101  Local / India / Re: Help me account got freezed by bankura West Bengal cyber cell on: April 07, 2024, 05:22:49 AM
Hey don't get depressed and this is something which has happened with many people and even my friend's account got freezed stating he got funds through LTTE member and they were summoned to visit Kerala branch of cyber crime wherein my friend went and showed the transaction history as long as you can show that you had transferred $250 USDT to get the fund then no issues because usually they think we are a member of those criminal group that's why we got funds.

No need to worry speak to cyber crime department and not only you will get back the money but your account will also be unblocked.
actually the scammer done third party payment seems he done with a fraud account i dont have her kyc details also . i talked to cyber cell they said p2p is illegal in india you are traded with scammer so you are also faulty . i dont have much money to pay as bribe to police Sad iam from lower middle class i dont knw how can it get unfreezed even iam ready to pay that disputed amount also that trader is scamming more peoples because noones not responding even after sending several mails

The cycber cell is bluffing to you because there is no such rule that says P2P or crypto trading is illegal in India.
They are lying to you so that you can give them a bribe. You can ask them to show the rule where it states that P2P is illegal in India.
Ask them the section under which the punishment for it is mentioned. They won't be able to give you any precise answer and keep bluffing.
Why don't you talk to your bank relationship manager directly ?
I talked with manager he says go to cyber cell and i called cyber cell they dont listen any thing now and say come to police station

Stop using noones going forward and you can go to the police station and explain them what happened.
Tell them to catch the culprit behind this and unfreeze your account.
There are no rules mentioned that P2P is illegal and so you can go ahead and lodge an FIR against the culprit.
Then you can show that FIR to cyber cell and tell them to intimate the bank to unfreeze your account.
102  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think? on: April 06, 2024, 04:10:45 PM
Is this good advice for those who can't afford a hardware wallet?

Using a Bitcoin Electrum wallet or other, disconnect from the internet before generating a new seed and never connecting to the internet again.

Until you are ready to sell everything in that wallet.

Is this practice similar to using a hardware wallet? This advice came from a man I know who said to have been keeping his BTC since 2013 in the same manner, he said the internet/online is the culprit or enemy of every crypto wallet.

There are huge differences between a hardware wallet and an air gapped PC.
To be honest, using a hardware wallet is much cheaper, easier, secure and convenient than to use an air gapped PC.
If you still want to go ahead with using an air gapped PC then you can go ahead with the process you mentioned.
Be sure to get the wallet from official source only and make sure it is open source.
Make sure that you are not connecting the device to internet or connecting any storage devices to the air gapped PC.
103  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is a best way of taking advantage of BTC dips when away? on: April 06, 2024, 03:37:08 PM
Call me an idiot, I don't care but I believe that this question deserves some answer.

I have been hearing about the importance of buying Bitcoin at the dip and something good strikes my heart.

What if I can't be available when Bitcoin is dumping? What if I am away because in reality I am always busy, you can tell how epileptic my activeness on this forum have become.

Is there anyway to buy Bitcoin dips when I am not available? So this come to my mind straight away.

A bitcoin buy the dip bot, that can trigger a certain price when I am away, is this possible?

Don't tell me to use a centralized exchange, been not active in crypto space means that a centralized exchange can collapse before you come back, I want something in my control.

If you have a better option, don't hesitate to share.

If you don't want to use centralized exchanges then you can manually purchase bitcoin yourself.
You can create a telegram bot that keeps notifying you of the dips and then you can make the bitcoin purchases.
If you are not available to buy then add binance API to your telegram bot that make purchases during the dips.
Once you are available then you can transfer those coins to your main wallet.
104  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Going all in and losing the bet on: April 06, 2024, 02:01:40 PM
I was just playing Hi-Lo, making small dollar bets, if it's 5 number card I select higher card and win, if it's 10 number then I go with 'low' and win.

Then I was greeted with Ace card, minimal possibility for equal card right (i.e, Ace), so I go all in, and guess what happens, the result is Ace means I lost the bet.

Then I have all sorts of thoughts blaming casino, like do they manipulate the result of the game when user goes all in. I am sure they are all fair, it's just that the possibility of losing the game may be minimal but it's never 0.

Lol, it has happened so many times with me. Just when I think that the next bet will be a win for me and I increase the bet amount, tadaa, I lose.
It has happened many times that when I go all in I lose the bet but few times I win and the feeling is exotic.
But that's what gambling is. We can't blame the casino for it.
Yes exactly, nothing to blame the casino for, any gambler that loses his or her bet immediately after betting everyone, and turns around to blame the casino for it, is probably a baby gambler, someone not yet matured in gambling, and if paradventure; such person has been gambling for a really long time, then possibly, such person should consider quiting gambling for it just might not be his or her thing.  Grin

Anyways, gambling is an activity that comes with alot of excitements and disappointments, personally, I would say that this actually is the only thing I can say that is guaranteed in gambling, those who gamble always, but most of the time, they are playing for fun, they may experience alot of excitements, even in the mix of loses, which is actually inevitable as long as gambling is concerned, while those who gamble always, but are always chasing profits, may likely feel excitements sometimes, and disappointments most of the times of their life, because constant winning is never possible in gambling.

To be honest, we can't put a tag on everyone saying them premature gamblers just because they are blaming the casinos.
I think the feeling comes natural because of the frustration of losing the bet.
If gamblers are continuously blaming the casino site for their losses only then they can be classified as amateur gamblers.

106  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Don't make your bets when you're tired on: April 05, 2024, 04:22:00 PM
I think it's more dangerous to be demoralized rather than tired. For example, I've had this happen several times: I come home from a work shift and start betting. They are small, but when I see that they are not winning, I bet more. And then another and another, forgetting to eat and to sleep. And then an uncontrolled state begins - having already lost half of the deposit, tired and angry, I bet everything I have on an absolutely stupid match. And that time I was lucky - I was able to win back. But uncontrolled play in a tired state does not lead to good.

Not only gambling but everything is risky if done half asleep. Many people have met with accidents while driving half asleep.
Gambling is just the same. Whether tired or in sleep, if you are gambling in such conditions you are bound to lose your money.
107  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does prediction in sport work for you? on: April 05, 2024, 03:54:33 PM
Relying on other sites for betting on sports might not be the right thing to do.
We bet on sports because we believe that the particular team will win the match.
We put in our efforts and analysis for that particular bet and so relying on other sites for that info should be avoided.
We are basically risking our money on someone else's point of view.

Betting on multiple ranges is the only way to secure a win unless you are really very good at price prediction.
But in this case BTC already had a huge range of $70k - $80k which was ideal choice for me hoping BTC was bullish.
Besides that, betting on ETH had been an easier choice for me since the volatility is predictable in case of ETH.
Yet I placed bet on multiple ranges to secure a win.
Yes, you are right, placing several bets in different price ranges just to secure a win but sometimes it doesn't give a profit or only a small one when the correct one is actually at low odds, because I also did it several times when I wasn't really sure about the first choice or when it was in the middle of the month quite significant price movements of Bitcoin. Regarding skill in predicting, I think people can still be wrong because unexpected things in the closing seconds of a bet can change the movement.

I'm haven't made a choice yet, I'm still monitoring price movements in the next week, and if we look at the number of bets so far, we can see that many people are still waiting because not many have made their choice, the prize pool is still low.

That is obvious isn't it. If we are placing bets on multiple ranges then it is also increasing our capital which means we are reducing the risk.
So it directly means that we are lowering the rewards as well because low risk low reward and vice versa.
We have to be more diligent when we place our bets on multiple ranges and only place such bet on such ranges which gives us decent profits.
109  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stablecoins or Fiat? on: April 05, 2024, 01:17:44 PM
But you won't be able to purchase gold directly using crypto ? Or can you ?  Huh
If not, then you will eventually have to exchange to fiat and then purchase gold with that.
You will lose money on the exchange fees as well. I prefer fiat but if we have a large amount then exchanging it to fiat itself would be a bigger task.
So holding stable coin would be the easiest choice out of all, if we are plannning to buy back crypto later again.

Actually, you can purchase Gold with BTC and other major cryptocurrencies through online dealers such as JM Bullion, Bullion Exchanges, and APMEX. At least in the US. Not sure if they're able to ship internationally. You can always sell your crypto directly to Fiat. I haven't seen the option to buy Gold with stablecoins, though. I wonder why? Perhaps the regulatory pressure from mainstream governments, prevents this from happening.

TBH, I've had a bad experience myself with stablecoins. Especially those living on the Ethereum blockchain. Fees are utterly-high these days. Fortunately, competing chains like TRON and Solana provide the solution to this problem. It's also possible to use stablecoin on ETH-based L2 networks if you want the added convenience. Money is being poured into stablecoins as we speak (particularly USDT), so don't expect the trend to die anytime soon. Who knows if stablecoins become the CBDCs (Central Bank Digital Currencies) of the future? Smiley

I haven't heard of these dealers yet but I visited the site from JM Bullion.
I was really surprised to see that we can purchase gold using crypto directly.
The sad thing is that JM Bullion ships only in USA and I haven't heard of any such dealers that exist in my country.
110  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Have you considered staking? on: April 03, 2024, 05:06:12 PM
Just out of curiosity,I went to the official website of Ethereum and found that the annual interest rate is only 3.3%.

I wanted to stake ETH but the requirement is so huge that I dropped out of the plan.
3.3% is definitely very low but if you consider the annual growth of ETH then the cumulative growth including staking profits would be great.
But anyway, we cannot stake it if we have less than 32 ETH. I know there are other options like staking on binance, lending etc...
But all those options are not worth the risk for long term.
111  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stablecoins or Fiat? on: April 03, 2024, 05:01:44 PM
When planning to protect yourself against volatile crypto market prices, which type of currency do you prefer? A stablecoin, or a traditional Fiat currency (USD, EUR, JPY, etc)? Why did you make that choice? Would you prefer holding either currency long-term? Or crypto is better for that?

Your input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Smiley

If I really want to protect myself from the volatility of the cryptocurrency prices, I would invest in gold. To bypass the volatility of cryptocurrency, why would I choose another crypto? Doesn't make sense!

Stablecoins are great for trading. If you are a regular crypto trader, you can make use of stable coins. But when it comes to avoiding the volatility, investing in Gold is the best option.

But you won't be able to purchase gold directly using crypto ? Or can you ?  Huh

112  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How can we help beginners not to get addicted on: April 03, 2024, 04:52:09 PM
I remeber there was a post made few months ago on how people got started with gambling.
Most people started at a very young age, as teenagers mostly.
So if we sum up all those root causes on how various people got started with gambling then we will get a better understanding of how people get started with gambling.
Then we will be able to set better guidelines for newbies on what to avoid so that they don't get addicted to gambling.

I read that one too and upon checking comments, It's true that most of them started at the very young age, the reason is because of their curiousity, so all I can say is that in order for some young people today not to try gambling, it is necessary that at least they have been trained or given proper background information when it comes to gambling. If a person is restricted in their behavior, they will only become more and more free as if they are thirsty for information and new knowledge. Let's just teach them and then let's see what their next move will be once they have an idea about that. In order to avoid gambling addiction, there is also a need for proper guidance for the elderly and they need to carry the advice of the older ones, people must also know how to handle their time, emotions and money in order to avoid after returning home.

It's not about restricting them from gambling but making them aware of bad impacts of gambling addiction.
The right way to do it is already mentioned by you that they need to be taught about gambling.
Only when they know what gambling is about, they will be able to find out it's bad impacts and addiction.
There should be some kind of workshops that people should conduct which teaches people the negative impacts of gambling addiction.

Freebitcoin should write satoshi instead of Bitcoin (BTC) in the reply email because the value is so shocking that it is impossible for any gambler to deposit such a large amount just to gamble and play dice, and if anyone owns that much, we can be sure it is a company, not an individual.

Had a great day because I won 2 out of 3 bets I placed on BTC and ETH price betting.
1st bet was on BTC price range of $70k - $80k with the odds of 3.19x --> won Grin
2nd bet was on ETH price range of $3500 - $3750 with the odds of 3.81x --> won Grin
3rd bet was on ETH price range of $3751 - $4000 with the odds of 3.74x --> lost

Those were some decent returns.
Two correct results with odds of 3.xx is certainly a pleasant victory especially if you bet a large enough amount above 10k satoshi because if only hundreds of satoshi or only a thousand satoshi the profit will be not big, but whatever it is, it's still fun because the price of Bitcoin moves quite fast so often have to choose several price ranges in order to get a win, I don't know for the price of Ethereum because it doesn't really follow it.

114  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is lack of proof a problem for you or not? on: April 03, 2024, 04:41:01 PM
Most online casinos are said to be regulated, they claimed to have a license to operate, but experts claimed that it's stupid if there isn't any evidence of them being regulated.

My question to all of you is ...

Have you verified that the online casino you are using now is verified? How can you tell that its verified because there is no proof of verified shown to the public.

Also, in any way, does it bother you if you can't be able to figure it out that the casino is regulated or not?

Do you think that if all online casinos can tender some proof of being licensed all it reduce scams in online gambling?

That's a good question. I guess most of the people don't bother to go and find out if the gambling site they gamble on is legit or not.
Even I haven't made such efforts to verify the gambling site. I just prefer to gamble on sites which have a good reputation.
I consider reputation to be the most important factor for a site to rely on.
Yes, most gamblers only want an online gambling site that has a good reputation, in my opinion that is enough. And also having good reviews can help ensure that the site is really good, and I think those two factors are the most important.
Actually, to ensure whether the online gambling site is licensed
Whether it is legal or not is actually easy if we really want to do it. And we can visit the gambling authority site that issues the license and look for the name of the online casino site that we want to use, whether it is legal or not. But most gamblers don't want that, and they just want a reputable online gambling site that is enough.

If a gambling site has good reputation then it will automatically have good reviews. It need not be two separate things.
Hence a gambling site with good reputation would be the ideal choice for most of the gamblers.
Earning good reputation is a lengthy process of providing good services and user experience to the users.
That itself is a big deal which many sites cannot fulfill.
115  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Are there some charges to use Bitcoin ATMs ? on: April 02, 2024, 04:44:21 PM
I haven't used Bitcoin ATMs myself because my country doesn't have any but I have read about others.
Bitcoin ATMs usuall charge higher costs in fees and have a slightly higher premium in exchange costs.
That's how the ATM owner get it's revenue and settle up the maintenance costs.
116  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: DO NOT BRAG ABOUT YOUR BITCOIN on: April 02, 2024, 04:39:09 PM
While I agree that everybody should just keep to themselves how much Bitcoin they own, if somebody is held at gunpoint or at knifepoint, it doesn't anymore matter which wallet you're using, or whether it is multi-sig or not, or whether you have a copy of your seed phrase or some other backup. It's either your life or you cough up those information.

Perhaps it will help if your coins are stored in different wallets. If such a thing happens, God forbid, you will give the information of only one wallet.

Lol, that is true. Having coins stored in different wallets can help decrease the losses from theft.
But if I have a multi sig wallet with 2/3 sigs and if we tell the thief that the rest of the 2 keys are at different places.
And that we have to go there in person to retrieve the key then don't you think the thief will get frustrated and leave the place ?
Or may be he will just kill us and leave  Huh

118  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the #1 rule you live by in sports betting? on: April 02, 2024, 04:23:45 PM
Not to gamble with others money. That is my rule to myself because if I cannot afford to gamble then I shouldn't and much better not to force and find a way to do it.

One of the ways that many gamblers does when they do not have money anymore, is they find a way to gamble and that is why it is better not to gamble and not to borrow just to gamble.

That is ofcourse the most important thing while betting on something.
If we don't even have the money to place a bet with our own money then we should just stay from betting at first place.
It's the most important rule because if this is not followed then our lives can come at stake.
We have seen many people losing their lives just because they took a loan for gambling and couldn't pay it back.
So gamble within your limits and never ever take a loan from others for betting.
119  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The person who can’t control emotions in gambling will never earn money from it on: April 02, 2024, 04:18:14 PM
It is said in the title that when a gambler becomes emotional, it often happens that there is no chance for us to win a lot of money gambling. We are here to say that even a gambler wins, but only a small amount, and most of them lose in the end for sure.

That's why, as gamblers, we must know how to read the situation when we play gambling. These situations or circumstances that we always lose in every bet we make show that we should not continue betting first; instead, we should rest first, stop, or just come back on another day or occasion.

The sole intent of gambling should be entertainment. Everything else is secondary.
Winning money is a part of gambling but not everything gambling is about.
So people should rather focus on how can they entertain themselves with gambling and stay happy.
