when I started to gamble as a newbie. I later prefer virtual matches. I left both to staking on live matches which is what I gamble with most on bookies now.

This is just for fun. Let us post and have fun to know which one that most people on this forum that are posting on this gambling board like most.
I prefer live matches and I think with the result on the poll it's definitely clear that most gamblers prefer it as well. The rush to bet on who will win or what score will it be is somehow exciting compare to just staking before it goes live. I've done it before but with live matches my results are even more good compare to it.
113  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you have a "gambling problem" which you can sometimes control for years? on: December 23, 2023, 05:25:40 PM
Let's start with the simple choice: Do you consider yourself to have a gambling problem affecting your happiness, security, relationships, finances, etc? (Yes or No)
Now, here is something a bit different: Do you have a "gambling problem" which you can sometimes control for years? Either you make enough income to call it "adult play", so you do not have real problems, and/or you simply stop for a long time. Then - months or years later - it gets worse again and you are in trouble.

(First question was above)
(Second question) Either way, when it's time to stop, how exactly do you do it? (For example) Change other habits, go new places, exercise more, stop drinking, simply "swear off" gambling... How exactly do you stop? Thank you.
I don't have gambling problem but I don't think that was easy fix or it's easier said than done if you really have a gambling problem. I think seeking professional help would be your best choice if you're undergoing some problem, it may take some money for you but if you have that money I think it's still worth it.
114  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: So how does this ordinals minting work exactly? on: December 23, 2023, 04:59:54 PM
Checking the block explorer and I see people paying crazy amounts to mint their ordinals. Like one guy paid $500 and he minted 10000 amount of ORDI.

Right now ORDI is $50. So he got $500,000 worth of ORDI just for spending $500 in mining fees? It can’t be right.

I am completely new to this Bitmap, Ordinals thing. Can someone explain how it works?
Yeah they are a thing and it's really new to me as well and still wondering what to do with this inscriptions too. I think you'll get the same results with those hyped and early projects but right now that almost anything are getting into it, I don't think that will generate the same results.
115  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you take time to read the terms and conditions of casinos before registering? on: December 23, 2023, 06:07:53 AM
The terms and conditions of casinos and other companies is usually very lengthy and somehow boring for some people. Hence , many people rarely find time to read them. They may actually contain some of the complaints that people raise about some casinos such requiring KYC if there is need or suspicion of money laundering activities.

What is your take on this?
As you say it's boring but you can click that little life hack "Ctrl+f" and find the word you're trying to search. There's only a little you'll get some trouble on a casino, it's either your region is limited or you have to pass that KYC because you're deemed suspicious. Just search for these and you'll life will be easier on this T&C.
116  Economy / Gambling / Re: What do you want to see in casino reviews? on: December 22, 2023, 09:53:57 PM
Not that reading much on casino reviews but I think picking the legit sites that has been tested multiple times would be great already and you did a full review of the site. Post some videos and tutorials something like that, more like you really testing the casino extensively. You don't have to test a lot but having a few that are worth it would be enough I guess.
117  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin portfolio on: December 22, 2023, 09:44:03 PM
<snip>
I do think that you have good choices of tokens already and all you just wanna do is to wait until we get into bull run. If you wanna flip it short term I think those who has lower market cap would be the best choice or trade on-chain. Trading on-chain is probably risky but I think it's worth it if you knew how to flip them fast. You can do airdrops as well.
118  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Arbitrage as Business on: December 22, 2023, 07:58:32 PM
Did you know that you could make money in Crypto through arbitrage? I believe arbitrage is a Business!

There are lots of opportunities that could be explored during these moments and as we head to the bull run, let us explore them!

For example, one could buy coins cheaply in China or any other country and sell it at a higher rate to a country where there is high demand for the coin.

For us to enlighten one another, what could be some of these countries that are in high demand of Bitcoin or USDt & how can we leverage on arbitrage opportunities?

Do you think this is an avenue that we can potentially use to earn a living and be financially free?
Yeah it could be a business if you always make a profit out of it, I think arbitrage these days is difficult to get considering CEXs and DEXs has almost has huge transaction fees and almost not have disparity in prices. For ETH and BTC I don't think they are the best example to do an arbitrage, they just have high transaction fee to manage with.
119  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 22, 2023, 04:59:58 AM
We can really say that they already figure out the problem and know how to make their roster work right at the moment. We see how dominant Kawhi also Harden provide some quality contribution to their team so for sure we can see more cool games coming from them since they became automatically the team favorite to bet by those bettors. But even though they are having a good streak still I will think about betting on them since I will also look at the roster availability since it gives crucial points to the game. But for now its really great to see how they perform since they prove that their current stars rotation in Clippers is not a huge bust.

Let see if they can continue this since if they get more wins and continue their winning streaks then for sure it can increase their confident and they have huge chance to compete on finals.
Harden is not a player who likes to just shoot the ball, he is known for his passing as well, and even though he is a great scorer, this opens up a lot of possibilities. With Harden passing, that means teams either have to defend him and others get open, or they defend others and harden gets open. This team is perfect fit for him if he doesn't whine again and asks for a trade.

I mean at this point I am expecting in a few years at max, Harden will be like Westbrook and looking for a veteran minimum to find a team. Why would a team give him max contract when they know that he might ask for a trade? That's why he may not get what he is looking for, Clippers needs to win a ring with him here, if they do not, he will leave for sure.
Well, the streak was already over. In regards to Harden looking for another team, I think he found a place for now but we never know in the future if he acted out like what he did on the Nets and Sixers once again. I don't think it's wise for management to give a max contract to a player that already has issues like this, that will for sure be a waste of money. For now, the system works for him but we know when Harden makes some choke moment and that's when the playoff comes and that's when we say what would be the outcome for that, let's see if the system works again because for sure teams will break down that and find some loopholes.
120  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Nowhere is safe part 2 on: December 21, 2023, 06:40:30 PM
Bitcoin is risky. When we invest in bitcoins we must be aware of the risks involved in investing in bitcoins. Likewise, whichever wallet we keep our coins in, we must be careful with security. Because day by day hackers are hacking different wallets with their modern methods. Whether we keep hardware wallets or any other wallets, hackers will try to hack our wallets by fooling our eyes with their fancy methods. Of course we should try our best to protect our wallet from all those hackers.
It's easier said than done but I think when it comes to security you really have to be well-educated on anything involving crypto. For me hardware wallets are still the best when it comes to security, it's still on you if something happen on your assets.
