101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Now is the best time on: November 13, 2020, 09:25:27 PM
now is the best time to improve yourself and certainly to be patient to choose the best and most profitable project, because with a lot of time at home you should be more careful in choosing a project in this pandemic.

Staying indoor rules have been relieved a great deal in my country presently, many things going back to normal. However, I agree with you where you wrote "now is the best time to improve yourself" , the pandemic era should be utilized well for those who stay at home, especially non health workers and other relevant fields whose jobs are not paused due to the pandemic. I improved a lot in my technical analysis wherein I trade better presently, learnt solidity including other achievements during the whole time I spent at home this year.
102  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I guess bounty hunters really kill projects on: November 13, 2020, 08:14:28 PM
A good team should have a plan before distributing bounty tokens, for instance setting a buy wall to buy up bounty tokens from those who will rush to sell upon receiving or release an update that will create some hype around the token during the distribution period, so that demand for the tokens will increase. Another aspect is that some team members take it as an opportunity to dump tokens after distribution to hunters, thereby blaming it on hunters. I can't really say for sure that hunters or team dump price after distribution, because it depends and sometimes some tokens do not dump after distribution.
103  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Yet another Defi platform got hacked again on: November 13, 2020, 07:02:09 PM

Does DeFi are too vulnerable to be attacked?

It's surprising to see this news that Akropolis which got audited was also attacked. I think these hackers are targeting DEFI platforms with lending feature especially. I remember buying 2k$ worth of BZRX before their platform official launch, but price went south after their platform hack. I think the audit companies do need to upgrade, in order to spot loopholes which can be taken advantage by hackers.
104  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BNB VS Eth - Invest in ETH since BNB is centralized on: November 12, 2020, 10:58:10 PM
BNB VS Eth - Invest in ETH since BNB is centralized

I'm actually a fan of both projects, however saying people shouldn't invest in BNB because it's centralized doesn't really make much sense, the aim of investing is making profit after all. BNB also has solid product backings, Binance smart chain is cool too and curbs the absense of smart contract which was an initial drawback. I like the fact that some newer projects / blockchains sprout and try to compete with existing projects, this help to improve on overall blockchain architectures. Everyone should decide what coin to invest in, no one should pose as a financial advisor here.
105  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Define the (scam) DeFi. on: November 12, 2020, 05:24:55 PM

Anytime I see SUSHI, I feel sad because of the amount I lost investing long term in the token, hoping sushiswap is the next uniswap and at such SUSHI should do well in future. This is a lesson for all, do not invest so much in any altcoin for long term purpose, always take out capital when necessary and leave profit to run long term. I had the opportunity of making profit with my SUSHI investment, but left everything to run long term. DEFI trend is full of misleading hype, many developers are preying on investors while taking advantage of the DEFI trend.
106  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Indian exchange CoinDCX announced ETH staking on: November 12, 2020, 03:41:06 PM

Quote
CoinDCX, one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges in India, is preparing its platform to support ETH 2.0 staking in anticipation of Ethereum 2.0 launch.

Since I never heard about this exchange does anyone have any experience with it? Not that I plan to use this one as I will rather wait for top exchanges like Binance to announce staking but it is good that exchanges started with this.

I've not used this exchange in particular but from record, WAZIRX and CoinDCX are the two largest exchanges in India. They actually announced support for staking or staking kicking off immediately? That's the point I don't get. However, likewise I don't plan to stake my ETH on any CEX, including Binance since I'm prepared to do that personally or use STKR from ANKR platform. As we are eager to stake ETH, let's not make unwise decisions that will make us regret, let's be patient till December 1st.
107  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Defi project like game pump and dump on: November 12, 2020, 01:58:28 PM
What do you think of defi projects, most of them are only good for the short term.To make a big profit, we must enter at the right moment, if we are wrong we will lose very deeply.

This is so true, most altcoins are good only for swing trading and not long term hold. Most are pump and dump coins which only pump when there is hype around it and dump massively after that. However some have proven to worth holding long term with remarkable development progress over time. Most new DEFI projects to me are more of money grabs, few will actually last the test of time.
108  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cloud storage isn't safe place for your wallet keys on: November 11, 2020, 10:35:06 PM
I just find out that some people are storing their private keys and recovery seed in cloud data storages, if you are one of them better go ahead and erase them, cloud storages aren't that secured like they promised, some scammers are breaching them easily and some are using search engines to find private keys data stored on cloud storages, you've been warned.

Very nice warning, I can't even imagine myself storing my private keys or mnemonic phrase on cloud storage, can be breached by hackers. Best way I save my keys or phrase is by having a paper copy of it, kept safe in multiple locations where no one can access it. Well, there are risk attached to all forms of saving private keys or phrase, however storing on cloud storage is the worst option one should even think of. A friend mentioned keeping such files on Internxt storage, claiming its decentralized but this doesn't justify using it for private keys or mnemonics.
109  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What old coins are you still holding? on: November 11, 2020, 07:32:14 PM
Apart from BTC and ETH, I don't hold any other old coins at the moment, except for some junk tokens that I got from several bounty projects and airdrops in the past and even then I was forced to hold because I didn't have a price and market at all until now Grin Grin .
Apart from BTC and ETH, I think it is too risky to hold alt coins or tokens for a long time because learning from experience usually projects tokens only last a short while at a high price after the project is completed.

I'm also holding many dead coins from bounties and airdrops especially. Other old coins I'm holding include NAGA and BITDEGREE which I invested heavily in. I remember when Cointelegraph posted an advert for NAGA, and also Roger Ver (aka Bitcoin Jesus) was their advisor, this drew my attention making me invest heavily after seeing they plan to release 3 products then, lol. Also BITDEGREE won many awards as an educational project even before the ICO, this too got my attention. Sometimes holding altcoins for very long term without constant monitoring of the project isn't cool, sometimes you hold coins and they swap to a new coin, you might miss deadline for swap thereby holding a deadcoin bag.
110  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How will crypto behave during a Biden presidency? on: November 11, 2020, 04:36:45 PM
From all indications, Joe Biden administration will be favorable to crypto. Some people were in the opinion that if Trump lost, BTC will dump massively but the reverse is the case. There are some crypto friendly democrats who I think will help influence Biden positively when making policies regarding crypto. However, no one can be 100% sure, let's see how things unfold while we are optimistic.
111  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Recent situation of Cryptocurrency... on: November 11, 2020, 03:01:01 PM
I have noticed that many of the projects that are there are going up these days. In future we see more pumps as Nowadays there are some events coming up in which we will see that pumping the ground even more

This is not exactly true, the only coins doing pretty good are BTC, ETH and a few altcoins with good development or upcoming news. More money shifted to BTC and ETH, I think people actually understand that no matter what happens, BTC is king and also holding some ETH due to ETH 2.0 fundamental analysis. So when you say many projects are going up, maybe the coins you hold probably are doing well, not generally. I do hope altcoin season will come so that there will be massive spike for most altcoins.
112  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why DeFi is high risk investment on: November 09, 2020, 06:35:32 PM
My issue with most DEFI projects is that they offer insanely high APY for farming, which later have a negative effect on price. For instance PANCAKESWAP (CAKE) after giving very high farming APY, the farmers dumped heavily and still weighing down on the price. Investors who buy to hold are usually affected in this regard. Another example is DXY which offered 6000% APY for DXY/ETH farming pool, this crashed the price after farmers dumped from above 20$ to 1$, you can imagine what becomes of holders.
113  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dangers awaits ( unofficial listings ) on: November 09, 2020, 02:18:25 PM
Be careful around unofficial listings

Thanks OP for the awesome advise especially to those who are new to uniswap and other DEX in general, however I doubt if there is "official listing" on uniswap, since anybody can add a pair and provide liquidity for trading to commence. The best way to differentiate fake token from real is by obtaining the real smart contract, another way is to check for LOGO if the token logo is on uniswap. Probably you imply projects with logo on uniswap are officially listed, but that's not accurate. Thanks again for the wonderful input.
114  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Whats your thought about New projects? on: November 09, 2020, 01:04:24 PM
New projects are often associated with fraud or even difficult to develop in the market. although not all new projects end with hype, but I still believe that new projects that have real concepts, quality products and an active team in updating the project are worth investing in. recently I got interested in DEFI dego, DIA and stalking at BSC. i tried my luck there.

You have a point here, at least 50% of new projects have some scam factor associated, that's the more reason why crypto investors need to be extremely careful when making decisions on investing in a new project. Recently, some new DEFI projects scammed a lot since uniswap has made it easy to list projects from anonymous team members. Quality product and active team (let me add well known team and good project backings) like you mentioned gives some level of hope that the project will do well and won't rug.
115  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum remains the king of altcoins on: November 08, 2020, 11:00:02 PM
ETH has always occupied at least 30% of my entire portfolio come thick or thin. This reduces the risk of losing all my portfolio to scam altcoin projects, since BTC actually takes at least 50% always. However, this doesn't condemn other altcoin holders, it's always good to hold coins belonging to projects you believe in long term. The major reason why I think ETH will do excessively well in the long run is because many projects depend on ETH blockchain and the team keeps building. I've lost count of DAPPS built on ETH.
116  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple the next bitcoin? on: November 08, 2020, 10:45:11 PM
I don't think so. In my opinion it's kind of not possible. Bitcoin and ripple fundamentally very much diffrent from each other. Bitcoin the first crypto of these all crypto market. It Is decentralised. It loved by people and all the support come from community or people. It has a huge market cap like it has a market cap 50-60% of whole market. In other hand ripple is a crypto which works for banking system. And it's kind of not decentralised. Cause it backed my many banks and big institutional investors. And the market cap is big but not like bitcoin. So it's relly hard for ripple to cross bitcoin.

I really wonder why someone will want to compare Bitcoin and Ripple side by side, the comparison is awkward. How can one compare a centralized project aiming to curb cross-border payment issues with the pacesetter of crypto (Bitcoin) which is decentralized and fits into all sectors with regards to acceptability. We should never compare any altcoin to the king,, BTC, it doesn't really make any sense at all. I saw a couple of threads about "the next bitcoin or Bitcoin killer" lol, makes me laugh so hard since it looks more like baseless illusions.
117  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO, IEO, IDO, STO which best? on: November 08, 2020, 04:50:29 PM
STO shouldn't be on the list at all, it's brings nothing but total failure for many projects and some projects even opted to STO thinking it will favour their project, unfortunately all wall start crumbling down on all STO projects, ICO beats STO hands down but IEO brings more trust

This is so true, the two STO projects I invested in some time ago failed with nothing to show for. Even STO projects I've promoted via bounties have failed too. I remember when many crypto enthusiasts postulated that STO will be the new standard for token sales, but this was short lived. I wonder if any new project will adopt the STO method of token sale. Best still remains IEO done on top exchanges, especially Binance. ICO for now is a no no for me since I was scammed by a DEFI ICO project just last month. IEO on reputable exchanges provides listing assurance and confidence that the project is not going to be a rug pull.
118  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: when is the right time to buy cryptocurrency? on: November 08, 2020, 04:08:23 PM
For me the best time to buy a coin is when prices are down and there is an upcoming news for the project, especially when the team has proven track record of development and reliability. Fundamental analysis in combination with TA works best from personal experience, hence once I see a coin with good fundamental analysis like awesome product release or listing on top exchange, I check chart and if there are good signals in confluence, I don't hesitate to bag some. Everyone has their own strategy, there is no perfect best time to buy cryptocurrency.
119  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Bad Exchanges on: November 08, 2020, 03:02:44 PM
It's really annoying to trade such scam exchange with fake volumes. That's why I avoid using that exchanges. Better to use and trade on top exchanges with real volume and traders like binance.
lots of fake volumes that can sometimes trick exchange users in the wrong direction.

The fake volume aspect with exchanges with low reputation such as vindax, p2pb2b is alarming. Also wash trading is excessive in such exchanges. I remember setting a sell order on p2pb2b, it didn't pick for almost 24 hours but when I checked trade history for that pair, I saw orders with prices even higher than mine on the list after the time I placed my sell order. I think coingecko and Coinmarketcap did some upgrade to tackle the issue of fake volume, liquidity feature was also embedded for CMC in this regard. We should be careful with new exchanges especially, I only trade on reputable exchanges with huge volumes / liquidity.
120  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 5 mistakes to avoid when investing in Crypto on: November 07, 2020, 10:57:42 PM
The worst mistake people make when investing in crypto is not taking into consideration risk management. No matter how hyped a coin might be, risk management is very vital while investing. Take for instance, you bought a, coin with 50% of your entire holdings and the next moment a strong FUD sets in, you will be extremely emotional at this point since you put in 50% of your portfolio and hence won't make any valid decision at this point when highly emotional. All the other points mentioned by OP are very essential, thanks for that.
