101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO, IEO! Which one do you want to return again? on: November 12, 2020, 06:47:57 AM
Creating new concepts means increasing the amount of scamming in new ways. I think i had to come back to invest in IEO.

- You know ICO had a lot of success at a time where investors weren’t disappointed, but a few days later a lot of scam ICOs were invented where investors lost a lot of their money.

- In the same way, many projects run by IEO got a lot of response at first but later they did not last long.

Again at this point in the same way Defi has created excitement where investors were smart at first time by making more profits but that is now where the scam scheme has grown and i don't think this concept will matter much anymore.[b/]

Objectively speaking, I think most people here would say ICO due to it timing when it happened during last bull season and many of them were very successful at least in the short term. IEO are not any different, problem with IEO is that investors don't get all their tokens at one time so many hold back from investing, but in theory there is less chance of dump. Success of the project is not dependent on being ICO or IEO but their vision and how much work they are putting into it.
102  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I guess bounty hunters really kill projects on: November 02, 2020, 06:06:09 AM
Very few percentage of tokens are given to bounty hunters, rest is with investors and owners You can check that with any project and you'll see generally they give 1-10% of total tokens which is not really that much to cause market crash. Even if bounty hunters decide to dump at the same time which rarely happens, it doesn't really effect the project in long term and it recovers fast due to big investors if there are any. If it isn't recovering within few days chances are that it is being done by investors and owners with very few percentage of hunters who are just trying to escape the loss of their hard work.

Most sensible project have a plan in place to buy anything that is dumped by hunters.
103  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why do some people stop their crypto project? on: October 30, 2020, 12:54:58 PM
In a short while that I have been in cryptocurrency I have seen so many crypto project and fantastic budget and planned you see that some of them still left the project unfinished some even do stop the crypto project without any pre_information about the sudden change of plans concerning the particular project so what do you think about the crypto project that have been suspended half way , what do you think that should be done for this kind of the attitude of crypto developer's concerning crypto project abandoned project.

that's a very interesting question. There were few tokens that I still have that were extremely good in the beginning, they had large budget and it looked like they were making progress. However, it all stopped without any news during last November 2019 and its not even listed on any exchange anymore. I am really not sure what happened to it. Usually when this kind of things happen you can never tell whats going on unless the team decide to inform investors.

some small time projects close down its no problem but when you have something that has few million dollars budget and they decide to shut down. it doesn't make much sense.
104  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: AUDIO massive pump after surprise Binance support on: October 30, 2020, 12:50:46 PM
actually this kind of pump is usually not very beneficial for early adopters. If I am investing in a project I expect it to pump slowly so it doesn't damage the long term perspective of the coin. With short term p&d. There are two problems, first you have to be available at the right time in order to sell your tokens. Unfortunately, few hours pump isn't really enough for all early investors to take benefit of the opportunity. Most of them probably gonna sign on tomorrow and realize that the missed the pump. This is only good for handful of people who were aware of the pump beforehand. It is not the good for the growth of the project.
105  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What Is Really Happening To The Market? on: October 29, 2020, 01:06:58 PM
Bitcoin goes up. alts go down. Bitcoin goes down. alts go down. Nothing really has changed from what I have seen other than investors and adoption. According to recent survey 70% of US adults want in on bitcoin, this number was much lower few years ago. With more players involved, predictability goes down as well but if you keep updated with the news and technical analysis, its not that unpredictable either. There are other things like covid and global economy that can effect the predictability.
106  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A letter to our dear developers on: October 29, 2020, 01:01:37 PM
Top exchanges aren't the best way to enter the market for new projects. There is a thing called delisting a token when it isn't providing enough volume. I don't think you can get your new token listed on binance unless it has good amount of volume and interest from investors. For that, there are small-medium type exchange that can help your project while you wait on big exchange listing. I agree that before creating any project, you should have a roadmap that involves big exchange listing. Just listing on dex is just as bad as launching a project straight on big exchange. there is no more anticipation and price becomes final.

If you plan on investing, its always good to make these things clear before putting your hard earned money anywhere.
107  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does Signature campaign increase ICO credibility? I see few good ICOs recently on: October 28, 2020, 12:35:57 PM
You would see there are a lot of signature campaign participants so its more of promotion than anything else from my point of view. Credibility comes from the project itself and the team behind it. Signature is only there so people can checkout the project themselves and make their own decision. Does marketing help the project? of course it can help any project but only if they have other more important pieces of puzzle in place. Without them marketing won't help at all.

Things you should always look for is their payment structure. Have they paid they bounty participants on time? If not, skip investing. They are most likely a scam.

Whitepaper, Team, Management, Website, Sponsors and their values.
108  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: PayPal might issue its own cryptocurrency soon, says CoinShares exec on: October 28, 2020, 12:27:17 PM
They already announced their partnership with bitcoin but this news doesn't seem to be of any value to investors. It seems more of a rumor than anything else. If they left libra foundation, I don't see them creating new token based on paypal. It won't serve any purpose since they can just use another other already built tokens for whatever service they are provide which is mostly buy/sell orders. This way they can ignore the scrutiny that comes with price performance of cryptocurrency. If their token doesn't perform well, it will directly affect their business. whereas, if they just use btc, eth, or other crypto they won't have to carry that burden.
109  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Dash undervalued? on: October 28, 2020, 12:18:30 PM
Dash is one of those old privacy coins with unique features not found elsewhere. For instance, the project has adopted a mechanism dubbed "ChainLocks" to protect the Blockchain against 51% attacks. It also has instant transactions (InstantSend) and privacy features (CoinJoin) baked into its protocol. Yet, Dash has been under the radar of many investors and traders alike sitting around $70 per coin. With a proven track record of development and innovation, Dash should've been in the top 5 cryptocurrencies in market cap by now.

Do you think Dash is undervalued? If not, why? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Smiley

Looking at its cap and rating I don't consider it to be undervalued if you compare it to rest of the crypto coins. Yes, you will see new coins that came out recently pulling money from these top coins. In the long run it'll come back to these coins once investors start getting burned from their hype investment. If you had compared current alt market to 2017 you would see most of them are quite undervalued compare to their past performance with btc being at the same price.
110  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Half bread is better than none on: October 27, 2020, 06:41:50 AM
Altcoins are really scary, if you can do some research you will see many good altcoins that had very good start and value in 2018 and are still alive today but we never heard anything good from them anymore for some reasons, they are now like ghosts, honestly altcoin investment is more scary, this is why its better to always take profit, most especially from new altcoins, Profit is Profit, either big or small.

There are too many coins which makes it difficult for new traders to choose and they end up losing. thats why its a good idea to stick to alts that have been tested through times and continue to show progress and stability. If you keep gambling from new altcoin to next new altcoin, eventually you'll end up losing everything you have gained.
111  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: UK Company adopts Bitcoin as treasury reserve assets on: October 26, 2020, 07:44:34 AM
I really don't want to be the party pooper here, but if anyone is expecting a huge amount of money from this one company, then sorry to say that it's really not that much. 10% of their cash reserves are only a total of around £72200/$94,365; at least based on their June filings[1]. It's approximately a BTC7.27 at today's prices.

Not that much money, but at least the publicity is good so there's that.

that's a valid point but this is better than not having them. There will be many more institution that would join the bandwagon and that is where the big news will come and we will see trillions of dollars flooding the market. We should try to look at them as a collective rather than individual.
112  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: which ia the best coin for holding 2021? on: October 26, 2020, 06:17:07 AM
After a long time, i am back on the crypto world.I want to hold some coin so please suggest me some good and real project and share your experience.

Welcome back. It depends on for how long you are planning to hodl really but you can't go wrong with btc, eth and top 20 coins that are outperforming others in marketcap. You may want to distribute some of that towards well performing defi projects.
113  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Another major DeFi attack on: October 26, 2020, 06:08:03 AM
Lets not come to any conclusion so quickly but this quote from the article sounds very suspicious. The attack comes after DeFi analyst Chris Blec claimed Harvest Finance’s administrators held an “admin key that can drain funds” locked in the protocol’s contracts. Only people who carry the load of this would be investors. so sad.
114  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC can reach $ 20000 after PayPal, Venmo accept payments in BTC, ETH? on: October 23, 2020, 03:49:17 PM
Yes, we are moving in that direction and I with everyone else believe that we'll see $20,000 btc between this Nov-Mar which will become the new floor for few months before we cross $40-$50k. I think paypal is a good news even though people think they're too centralized but it helps with ease of use which is connected to mass adoption.
115  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is any token kind of projects of real physical business ? on: October 23, 2020, 03:42:38 PM
There are few projects that offer such service but they don't do well in the long run. With covid in place, you don't want to go in that direction. So many physical businesses are closing down and there will be many more in the future as we move further towards digital advancement. As an investor it doesn't look that promising to invest in a coffee shop that uses only crypto so most project steer away from it.
116  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Airdrops Confusion on: October 22, 2020, 06:19:44 AM
You are correct. that term was specifically for giving people incentive without any work involved. This was done so to bring popularity to the project. However, it has changed its meaning overtime and now people don't really understand what it means and they use it in return of social media marketing and share private information. From what I have learned these so called airdrops ask for very private information and god knows who they are selling it to. I advice people to be careful and don't sell your private information for few $.
117  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: PayPal customers will be able to use BTC, ETH and other cryptos to pay merchants on: October 22, 2020, 06:15:05 AM
This is a great new for crypto world and this will definitely help with adoption and bring broader audience to the crypto world. Years after years we have been waiting for these companies to join crypto world and now they finally have. In my opinion, we'll see major corporations around the world start accepting bitcoin in coming months and join the trend.
118  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is DeFi over? then old coins revolution ? on: October 20, 2020, 12:17:45 PM
There is a big hype for defi tokens these days. I think most of it is dying but I don't expect any of it go away anytime soon and not until the end of 2021. You'll keep seeing new defi projects every now and then but investors have become more cautious after what happened to sushi, yam and few others. Its good to see top reputable coins are holding up nicely along with btc while everything else is crashing down.
119  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Coinmarketcap isn't safe for newbies who don't want to learn on: October 20, 2020, 12:14:00 PM
In the future, I expect to some filteration of this. When it comes to newbies, you should advice them to stick to top 20 alts and only study new alts. Anything more than that can be risky and turn newbies off towards crypto. cmc has over 6k coins listed, nobody should expect them to be all good investment.
120  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why hesitate ???? on: October 19, 2020, 12:44:59 PM
You invested in a ICO or IEO project at 1$ per token or coin and the price surge up to 3$ but because you see potential in the project you decide to hold and after few months the price goes down to 0.45$ and after four years and the token surge back to 3$, my question is why the wait? You hold a coin for years just to go back to it's ATH (All Time High) ? And most times majority of coins don't go back to their ATH ever again, what could you learn from this? Never ever hesitate to take profits, even if the project is the best ever, take profits, invest again when price is down because believe me, the price will surely go down

if humans are programmed to see the future won't we all be rich?

Your last two statements contradict each other. I'll go with the last one.

As you said its hard to predict the future so if project reaches $3, people think it'll reach $6. This has to do with greed that many investors struggle with along with the circumstances and experience that surrounds the investment which can change overtime. I don't see why you should shy away from holding your investment if you believe in the project for long term. We all remember the guy who sold btc at $60 thinking he was making best investment decision just to miss what we have today. You can speculate the price or hodl. Both are wonderful options and both should be taken into consideration.
