101  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: December 27, 2014, 03:07:25 PM

was gonna say your price was to low my figures were 544 usd (to usa) on the above...but just looked the xmas price page seems to be gone it is
back at $659.00 w/o shipping again it seems

www.spondoolies-tech.com

what makes it even worse is your power consumption is not 500 watts as your calc shows but but 1200 watts  according to their spec sheet

and you have to buy a PSU (1250w?) I think to run this (unless you have one)

Underclock the units. I get 1.3TH/s with an at the wall draw of 800 watts on my bronze power supplies.

Couple that with 0.06 cents per KWh winter power costs and the fact that I already have power supplies laying around and purchasing these units makes total sense in my situation.

Besides, this is just a hobby for me. My goal is to provide hash power and just not lose my shirt doing it.

Can you post your settings;  I'm drawing just over 900w

I currently mine with workers under nhminer, but am considering moving to a BTC address to have access to some of the statistics.
Two questions:
1) If I switch will I lose all my past hash history (think PPLNS)?
2) Do you plan on implementing account based stats?

very interesting. any better deals available if I want 5 units?

The big selling point on this GB is free shipping

If you want a more granularity -- change the following file around line 329

#vi  /var/www/SP2x/settings.php

                              <select name="FAN" id="fan_speed_select">
                                  <?php for($i = 10; $i < 101; $i += 05){
                                      printf('<option value="%d" %s>%d</option>'
                                  } ?>
                              </select>

Has anyone played around with quieter fans?

(not 20%, but different ones)

I plan on a SP20 Nano Farm, but need to pull the BTC together;  How long will the price last?

5 SP20's right under your bedroom. You MUST live alone? I have an attached garage, which I tried my SP10 in and still couldn't keep it there from those high pitch fans. Then you wouldn't believe what happened. My good friend brought over his 2 SP10's and told me to go into the house, while he was in the garage. I heard him start up his SP10's then turn then off. He called for me to come out into the garage and low and behold the 2 SP10's were running! He made this audio box, same width size of the SP10. Has a bunch of what looked like speakers to me installed in it and the box was connected to some control with a few knobs on it. He turned one of the knobs slowly and the sound started to get louder and louder. I know nothing about frequencies or audio waves, but all the box does is cancel out all the audio/frequency waves from the miners. Not sure how it works, but since he wants to sell them, he wouldn't let me take a picture. Trust me, it was just a plain wood box with many different sized speakers I think. He said he has a few versions he's working with and making them variable tuning so the timing and frequencies aren't tied to one miner rig. Which would be impossible anyway, maybe our ears think they all sound the same, technically they are not. He was showing me all this on some meter be brought over. When he sells them he said he would make a post here with a youtube video. I don't know any of the details.

Neat!  Here's some more data on how that works: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Active_noise_control

Guy/Zvi - listening?  Built-in active noise cancellation.  I'd easily pay extra for that option on my sp20!

Good price and good power consumption of SP20 - imho it's better then S4 and Prisma
Guys, do you plan to open cloud mining service or own hosting service? I had bad experience with one of you hosting-partners, so don't want to repeat a mistake. Shipping fees and electricity price make me sad Sad

with whom have you had bad experience?

I would highly recommend toomim;  Very knowledgeable & customer oriented

Is there anyway to cut the fan speed to less than 40?  I plan on under clocking and am interested in reducing noise.

edit /etc/mg_custom_rate via ssh

looks like this is a new file

miner-FL1444045011# ls mg* -1
mg_custom_mode
mg_custom_mode_sp20
mg_custom_mode_sp30
mg_disabled_asics
mg_disabled_asics_sp20
mg_disabled_asics_sp30
mg_generic_psu
mg_psu_limit
mg_try_12v_fix
mg_work_mode
miner-FL1444045011#

What is the format to include the 30% fan rate?
112  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: November 24, 2014, 06:57:32 PM
The SP20 can be under-clocked to ~0.5 J/GH, depending on cooling and specific ASIC batch.

Cooling?
Ambient temperature.

any specifics? it has to be hot (>25C), cold (<18C) or in a specific range?

Measurements were done with Emerson 1600.
It offers (according to spec) minimal efficiency of 92% in our tested working points @25C ambient.

Is there anyway to cut the fan speed to less than 40?  I plan on under clocking and am interested in reducing noise.

I am parting out my miners -- anyone interested in CCD modules?

I'm in the US, so international shipping may be prohibitive

We at Toomim Bros Bitcoin Mining Concern are accepting for hosting non-rackmountable machines like SP20s, Antminer S3s, and ASICMiner Prismas now. We also can make and sell server PSUs for miners that require PCIe connectors (e.g. SP20) for about $100.

I'd like to give TBBMC another vote of confidence as well; I'll be shipping more machines there myself.

115  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BTCJam.com problems on: November 14, 2014, 07:08:08 AM
nice to see btcjam.com admin here's .

I don't have a problem for lock account on btcjam, but just small problem I think regarding my btcjam account.
why my facebook info don't appear on my btcjam profile ? I remember I ask Alexis to resolve this issue 2 month ago, but not resolve yet.

Speaking of btcjam problems ... when are you going to clear your 3BTC overdue loan?

If you are having weird behavior in SP3x : upgrade to 2.4.9. If all works well - don't.
Good day.

I take it you mean 2.5.9.

Confirmed: 2.5.9 is available

SP20 arrived today; up and mining in 30 minutes

However, ASIC stats shows:
LOOP[3] OFF (test serial failed or something)
6: disabled (i2c good, no OC)
7: disabled (i2c good, no OC)

Should I be concerned?

PS -- email sent to support, but I'm looking for collective wisdom here...

Yes.
The unit didn't manage to make the 2 ASICs work. That is 25% of it's ASICs, so that has big impact. Both ASICs 6 and 7 sit on same PSU.
Try to switch PSU between boards to see if the problem in board or PSU.

Switched PSUs, same results

I'm glad to announce that the entire October batch of SP31 has been shipped out.

It will take us another day to send you all the tracking numbers and AWB, however we wanted to assure you that all the units are on their way.

We are still working hard to ship out all the SP20s by tomorrow and will continue to update you.

Your patience is much appreciated,

Gadi

תודה רבה

Our core team, not including contractors, is much more than 12 people.
I'm waiting for the first SP35 assembly this week (and firmware adjustments) to give full spec update.
Refund process will start this week also and expected to be over in October timeframe.

Patient please. We just had 2 days of intensive "Inside Bitcoin" in Israel and I have a lot of catchup to do.

Guy

The only question I really have is did I order my SP20 soon enough to get the T-Shirt!
