101  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Best metric for evaluating Bitcoin adoption rate over time on: November 22, 2016, 03:12:05 PM
I am not sure if this is such a good idea to be honest. Using the amount of Bitcoin transactions processed daily to gauge the adoption rate might be misleading because it's very easy to spam the Blockchain with fake TX. How can we distinguish between the real TX and the bot spammed fake TX? Increasing the amount of daily TX doesn't always translate to more unique users.
102  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are the main problems bitcoiners face? on: November 22, 2016, 01:42:43 PM
The main problems I have faced while using Bitcoin are:

1. The acceptance of Bitcoin among some of the biggest online retailers is nowhere near enough. Online retailers and brick and mortar shops need to step up their game and move with the times.
2. Too many Bitcoin exchanges have been hacked as of late and the inside job excuse is present in almost all the of cases. Shady as hell.
3. Bitcoin has become the favorite tool of online thieves and scammers. Unfortunately I don't know how this could be fixed or ameliorated.
4. Bitcoin is volatile as hell. This is a double-edged sword and it can both make you win more money and make you lose more money. A mute point but still.
103  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Everyone already knows about bitcoin" no.. no they do not.. on: November 22, 2016, 08:36:16 AM
We could argue all day about the advantages and disadvantages of Bitcoin over the beaten to death traditional banking system but the truth is that Bitcoin is, for the moment, a niche product. If people watch the news they have probably heard about it already for a brief moment and that's it. Not everyone understands how it works, though. But that isn't necessarily a bad thing because everyone is free to use whatever form of money they wish be it digital or paper. For example, if you walk up to random guys in the street and ask them if they watch soccer most of the time they would say yes but not always. Now if you ask them if they can say the names of all the footballers in the first team of their favorite football club not all of the people who have said 'yes' could name a single footballer. The same is with Bitcoin. Interested individuals will make the effort to learn more, but the majority wouldn't care much if at all.
104  Other / Meta / Re: New Global Moderator Election [Discussion] on: November 20, 2016, 12:35:24 PM
What will be the remuneration package for becoming a global mod? I guess the pay rise would be substantially more than being a simple mod wouldn't it?
105  Economy / Economics / Re: Bandwagon Effect - Sweden Begins Work on National Digital Currency on: November 18, 2016, 05:40:44 PM
All the online payment processors like Paypal, Neteller, Skrill and others don't back their virtual funds with anything either. They just operate on the notion that their digital numbers in their virtual ledgers have value. Bitcoin is not backed by anything either. It's the belief that it has value which is driving the price up or down respectively. More belief=higher price, less belief= lower price. No backing of any sort.
106  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: India is Paying $900+ for Bitcoin Amid Cash Crisis on: November 18, 2016, 04:45:04 PM
Can foreigners sell coins on Indian exchanges? Do people need to submit any ID documents upon withdrawal or can just put their bank account numbers in there and request withdrawal? Man I would love to be able to sell my coins for $800+ a pop lol.

If anyone from overseas has been successful trading on Indian exchanges please share your experience  Wink

I'm not sure if everyone is good with the government tracking their purchases of "real feel" 12" black dildos and extra large butt plugs either. The used panty market might dry up too.

That's where Bitcoin will fit right in, dude  Grin Anonymous purchasing of sex toys & illegal drugs online. I bet the government officials themselves are going to use Bitcoin online for their more 'kinky' deals so to speak  Wink

Yep, if US president Bill Clinton had paid Monica Lewinsky in Bitcoin we probably would never have known he got a blow job in the White House.

I think you are wrong. If he had paid her anything at all, then the whole world wouldn't have known that she has given him a blow job. But because old Bill was a cheapskate and skimped on the bribe he got outed  Grin

109  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Europa League/Champions League Lounge on: November 18, 2016, 12:02:26 PM
My favorites to win the Champions league this year are Bayern Munich and Manchester City. I like Borussia Dortmund as well but I am not sure if they have a deep enough squad to play well both in the Cl and the Bundesliga. However Juventus and PSG could always be a nice surprise in this tournament and I wouldn't write them off the list of possible finalists, too. The reign of Spanish clubs has to end sooner or later, right?  Grin

Guys go to Google trends and do a search using 'Bitcoin' as the search term for the past 7 days. You will see the interest over time and the interest by region which are represented by a graph and a map. The most bizarre thing is that Nigeria has a search interest of 100 which is the highest possible lol. If you are interested to check it out here you go:

111  Economy / Gambling / Re: SPORTSBET.IO - Place where you can bet with bitcoins on: November 18, 2016, 09:27:40 AM
Well it's not uncommon to hit parlay bets @ 70+ odds but I do admit that it's rare. What I am more interested in is if multiple single and parlay bets on the exact same lines will count towards the leaderboard rankings or not? Let's just wait for an official statement before calling any foul play here because that player could have just been very lucky and have hit something huge in the last hours.
112  Economy / Gambling / Re: SPORTSBET.IO - Place where you can bet with bitcoins on: November 18, 2016, 08:34:01 AM
Maybe that user has won a big multi-bet overnight or has placed multiple bets on the same event winning them all and thus increasing his profit to that staggering 1500mbtc? Does betting with multiple single bets on the same sports event count towards the leaderboard? Like is it allowed to bet 5 times on Chelsea to win with 19.99mbtc in order to get on the Premier leaderboard for example?
113  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sweden Begins Planning Transition From Cash To Digital Currency on: November 18, 2016, 08:11:05 AM
Damn digitalized fiat is like the ultimate spying tool for the government. We are headed towards a dystopian future where the world is controlled by big evil corporations. And the worst thing is that the government could shutdown your finances with the snap of a finger because all they have to do is contact the bank you have an account at and freeze your money permanently or temporarily and because you have no paper cash any more you are basically screwed. I see a big sinister plot of world domination unfolding in the far future  Grin
114  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The channel on YouTube that talking about bitcoins and other. on: November 17, 2016, 05:39:27 PM
Check out the YouTube channel of The Dollar Vigilante. The guy is doing podcasts every week discussing various themes of the financial world, how to earn more money and be financially secure and free. He has been talking about Bitcoin recently and he also invites a lot of prominent people in the field to talk about crypto currency and stuff.
115  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mr. Lox Sports Picks: Guaranteed to Make Money (or you get 110% back)! on: November 17, 2016, 05:32:07 PM
So will the escrow hold the weekly and monthly packages and only release the funds to you if the buyer has made a positive ROI once the week or month is up? And for this to work you need to send 10% of the package to the escrow yourself every time someone has made a purchase. Are you willing to do this for everyone in advance?
116  Other / Meta / Re: [FANT] Fight Against Negative Trust on: November 16, 2016, 09:40:07 PM
Remove the feedback system and disband all the default trust members. Create a ticket system where fellow forumers send in their accusations against suspects and let the mods and admins read the reports at the end of the day and deal with the cases objectively and according to the forum rules. There are too many vigilantes stirring the pot already and making the forum experience not fun for everyone else.
So you replace DT with Staff and get the same thing (or at least a similar) at the end, only that you will get less activity from it, since mods are busy anway with moderating the forum/posts (their main purpose).

It's not the same thing when you replace mod-wannabes with actual mods and admins. Are you saying that mods can't read 2 or 3 lines of text which a red paint usually consists of and decide for themselves what to do with the account in question? Or do you prefer to have random people giving feedbacks just because they think someone sneezed at the wrong moment?

118  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I have a question to the people who lives in India on: November 16, 2016, 09:37:30 AM
I don't understand what's keeping the price of Bitcoin so high in India. What's stopping the Indians from purchasing Bitcoin at normal prices on other foreign exchanges avoiding the local sellers charging excessive amounts? It's not so difficult to use a credit or debit card online, is it?
119  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: EBay and Bitcoin on: November 16, 2016, 09:25:18 AM
Ebay and Amazon won't accept payments in Bitcoin because Bitcoin is irreversible and there will be no buyer protection whatsoever. Do you want all the Chinese sellers to start scamming people with fake goods? Steam can allow themselves to use Bitcoin because they sell digital goods which are very easy to disable on people's accounts after asking for a refund. Physical goods and Bitcoins is a no-no.

What the heck! Is Lionel Messi still playing for Argentina? I thought he said he was going to quit playing for the national team. I wonder what made him change his mind. One thing is for sure though, Argentina is a completely different team when Messi is on the pitch  Wink
