101  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info - Bitcoin Block explorer & Currency Statistics on: August 15, 2013, 05:58:25 PM
seems like byte order problem.

This is intentional (or at least cannot be change now). It should be fairly easy to reverse the byte order.

was there a change to the BTC/USD rate?

The USD ticker was switched to bitstamp. The spread between Mt.gox and other exchanges is getting a bit ridiculous and I don't beleive it to be a fair representation of the current market price. The charts (http://blockchain.info/charts/market-price) will still use Mt.gox for consistency.

Submitted a Blockchain Desktop App to the Mac App Store today. I'm not sure if anyone has tried to get approval for a bitcoin client into the mac app store yet but hopefully it might get approved. If not it will be distributed by direct download.
102  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info - Bitcoin Block explorer & Currency Statistics on: August 13, 2013, 04:34:45 PM
Can you look into it? I'm really counting on blockchain.info's api for a project I'm working on. Thanks!

This error should be fixed now.
103  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: i need help to recover my identifier. on: August 12, 2013, 08:57:29 PM
im hoping piuk can help as hes already helped someone with this i didnt setup sms or email but i cleared my browers cache and the identifier disappeared im willing to give some bitcoins to whoever can help my message me on skype at acrones

What browser are you using? The identifier may be stored in your browsers localstorage, which often persists after the cache is cleared.

Otherwise please PM all the info you have (IP address, time the wallet was created etc).
104  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Error message "Error Response Invalid signature" on blockchain.info android app on: August 12, 2013, 07:34:06 PM
I updated yesterday to v3.52, did all that I mentioned above, and today updated to v3.55. The "This Is Your Bitcoin Address" on my wallet with v3.55 has changed and it appears that my old "This Is Your Bitcoin Address" is gone, or swept, or both. idk. I hope the code automatically will monitor those old addresses to make sure any funds are swept to the new addresses. Is this what you want me to test?

The old bitcoin address has been moved into Archived addresses so you will be able to receive funds to it, it is just hidden from the main view. If you could unarchive that address temporally and test sending from that address using the android app that would be great.
105  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Error message "Error Response Invalid signature" on blockchain.info android app on: August 12, 2013, 07:06:29 PM
I too was getting "Error Response Invalid signature" on my Galaxy S4 with blockchain.info app. Updated to blockchain v3.52 yesterday. Today, I attempted to transfer to another address from the cell and got the same error. Created a new address in the same wallet, online — I knew my passphase of course; then transferred from old address to new address online and it worked. Then was able to spend it from the newly created address on my cell phone. So all appears good... probably except that my primary blockchain.info "This Is Your Bitcoin Address" address I suspect is broken.

The fixed was actually included in v3.54 release today. Did you update today as well? Would it be possible you could test your old address (the one known to cause issues) with the latest app. If you post it I will send some bitcents to it.
106  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What is Wrong with BlockChain.info? on: August 12, 2013, 07:03:11 PM
When the infamous phrase "you only have one attempt left" appears I'm thinking I'll try the recovery procedure and typed in my mnemonic.

Password guesses are not limited so this sounds like a problem with 2 factor authentication to me. Do you have two factor authentication enabled? If so please use the form at https://blockchain.info/wallet/reset-two-factor in order to have it removed after which you will be able to login using only the password.
107  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Error message "Error Response Invalid signature" on blockchain.info android app on: August 12, 2013, 02:32:03 PM
Please can anyone experiencing the "Error Response Invalid signature" error please update to the latest version (3.54) and report back if the problem is fixed.

If the problem is not fixed, an alternate work around is to login through the web interface.
108  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Bad signatures leading to 55.82152538 BTC theft (so far) on: August 11, 2013, 04:20:46 PM
Please see this announcement on the issue http://bitcoin.org/en/alert/2013-08-11-android

An update was made to the blockchain.info app yesterday (v 3.52) to fix the problem for newly generated private keys. If you are a user of the blockchain.info android app you can either login through the web interface and send any coins to a new address or update to the latest android app and send all coins to a newly generated address. Alternately please wait for another update will be issued shortly to automatically rekey all android wallets however more testing is needed.
109  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info - Bitcoin Block explorer & Currency Statistics on: July 27, 2013, 03:45:33 PM
I recommend you to delete this addresses from the demo-wallet and to leave only watch only addresses. Isn't it better?

Yeah that makes sense. I've just left the donation addresses for wikileaks and erowid so if someone does accidentally an address at least the coins go to a good cause.
110  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info - Bitcoin Block explorer & Currency Statistics on: July 27, 2013, 02:41:02 PM
about the bug: it's very similar to the one on iOS version I had linked to, right?

I'm not sure, which link is that?

You site ate my 5btc and gave me nothing. Please message me back.

From the addresses in your PM it seems like the coins arrived at the destination address a while ago. If they are not showing please make sure your client is up to date or if there is an issue with the receiving website.

piuk, Every time I make a transaction You create a new address to sent BTC that I did not approve!

So this is your bitcoin address http://blockchain.info/address/1Ns9v93ngjYJavLc6VMQj7HKPCv5BCPSRE? and you are currently mining coins? No transactions from that address appear to have originated from blockchain.info.

http://blockchain.info/tx/cddf4fa049c7b57a3065c8dc31ddf2c52c03fd4ea98e18895d72bfdbb9c56dd5 is your transaction but you do not recognise one of the output addresses? If you have imported the wallet from Bitcoind then it is likely a change address.

When some want to try to deposit to 1C5LqLaDJRFf2jRpMKh9ErZgpjDB2DK7Z1
the money are automatically sweep out from 1C5LqLaDJRFf2jRpMKh9ErZgpjDB2DK7Z1 to 1J2tddvD6hiw4Tm32C6DbmsQcxNsCxEjUm .
The same with other addresses.
I think you should remove them from the demowallet.
(or allow users to create (and save) other wallet addresses).

Yes someone has setup a bot to automatically sweep coins sent to the demo wallet. It doesn't really matter if I change the addresses nobody should send funds to any addresses in the demo wallet as anyone can spend them. I will add a warning popup if someone tries to copy and paste an address from the demo wallet.
111  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info - Bitcoin Block explorer & Currency Statistics on: July 26, 2013, 10:23:34 PM
If it's a bug, do you at least partially take responsibility and are offering a partial refund?

I take responsibility to fix any bugs as soon as possible. However it is impossible to tell whether the private key was actually lost or even in the wallet in the first place so we do not offer any refunds (The exception being issues shared send which is server side). If it was indeed an issue with the app then I do apologise but any coins hosted with blockchain are your own and you should always keep your own backups etc. The new version of the app allows you make backups to external storage much easier.

And regarding problem with shared send, what about other users who are missing money?

They should PM me.
112  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info - Bitcoin Block explorer & Currency Statistics on: July 26, 2013, 06:24:16 PM
what's going on? No answer to 2weix loss of BTC 200 either. Is piuk on vacation?

2weix's coins were lost because of an issue with the first version of the android app. He generated a new address and it didn't properly sync with the server. Unfortunately with the phone being rooted and accessing the local wallet stored on the app the coins are permanently lost. The the bug was fixed a while ago in the new version of the app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=piuk.blockchain.android).

As far as i'm aware there is no issue with shared send at the moment. I'm trying to resolving outstanding problems now. Please do not reuse shared send addresses they are removed after the first transaction so subsequent transactions may not be forwarded immediately.
113  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: blockchain wallet problem on: July 10, 2013, 09:14:42 AM
Did you record the wallet recovery mnemonic or make a paper wallet?
114  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How does blockchain.info make money? on: June 21, 2013, 06:34:51 PM
https://blockchain.info/wallet/send-shared

Quote
Over $ 4,776,872,509.45 Successfully Transacted

They charge a 0.5% fee, it used to be 1-3%...

$4776872509.45 * 0.005 = $23884362.54725

I think piuk is a very, very rich man now.

If only. That figure includes none-shared transactions as well and the majority of blockchain's transactions are free.

Luckily the site has very low operating costs.
115  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: bitc-e.com new phishing domain on: June 18, 2013, 08:47:11 PM
I've had at least half a dozen people contact me claiming to own the blockchain.com but none have been able to provide any proof of ownership.

If he his the genuine owner I am willing to pay a premium for it.
116  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: blockchain.info ? on: June 12, 2013, 07:12:57 PM
Probably a server reset or update.  Would be nice if they would actually let people know though

Apologies for the downtime. Twitter https://twitter.com/blockchain is normally where updates are posted.
117  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Blockchain Unconfirmed Transaction on: June 11, 2013, 08:05:15 AM
Wouldn't it be trivial to stop the user from sending a transaction with a sub .01 output unless a sufficient fee is included?

It is a problem with the android app. An update which fixes the problem was released yesterday.
118  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Blockchain sending problem on: June 10, 2013, 08:09:58 PM
So I have sent aprox 1.16 Bitcoins to my btc-e account, but this was now 16 hours, first I saw 3h,  than 14h than 5 h than 14h again, bitcoin has is https://blockchain.info/tx/83b47d0f9adf0f627648e4576b83fa5c5eea768e56715f7040e6693ce9036950

Did you use custom send in the android app to make this transaction?
119  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Response from UK HMRC VAT Written Enquiries Officer on: June 05, 2013, 06:33:23 PM
Hence, non VATable. Good call HMRC.

Credit vouchers are not fully tax exempt. If you are buying and re-selling VAT is still due on the profit made from resale. Exchanging BTC for sterling is more complicated because technically you are redeeming the voucher and may be liable for VAT on the full face value.

The plus side for selling coins is you don't need to register for VAT until your profit exceeds £79k, rather than revenue. Although the site is no longer selling coins Blockchain paid approximately £40k in VAT this year.
120  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Uncomfirmed transaction really weird.. on: June 05, 2013, 05:12:45 PM
What device did you use to make this transaction? Was it the android app, did you use custom send?
