I think that this coin will be able to cope with all difficulties and bring investors a very good profit in the near future. But now everything goes down. Well, developing company will "earn" on short track with Obelisks, but loose heavy on long with this fork. Obelisk miners will continue to dump till earnings per day normalize for ASIC (5$ a day?) from starting 100$ per day. Prepare Your bags/wallets for discounted SIA.

No errors, gets work for blocks, etc.. Average Hash rate is 820h/s , but still 0 Accepted, 0 Rejected, 0 Failed shares after an hour of mining. Trying to get a better figure of the earnings vs power use.
Putting aside Your legendary status, are You mining solo for the first time?

That is pretty fuckedup and scary. It's not normal at all. Do you had a log ? (-lofilename) But so you knwo I was hit by an attack yesturday about 12H ago for 8h straight. May be due to that. But this log scares me alot, i'll add awatchdog in the miner so this never happen again.
Not scary at all. But memorable. If there is no auto logging, than I do not have logs. BTW I think my provider is changing the IP quite often. At my home twice a day.

I just noticed there was a fork on Oct. 31th Is there a new coin Sia Coin Classic? If so, which exchange has it?

lol. If you flash with 64 bios you will have the same 945 Mhz speed for the memory. And with PPT you can bring it up to 1100 Mhz.
AFAIK without 64 bios flash there is no chance of PPT reaching voltages that support 1100 MHz.

Minimum is 1.000.000 POSS So at current price itīs like a 2$ In my opinion everyone who go in this project now will take good profit Of course. Even better joining 100s similar POS projects and make 100 times higher profit than with only one project...

My masternode haven't stacked for two weeks. It was regular each 3-days stacking before. Did restart of both wallets, both showing enabled for more than 3 days and still nothing. Wallet version V0.12.1.10 Is stacking difficulty raised?

I'm developing bitstreams independently for myself. I am still optimizing Ethash. I am planning to work on ProgPoW and CryptoNight variants, too.
CryptoNight is crowded, so ProgPoW first should be great approach.

can you guide me how to set fixed ip? I am kinda newbie
in Terminal section of Baikal web interface (enter two commands, press button i, arrow scroll till end of file, type 8 lines, press button esc, type two following lines): cd /etc/network edit interfaces
<i> #insert mode - insert at the end of file
auto lo iface lo inet loopback auto eth0 iface eth0 inet static address 192.168.1.100 netmask 255.255.255.0 gateway 192.168.1.1 dns-nameservers 192.168.1.1
<esc>
:wq reboot
Match address, gateway, dns-nameservers numbers to Your network.

Hi, I have Baikal N240,,I am running into a problem, miner automatically stops working , like it is consuming power and running fan, at pool no hashrate, it happens once a day or somethimes 2 to 3 times. what I had already done. 1 = Changed my Internet 2 = Firmware updated 3 = Increase fan speed ** But all in vein,, any suggestions, image link is attached, Use fixed IP instead of DHCP.

Exactly, a new fork coin would be totally hilarious unless someone would build up the infrastructure to provide the same storage facility as SIA. People get so much lost into the crypto casino that they totally forget the reasons of the various coins to exist - at least they should remember that for the coins which actually have have a well defined reason to exist.
Well, million $ hardware that can't mine anything else is way better defined reason for existence than thousands of other coins has.

|
There must be a reason why Cryptopia has not opened for trade of Helium, right?
Of course there are thousands/millions of helium reasons. What would one do having borrowed waste amount of stackable coins for some period? Will increase period, naturally.

the sia asic fork will die lol, whose going to develop for it.. bitmain? gimmeca break they cant even do thier own business chip design right, thier last hit was the s9 back in 2012?!
the asic fork will go the way of the dodo like monero classic lol
Plus there already technically is a fork: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4560833.0I can see this move by Sia bumping up interest in Hyperspace. You're right, but Bitmain has money for investment and they show more and more love for coins. Shy support for BCH (BTC alt), more involved with Bytom (ETH alt) and one can expect that the third jump into coins will be even more serious. SIA fork could be a trigger.
|
|
|
yes its just like this except instead of making hundreds to thousands to millions you will make cents to dollars lol Don't get it. SIA exchange liquidity will take "fork bets" in million$ easy.

i know what im saying. there project is utter shit and a waste of space. it will never be efficient form of decentralized storage (its purpose). no one will pay more for storage on a blockchain that isn't a 100% means of protection. they even themselves said it's efficiency, even with asics, is not cost comparative cost wise to any other storage offering. now we downing the hash.. lol this project is fucking 00000.. empty ur bags asap.
I think You don't know what You're talking about. Storage cost has nothing to do with mining efficiency for SIA network maintenance. Ex. before/after SIA ASICs, storage cost was/is order of magnitude lower than other storage market prices. If You don't mind reading about SIA storage technology, You would know that data protection is on higher level than other functional cloud storage options. No matter how good is this forking for SIA hodlers, my opinion is that technology behind SIA is so good that developers will regret in future for sharing their storage market with another SIA_ASIC coin.

Your message makes absolutely no sense to this topic. No idea why you are talking about hodling or the BCH fork.
Either way like I commented on my other post. The people that are screwed the most with this are the retail owners of these ASICs which haven't reached ROI yet. Bitmain doesn't really care since they got plenty of other algos to mine anyways.
I bet it is going to fork. SIA price says I'm not the only one.

Eagerly waiting for ProgPOW inclusion in this miner. I gave up from unstable ProgPOW ethminer for now.
|
|
|
How is it a nice thing. They simply said everybody to f*** off so their ASICs can work at all. Just a money move nothing else. They centralize the network under their control. I don't get it how this is a good think. They are hypocrits, the biggest possible.
But who cares about Siacoin anyway. Its a shitcoin.
It is very nice thing if You hodl. Just like summer 2017 BTC/BCH reward for BTC hodlers.
|
|
|
I think when something like this happens it doesn't really hurt Bitmain but instead it hurts the people who bought some ASICs to begin with and are waiting for ROI which now will never come. I don't think Bitmain really cares about them bricking their ASICs they already got boatloads of money and the miner revenue for SC alone is already pretty low compared to other coins.
There is place for everyone in cryptocoins space. Prepare your SIA bags to collect SIAclassic...
