1001  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: -- The Riddle of the father and son - Who Was, is and Will Rule the World! on: March 03, 2014, 08:10:42 PM
The worst Ixcoin can do is go from $0.10 to $0.00, but the upside is basically unlimited.  And with the same max coin supply and huge difficulty, I actually cannot understand why it isn't already closer to bitcoin.  Should be at least half of bitcoin market cap!  Why is it so cheap?
1002  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: -- The Riddle of the father and son - Who Was, is and Will Rule the World! on: March 03, 2014, 02:24:20 AM
OP, what is your real agenda ?
I heard rumors that you have invested big money on IXC, and this is the real reason of your lobby for this coin.
You planed your own pump&dump on IXC  Tongue, but this failed  Roll Eyes and now you try to resurrect the interest for IXC which was supposed to hit $10 centuries ago.  Cheesy

I think a pump and dumper would have dumped already.  Smiley  Well, maybe Vlad has dumped in secret Smiley
1003  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: -- The Riddle of the father and son - Who Was, is and Will Rule the World! on: March 02, 2014, 03:17:25 AM
Lionheart,

I honestly had no idea anyone was buying iXcoin because of my $1200 BTC/XBT prediction.  I had no idea I had any so called "followers" either.  Is that really true?

Yes, what I'm making here is another highly improbable prediction, just like BTC to $1200 in under 12 months was very improbable when I made that prediction.

So people should be aware that I'm making predictions here which naturally carry inherent risks but they should also know that I'm not doing it cause I happen to hold a ton of IXC but rather because I've done my research and I truly believe iXcoin will be the Hedge Fund and Wall Street coin of choice which means guaranteed success.

And what I tell everyone, it's best [for you] to diversify, I chose to go all-in into iXcoin but I've always been a big risk taker and I have paid dearly numerous times in the past [losing my life savings in risky high-tech stock investments].

Just buy a few thousand iXcoins, which is not even half of 1 Bitcoin, just in case I'm right, cause if I'm right then my $10 prediction is short term, and I would then expect iXcoin to go over $100 before the end of this year (from the $.07 cents today).

Of course that's another nearly impossible to come true prediction but this is what I see so this is what I advise.  But if I'm right, one doesn't need to invest a lot, so if one is unsure then don't buy a lot, just hold on to your iXcoin and even a mere 2,000 iXcoins could prove life changing, in less than 10 months [if I am indeed right about all this].

And who can't diversify their crypto holdings to include just half of 1 Bitcoin of one of the oldest and most secure coins in the world:  iXcoin.

That is nothing more than a sound investment strategy for anyone to follow.

Kinda scary, but you are actually do make sense.  lol

Just post it up as a regular reply here. Bounty ends when I get back (monday/tuesday), whoever gets the most votes from people here wins!

EDIT: I put my logo for test thats all!

Actually I believe this logo has been tossed out so to speak, in favor of a more simple approach. This logo ends up as nothing when it gets smaller. There are a few posts regarding this Smiley

Thanks!  We need a much simpler logo!

Does anyone know if I can add an .dat file to an existing wallet? I have some mint on a flash drive that I need to get into my wallet somehow without disturbing the coins already there, but I only have one computer.

Do not replace the existing wallet.dat file if the existing wallet has Mint coins. You will need to use another computer and a fresh wallet for that wallet.dat file.

Since you only have one computer you could send all the mint from the existing wallet to an exchange and then replace the wallet.dat file with the one from the flash drive. Then send the coins from the exchange to the wallet, but I think that will reset the PoS for you?

How many mint are on the flash drive wallet.dat file?

HoboNickels has a way to integrate another wallet within the wallet.

I have a little over 10 million MINT with at least 15 days of age, so I'd rather not reset that if I can.  If it's like others, I think i can just overwrite the wallet qt and not effect wallet.dat in appdata

Anyone able to confirm what I'm thinking is not insane? lol

That sounds right.  Just make sure you back up both wallet.dat files!!

Question on the "interest" earned by this coin ..

I'm sure this has been asked and answered before,

But, do coins held on an exchange earn interest  assuming
that they've 'aged' the required number of days ??

OR

Must coins be held in the latest version of the MINT wallet
in order to earn interest ??

TIA ..

Triff ..

If they are held on an exchange, the exchange gets the interest.

Maybe some exchanges will allow account users to get the interest....

Gingermod, go home with your Mom pls.
Guys, sry I let my dog out and he was barking a lot in every thread he can.  Embarrassed Here's another thread he barked:

This coin failed

As predicted

+1 Classic trolls. He is either another coin holder that thinks Mint is a threat or someone who sold too early.

But Digibyte failed, as I warned everyone it would, you stubborn fuck.

You also said Mint failed? Congratulations you were right about one coin, you clearly know the future.

No Mint is trading really well and is going through a very successful pump. WILL Mintcoin survive? No. WILL it fail? Yes, in time.

I mean it's a great quick profit coin, just like 99% of all coins. Mintcoin will never exceed Dogecoin, Litecoin, or Bitcoin.

You said it was dead when it hit 30, I can tell you haven't made much money in this game.

I don't think you can deny that this coin is being pumped. After it is inevitably dumped, no one with power is going to want to stay around.

Does this coin have services? No
Does this coin have anything new? No
Is this coin a clone? Yes

If it was a pump and dump, it should have dumped more than this by now.

I wish TiPS would switch over to a PoS coin!  That would really give it a boost.
i like this idea but this is old news. the current fad in crypto world is having own exchange inside the blockchain itself or something

I'm not talking about chasing a fad.  I'm talking about long term sustainability.

QUESTIONS TO ANYONE WHO KNOWS (no guessing please)

1.  If I mined 10 million coins in first few days and intend to keep them for the POS minting, but I have also mined more since then, how does the wallet know which coins I transfer out to sell?  Does it take first in /first out or how does it really know? My guess is that there is no possible way and this is a major hiccup in the code.

2.  If it pays POS before mining is complete (down to 1 coin per block) how does it know if coins have already been paid the POS or not?   If I buy 1 million from someone who got their POS payment, those have been paid the first payment.  But if I am still mining 1 million also, how does the system know which coins are new and which are old?  Another serious flaw I am thinking.  Uless the POS starts after the reward drops to 1 coin.

I realize everyone here is a genious and has their belief, but I want an accurate answer as the answer is very importnat and depending on it, there is a potential HUGE arbitrage situation in the making.
1. Withdrawals are random
2. When coins are transfered coin age are reset to 0 for those coins and a new 20 day period start.

1. this needs to be addressed.  We should be able to get a list of the coin age of coins in our wallets and pick which coins to send.  Or by default send the youngest coins.

I believe the coins have a coin age for each coin.. I see there is a coin age variable but dont know if this is per coin... if there is age for each coin then you would take over payments if its over 20 days old...

But reading the faq it says you need to wait 20 days so I dont know if coin age is per coin.. and if so Im not sure how 5% global inflation is forced after 4 years.

The coins have to be setting in a wallet, (not transferred to new wallet) for a least 20 days to be eligible to try and mint coins.  If you bought coins it would reset the timer on the day the coins were sent to you wallet.  If you bought the coins from someone who had them sitting in his wallet for 19 days, then no interest would be earned until they sit in your wallet for 20 days.

Does anyone know what the exact dates are of halving and the date it will become only 1 coin reward?
Also Are people holding on to these coins long term or pump and dump because Ive been hear both.

Hoping for the next Bitcoin here Wink

Thanks

Do you want an honest opinion? No, it's not going to be "the next bitcoin", but its price will increase higher than today's maximum. It's coming in waves after each block halving, so it should reach higher after the next halving. I think its value will peak once the block rewards drop to 1, and after that it's anyones guess. People will hold out at least until then, so I think we're only at the beginning. Soon as people see a dip it starts a cycle of panic selling after the pump. When the coin gets even rarer people will buy up even more. There's a lot more money left in this horse.

People behave in fairly predictable ways. If enough people are waiting to buy in at the next halving knowing the value will go up, then merely by consensual agreement the value will go up. Even people here think that it will. If enough act upon that, then we should see hikes and dips all the way to a big hike at 1 coin rewards.

If someone with big money is manipulating the price, then you can bet they'll want to do it again after the next halving.

Until the 1 block rewards kick in, that's how long the devs have to get some services and things ready, because after that it's either adopt or drop. The coin will be adopted if the devs get the services in place before then, but if not people will move on. The price can only stabilise if people believe it has a long-term future. PoS alone won't save it.

And just so you know exactly my bias; I hold about 2.2 million Mint, which I mined last week. I didn't sell today, and won't be selling until at least the 1 block reward kicks in. If adoption keeps the price stable and only suffers a minor dip, then I won't sell at all.

Thanks for the info.  I know its impossible to see the future and we still have some time till the 1 block reward but what do you think will happen? You seem like you've seen some cryptos succeed and not.

What do you mean by the devs have to get services up before the 1 block reward? Like exchanges such as cryptsy or real world acceptance?

Last question lol, What other cryptocurrencies do you hold on to for long term that your betting on beside Bitcoin and Litecoin?

Thanks!

Well by services I mean if the coin doesn't have anything substantial to keep people mining it, or using mint, then why would people stay? People aren't going to mine or trade it for the sake of it, not long-term. It needs stores, and services. It's all well and good mining and trading, but if nobody is using mint, then why would people continue to think it could have long-term value? Why not mine x coin, or y coin instead? PoS is good, but Mint is not the only PoS coin out there.

I don't want to go off-topic and turn this into an investment portfolio meeting, but the only coin I'm holding right now for long-term investment is PMC. I mine and trade many other coins, but you can just look at my post history to work that out.

well mining after the reward drops to 1 is almost pointless - but using "mint" could be a different story - it could be used as a store of value and earn interest - similar to an interesting bearing bank account

add it some payment processing and it has long term value

Some people will mine, because they have stake in the Coin and don't want the block chain to stop.  I'm not 100% sure but I actually think the transactions will start to be verified threw the PoS.
