101  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: No gambling today due to bitcoin high transaction fee. on: April 24, 2024, 10:00:47 PM
That might only be our range but what if we are addicted?
I think we wouldn't mind paying 50 dollar for the fee and still have a 50 dollar left for play.

For those gambler whose money is only 50 dollar and below, maybe they will choose lightning network for a while because you know that was still part of BTC and I saw that many casinos now started supporting lightning network.

Bitcoin price is still the same dump, so maybe that was true that the rise in its fees are caused by the halving and it can take a while for the fees to get sorted out. I know this is not the first time the BTC fees increase insanely this high and I am expecting these high fee trend may continue until bitcoin prices rises up to the level to compensate the miners for same amount of fees in satoshi.

This is where the use of stable coins come in. The liquidity of stable coin is an added advantage to their network especially when Bitcoin mempool start getting congested. So if a gambler is addicted, he might want to use stable coin or any other coin that has higher liquidity than Bitcoin at this mempool congestion period. If a gambler is addicted he'll take the chances of risking even more fee to get very small Bitcoin deposit, because when they are not patient to make good decisions they will eventually end up getting broke if they have all their asset in Bitcoin. Most of those gambling games that accepts Bitcoin are usually slot games which is a bit difficult to make huge win, and addicted gamblers will experience more losses this period of mempool congestion.

Yeah, I think this is where USDT enters, just like when we hedge our Bitcoin when the price is fluctuating, we can do it the same now when the mempool is clogged for whatever reasons. Although if you look at the fees right now, it is down more than 10x already from the highs that we have seen since the block halving. Currently, it's 45 sat/vB and we don't know if it's going to go up later or not.

But at least for us gamblers, as much as we love Bitcoin to be our main currency to gamble, it is wise to try and used other altcoins as well. Just be flexible and we will be good and then we can go back to Bitcoin if everything has settled down.
102  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lies told to cover up gambling habit on: April 23, 2024, 10:40:54 PM
I once did, 2017 or 2018, I had my Christmas Bonus and the first thing I do is go to land base casinos and then "donated" it all. Went home at night and I can't tell to my wife straight away that I've lost my years hard work in just a couple of hours. Didn't do the walk of shame, but I was just staring and she notice me and so I admit what I have done.

Of course she was furious to me, and didn't talked to me for one day. But after that, it's back to normal and I didn't do that again. Or if I'm going to gamble, she would come. However, since the advent of online casinos, we knew when each other is going to gamble. And so I didn't do that after that big mistake of mine.
103  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] David Benavidez vs. Olexandr Gvozdyk interim WBC Championship on: April 23, 2024, 10:21:55 PM
Whoever will lose in the fight Beterbiev vs Bivol I guess Canelo will face?  Canelo vs Bivol 2 would actually be good so Canelo can regain back that loss. Beterbiev though old, that guy is still massive.

Canelo would want that, he was talking about rematch with Bivol when he loss but it seems he isn't serious with it. Now, for sure he will consider fighing the loser of this fight as that would be favorable for him, and in terms of selling the fight, it's not a problem anymore as Canelo is very popular.

He want's it at 168 lbs, which initially Bivol doesn't want to. But later Bivol said that he is willing to go down to 168 lbs, however, he had a fight already and won. And then this unification which is bigger than a Canelo fight in terms of magnitude and of course the support of HE Turki Alalshikh. Now considered the most powerful of brokers in boxing.

A Bivol vs Canelo II would be interesting to watch, and I can already see what would happen next, if Canelo will even the outcome like beating Bivol in a rematch, there could be a possible trilogy, which will create more hype in the career of Canelo, just a smart strategy in case he'll bite that.

Canelo has a lot in his table before he retires, his rematch or even a Benavidez fight. But it seems that he is not interested as of now. Because it was reported that after this fight, his next will be against another young fighter in Berlanga.
104  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: April 23, 2024, 09:58:55 PM
What do you guys think about the Canelo Vs Munguia fight, which is not far away, on 4th May.
Bookies seem to be thinking it's going to be smooth sailing for Canelo. I'm not that big of a boxing fan and haven't been following Munguia's career that closely, but his record and KO rate (of almost 80%) look quite impressive.

Odds are very similar to Canelo Vs Bivol, when the Mexican was a big favorite but got outclassed by the Russian.

Are these fair or misplaced? Worth putting a few $ on Munguia?

I don't think that any oddmakers are going over or under when they list their odds in the market. This punters really know what they are doing and so I don't think they have misplaced it. Munguia is the obvious underdog and Canelo being the cash cow and the A-side will be the favorite here just like in the Bivol fight. But it's not always 100% that the favorite is going to win, obviously as we have been played by Ryan Garcia as he is also a 7:1 underdog at some point and then won in a dominating fashion against the favorite Haney.

So who knows, it could be worth to put some $$$ on Munguia here and we could have witnessed 2-0 underdog win for GBP. This fight is just a couple of weeks and maybe we could see some swings in the odds, at least some movement to close that huge gap and whales shelling out money on Munguia.
105  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC 2030 Assumptions on: April 21, 2024, 08:46:01 PM
"Bitcoin mining will become unprofitable."

This one cannot happen. If mining is not profitable, then the network will not be secure, so activity and fees will need to be high enough to cover mining costs. If BTC goes fully mainstream mining will still be very profitable.

And I think mining manufactures will have to adjust, that's how they are doing it for years after the halving, they come with a better PoW machine so secure the network so it will still be as profitable as like two halving years ago. And most likely they are producing machines or design ASIC that can be cheap and cost effective and friendly.

Probably the OP is talking about the price, and again, very hard to predict but I guess Bitcoin will still continue to dominate the market, and be around 6 digits by that time and maybe more countries are going to legally adopt it like what El Salvador is doing.

106  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Devin Haney vs Ryan Garcia on April 20 on: April 21, 2024, 05:28:28 AM
Another knockdown again for Ryan Garcia! This is round 10! I reckon if Ryan loses this, we will still win. The loser here is Devin Haney because this fight is opening questions on his capability. Tank Davis or Shakur Stevenson might be calling their managers heehehehee

Ryan Garcia can't be denied this time around. What an upset mate. Majority decision for Ryan Garcia.

Though no belt, i think Garcia should get the respect of the boxing community as he beat Floyd Mayweather Jr. hehe.

IMO, Haney should get the rematch and this time if either fighter can't make the scale, the fight should be canceled.

But then again, he was over the weight limit and 3 lbs is huge.

Anyhow, we will see, I cant' remember if there is a rematch clause, but they should fight at 140 lbs, simply as that. And I think Derick James needed this win as well and for Golden Boy, 1-0 now. Let's see if Oscar can make it 2-0 with another huge upset win with Jaime Mungia.

Props to Ryan Garcia, dude has power, knows how to sell the fight, it's just that he didn't make the weight, he could be the belt holder now.
107  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's Next for Bitcoin Enthusiast on: April 21, 2024, 03:01:20 AM
Over the past year or so, we've been discussing and anticipating the Bitcoin Halving. We heard that after the Bitcoin halving comes the bull run. We've learned different strategies to accumulate Bitcoin in preparation for this event. As humans, we easily get bored if there is no goal in sight or task ahead of us. The Bitcoin halving was the goal in sight that motivated many Bitcoiners to accumulate Bitcoin. Now that the event has technically come and gone, what is the next big thing that we should look forward to? What are the next collective goals or tasks ahead of us to stay motivated?

I guess one of the motivation is to make money in the market, admit it or not. So how can we do it? We buy as much as we can, even after the halving and accumulate and then wait what will be the new all time high, the peak price in this bull run cycle, time it, and sell for a ROI.

And with that halving done already then still continue what we are doing, DCA. If it ain't broken, then don't fix it mantra.

You can't just sit and watch your wallet grows, we are still have the opportunity so stack sats.
108  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tropicana, 3rd oldest casino in Vegas, shutting down after 67 years on: April 21, 2024, 02:19:39 AM
reading through the article it seems that the casino is tied to a lot of notable history that has happened in Las Vegas. quite a shame that it is closing now.

It is, that's why you can see some emotions on the employees and those patrons as well.

And in movies, for sure majority of us have seen Godfather I and in one scene when Pacino travelled to Las Vegas to take to Mo Greene, it was reported that this scene was in Tropicana.

Also another movie, James Bond's "Diamonds are Forever", old movie too, and 007 stays at Tropicana.

They should have kept it for historic reasons, tourism and  when its got that much history its like a movie set surely.  Alot of the history they cant state clearly because it would be mafia or some crime related surely and they dont want that ongoing implication so its all lost now.

As much as we love too see this happened and preserved the casinos as historic place, the owners will have to make money out of their business. So no wonder they have to sell and maybe it was really established by the mob and since their influence has waned down in the last 20 years, they can't exert any pressures to the owner not to sell. In short, 'they don't have the muscle anymore'.

109  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tank Davis Vs Frank Martin WBA Lightweight Title June 22 HoustonTexas on: April 21, 2024, 01:30:44 AM
Not gonna lie but even if Frank is a tough opponent, I guess I would go with Tank on this match up; experience, better knockout artist, absolute power puncher, and agility of course. Anything could still happen indeed but we're talking about subjective opinion and mine this time would be Tank, as I said. Tank grew so fast on his career and what made me think of such way was his fight with Ryan. He's an intelligent boxer and all of his opponents will be having a hard time against him especially at this point that he continues his heavy training on his team. Would be for sure exciting to watch. For me, Martin is still too young to go toe to toe with Tank. He needs to grow more and to polish his skills before he get to Tank's level.

We don't know what's the outcome of this fight but we can predict what will happen in the fight once we gonna make a good research on both sides. Actually they have the same things they are both undefeated and good fighter inside the ring. And also we are all know that they got a title which is they are recognize in some countries. But for me in this fight maybe tank David can do a good shot that can win against his opponent not in knockout but maybe by unanimous decision. But I think frank martin won't let that happen so this is a good fight to watch.
I believe this would be ending with a K.O. Both are aggressive in the first place once they get their phasing. Both of their undefeated records are on the line which adds thrill watching and choosing the right fighter to bet in.

If two aggressive boxers face off in the ring, sooner or later someone will going to kiss the canvass. And as you have said, Frank is tough, no doubt about it, looks technically sound and very confident against Tank Davis.

But Tank has all the tools and advantage, the power is crazy and scary and it seems that this is the best weight class for him as his body can still squeeze that 135 lbs of pure muscle. Unlike what we have seen in Ryan not making the wight at 140 lbs. Anyhow, Benavidez vs Gvozdyk will be the main card in this fight and probably this tickets are going to sell and I wouldn't be surprised if it's sold out and PPV numbers is very high.
110  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] David Benavidez vs. Olexandr Gvozdyk interim WBC Championship on: April 21, 2024, 01:10:47 AM
And the date of this fight will be June 22, co-headline for Tank Davis vs Frank Martin fight.

At least it's a good undercard as we will have both superstars headlining this fight. Nothing has chance though, Benavidez is still a huge favorite in this fight. And the date is still good, ample time for him to train instead of just going on Twitter and focusing on Canelo.

He will be there as Mexican for Cinco-de-Mayo event and most likely going to watch Canelo vs Munguia.
111  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why has bitcoin prices not increased just after halving ? on: April 20, 2024, 07:10:56 PM
Bitcoin mining fees has increased considerably today after halving but there are no effect on bitcoin prices. I suggested some friends to invest before and they are blaming me for the suggestion. I told them to wait for final effect as it can take some days for effect on prices but they are impatient.

We can't control what the transaction price will be, as other commented, their is this rune protocol, (https://cointelegraph.com/news/runes-protocol-ignite-new-season-bitcoin-after-halving).

In any case, in any investment, everyone should have patience, and you should explain this to your friends, as it's not your fault. It will take months before they can see our investments grow. There is no "instant" in Bitcoin, everything will come into fruition and the best gauge is at least at the end of the year and not days or weeks after the halving itself. And that is that sometimes it's better to just not let everyone knows about our investment and persuade them to do so because of this kind of blaming games.
112  Economy / Speculation / Re: another ATH , 71k and still climbing. on: April 19, 2024, 11:41:15 PM
Personally I still hold it. Even though currently the price of bitcoin tends to fall, I am sure that in the next opportunity the price of bitcoin will reach a much higher ATH than before. My target is not just $75k but $100k, and I am determined to continue hold until the price of bitcoin reaches $100k.
Those who look at the market from a long-term perspective still hold their bitcoins to reach the 100k target. In the short term, market changes don't really affect them as much as they do you. Bitcoin will definitely go to 100k but it may take time, and patient investors will win in the end because they know the future potential of Bitcoin. So I think your decision is right about waiting until you achieve the 100k bitcoin target. Bitcoin has already broken the previous ATHs, Bitcoin is now in the price discovery stage so it will be most interesting to see where Bitcoin's next stop will be.

Right, although we have seen new all time high, that is not the top price for this bull-run as we are expecting the market to go on parabolic rise and reach $100,000 or more next year. So we shouldn't go on a celebratory ride or something. There is more room for us to growth from today to next year.

And that kind of investor is what we call diamond hand, or at least knows that the market has just started to warm up. And now that we are in the halving, the more this set of investors are calm and patience and look at the long-term perspective.
113  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Devin Haney vs Ryan Garcia on April 20 on: April 19, 2024, 11:15:20 PM
Oh well, at least they will allow this fight to still push through even though Ryan Garcia has missed weight. And Bill Haney as I have read in several tweets, say that there is a stipulation that Ryan Garcia "wanting to embrace different movements.” Not sure what Bill means by that.

And it was also said that Ryan has paid the $1.5 as agreed upon and Ryan said that he will get back that money and Haney should also promise that he will fight in the middle of the year as he said in the press conference.

Bill Haney and Bernard Hopkins is also getting into the mix in the weigh-in, LOL.

Not sure what Hopkins said, because prior to that, Oscar and Bill is cool although you can see the Bill is saying something and perhaps Bernard hear it and just reacted to it. But everything has been set, they have promoted  the fight specially Ryan with his antics in public and his public tweets.

Now, they will go out in less than 24 hours, and as Ryan said, hope that the fight is going to happen in the middle and Haney will engage.

And speaking of Bernard, he is not done yet, https://www.youtube.com/shorts/PX3J7dGC49w
114  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This will be my first BTC halving on: April 19, 2024, 10:47:21 PM
We live in crazy times. This will be my first BTC halving and I'm so fucking happy that I learned about BTC and how FIAT money is basically a fucking scam in the past year. Thanks to this forum and happy halving y'all! Smiley

Good for you, 9 blocks away, prices is $64,100 so everything is good, unlike the last time that we have the pandemic in the background, the lockdown and all that uncertainty. But as compare to this time, there is war but hopefully it wouldn't affect the market.

So basically just sit back and relax and experience your first Bitcoin Halving.

And see how everything will transpired in the next couple of months. It will not be instant effect as others might thought and the price will not suddenly jump to $100,000. It might take sometime. Good gauge is too see the price at the end of the year.
115  Economy / Gambling discussion / Tropicana, 3rd oldest casino in Vegas, shutting down after 67 years on: April 19, 2024, 10:21:18 PM
Not sure if you guys have heard about this story, but since I'm more of a traditional land base players and so are others here, let me share you this story,

Quote
LAS VEGAS (AP) — From its lavish opening in 1957 on a Las Vegas Boulevard surrounded by wide-open desert, to its sleepier years amid a boom in megaresorts, the Tropicana Las Vegas has been a familiar landmark home to colorful events in a city known for constant reinvention.

Now it’s a jewel of Sin City’s past. After 67 years, the Strip’s third-oldest casino shut its doors for good on Tuesday. Demolition is slated for October to make room for a $1.5 billion Major League Baseball stadium for the relocating Oakland Athletics — part of Las Vegas’ latest rebrand as a hub for sports entertainment.

https://apnews.com/article/tropicana-casino-history-las-vegas-strip-3334ab06fdd11ada3b181813d2f04649

And this is the final hour,

I'll probably played at least once here in 99-00, if my memories serves me right. (I'm not stateside btw). Anyone in the US has experience going into this casinos and maybe shared their thoughts?

116  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What Casino Game Has the Best Odds? on: April 19, 2024, 10:05:11 PM

Whether you're a seasoned gambler or new to the casino floor, understanding which games offer the best chances of winning can significantly enhance your gaming experience. Share your experiences, ask questions, and get insights into which games statistically give players an edge.
Whether it’s house edge percentages, player strategies, or personal anecdotes, let’s uncover the most player friendly games out there.

All levels of experience are welcome  Smiley

I'm not sure what you mean, house still wins at the day, RTP are pretty much the same across as they are mandated by law. Sport betting odds would come to Las Vegas so there's not much difference in every casinos. And they don't want for someone to play arbitrage and take advantage of huge swing odds.

And as others have stated, games are purely luck base so there's no way that you can quantify it, unless you are either lucky or not.

So go try different casinos, and see how the experience for you, instead of just asking for advise as everyone could have different answers.
117  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Devin Haney vs Ryan Garcia on April 20 on: April 18, 2024, 11:04:17 PM
Here is the final press conference of the fight,

Good to see that it is finally going to happen, Oscar says that the tickets is selling so be it. So this is game 7, 3-3 on amateur so obviously, this is going to settle everything and the winner going to be the face of boxing.

And there is a side bet of $500,000 that Ryan will not make the weight according to the Haney's.

So let's see tomorrow in the weigh-in and then in the actual fight.
118  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: April 18, 2024, 10:44:26 PM
I thought Boots is one of those fighters that will remain loyal and worships Al Haymon even if there are bigger offers outside. Well, at least he proved his loyalty in the past when he rejected the offer of Crawford for the WBO belt and then bark like a stupid dog when Crawford unified all the belts and clearly has no intention of remaining in the division.

Boots has the skills and power but he is untested. Eddie and DAZN have the deepest pockets in the sport while also partnered with Saudi Arabia. Maybe Crawford should vacate all the remaining belts now and let the young guns fight each other.

Hopefully with this move, Ennis will be more active this year under Eddie Hearn. Who knows, maybe we can see him and Benn fighting this year?

As long as Ennis opponent is not just second tier boxer and again being active, I think this is a good move for him. The thing with Hearn though is that his fighters are not exclusive for him, I mean he can try to negotiate an fight others in the other stable to exposed his boxers.

So let's see who will be his initial opponent being a Matchroom boxer.

You can listen in this interview and see what his plans his,

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G8bsQ-pGFbg

And it's obvious that he want all the smoke at 147 lbs, Crawford, Spence. He can get this fight if the money is right. The good thing is that he will stay active now, and he can go global, meaning it will include exposure in Saudi as Eddie Hearn is one of the most powerful promoter in that side of Middle East now.

If we look at the rankings, the Canadian Cody Crowley is his mandatory.

Yes, even before that video surfaces, I was hinting that a Cody Crowley fight is good for Ennis, just to stay active and answer all those criticism of not fighting his mandatory since he has been reinstated as a full pledge champion now and not just a interim belt holder.

So this could be a great fight, and he can show his tools and wares and what's the hype is all about for him and why Crawford says that he doesn't want to fight Ennis for now. And then after Crowley, he can call Spence and Bud Crawford again and for me he deserves a title shot or at least bodies should put pressure specially on Crawford to fight Ennis.

Well, talk is cheap. Ennis talked about being the best in the division and yet he did not put strong pressure on Errol Spence to execute his IBF mandate. And it's a fact that he ducked Crawford when offered for the WBO belt. That lame excuse that Al Haymon treated him well so they want PBC to promote his fights and not of Crawford's choice who's actually the champion. And then he barked about wanting Crawford later when he unified all the belts. So he was willing to fight outside PBC then or he was just bluffing.

Now that he is out of PBC, Matchroom is more than willing to offer him fights to other promoters too. We'll see if he calls the other top tier guys because I doubt Crawford or even Spence are interested at 147.

In my opinion, he could have been chasing the two best boxers in 147 lbs, but it's that circumstances are not in his favor. He has been calling them, but it seems the PBC is lock already with Spence Jr facing Crawford for a unification fight and one of the biggest last year.

So I doubt that PBC will have to postponed that or the governing body not forcing the mandatory because it's a huge fight.

And after winning all the belts, Crawford is no longer interested on him. It's a career move, we can't blame him for that leaving PBC. And most likely Eddie Hearn could have sweetened the deal and has good offers money wise for Ennis.
119  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Investing in a casino's bankroll...Still worth it in 2024? on: April 18, 2024, 10:24:25 PM
I remember the days when online crypto gambling sites offered us the option to invest directly into their bankroll (like the one in my sig). Nowadays, it's hard to find one that does. The only I've found is Bitvest. But activity on the site is quite low compared to its rivals.

I was wondering if it's still worth investing in an online casino's bankroll? If it is, could you share where can I invest my BTC? Any suggestions and/or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Smiley

There are still some gambling platforms that offers investment directly, thru Bitcoin or their native token. Unfortunately it's no longer the hype and those investors could have lost money as well as there could be months that the casino is losing money unfortunately.

There's one user who share his gambling investment and it looks like it didn't turn out to be good,  GAMBLING SITE INVESTMENT.

So I would stir away from this kind of options for now, it's not viable as it was once was in maybe 2015-2018 era.

Hey tennis fans (I'm still is, hasn't been active and posting here), but it's good to hear Nick interviewing Naomi Osaka,-  Good Trouble With Nick Kyrgios

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VjMhYSlLQZ0

And it's good to hear Osaka being not a tennis player, talking about business and her life outside of tennis. Good interviewer as well for Nick, maybe he finally found his passion,  Grin.

She also talk about Kobe's influence and impact on her and the Williams sister too.
