1002  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: October 04, 2012, 08:45:50 AM
They might make a nice animated GIF?
1003  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: October 04, 2012, 05:42:01 AM
Anyone else think the bids look a little bit too linear? lol

Absolutely! I haven't been here long but I'm sure I've never seen either side without a few walls :-)
1004  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: October 03, 2012, 09:34:27 PM
you gaise are getting exited over a 4% increase?

To put this in perspective, I'd be lucky to get 4% in a YEAR at my bank currently.
1005  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [ANN] Btc4x.com - First Forex to accept Bitcoin! on: October 02, 2012, 06:15:53 AM
Isn't it odd that a company with offices in 6 countries only gets 165 results in a Google search and only registered their domain in April this year?

Edit: and I noticed that they have images of awards they earned in 2011 on their home page??
1006  Economy / Speculation / Re: [NEWS] BTC4x.com - First FOREX accepts bitcoin! - 1:1000 Leverage!!! on: October 02, 2012, 05:47:05 AM
Their broker, VenetFX, is almost completely unknown to Google. Kind of strange for a company with offices in 6 countries.

And the VenetFX.com domain was only registered in April this year...
1007  Economy / Speculation / Re: Volume in recent weeks has fallen off a cliff, what do you make of it? on: October 01, 2012, 01:43:02 AM
Volume in recent weeks has fallen off a cliff, while price has went up, what do you make of it?
My theory is that there are not much people selling, holding the coins back to see what happens
after the halving of block reward. So for the people that want to get coins, they have to put up
increasingly high bids to get coins.

Is it because people got spooked when news of the SEC investigation was posted on here? Maybe they're afraid of how far the investigation could go, that other authorities could become involved, and that some of their activities with bitcoins could be exposed?
1008  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: September 29, 2012, 05:19:16 AM
Adam? Have you bought?  Grin

The FUD is over^^

I still think we are going to hit 10$ at one point.

the walls are only getting bigger because volume has been low.

buying now is risky as fuck IMO

Is that you, proudhon?
1009  Economy / Speculation / Re: Someone's got some coins to move... on: September 21, 2012, 09:27:59 PM
More than likely. I see it's started again
1010  Economy / Speculation / Someone's got some coins to move... on: September 21, 2012, 09:19:09 PM
Each one of these transactions is 44000 bitcoins. Went for more than 20 minutes. Any speculation on this?  Smiley

1011  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum - Bitcoin client for the common users (friendly and instant) on: September 14, 2012, 09:16:55 AM
I have a question regarding passwords.

I'm not really sure I understand how this client is supposed to work, but if you use an encrypted wallet shouldn't it ask for the password every time the program is run? Mine goes straight into the application.

I'm running v1.01 on OS X Lion 10.8.1 if that helps

Only when you need a need acess to your private keys. Try sending a payment and it should ask for your password.

That works as you describe. Thanks  Smiley

Now if a couple of irritating bugs can be fixed it'll be the perfect client for me. Have to send a bug report...

You know Pirate's logging on (under a fresh account of course) to see what folks have learned about him - that's gotta be chilling to see.

He doesn't have to log on to see the forum posts in read-only mode. I see he's deleted all the posts off his fb wall too. There were a few the last time I looked and it's all gone now
1014  Economy / Speculation / Re: [SHARE] Your Personal Analysis (only post with pictures) on: September 11, 2012, 06:51:43 PM
Thanks everyone, I get it now. This stability is a good thing and a positive sign for the near future. Have to admit I was kinda hoping the price would tank for a bit so I could pick up some more cheap coins, but up is good  Smiley

And mem, you're quite the artist!  Grin
1015  Economy / Speculation / Re: [SHARE] Your Personal Analysis (only post with pictures) on: September 11, 2012, 07:08:52 AM
IMO this is a very good sign. it means as people take their profits from long term hording, the coins are being more and more evenly distributed.

Ah yes, I was thinking the same regarding the distribution of the coins. For everyone selling there must be buyers so those huge sell-offs must end up in multiple wallets.

My 15,000 figure came from the Clark Moody realtime chart. Is the other chart averaged over the 15 minute period? This is what I saw:

1016  Economy / Speculation / Re: [SHARE] Your Personal Analysis (only post with pictures) on: September 11, 2012, 03:38:20 AM
So that last big sell-off was approximately 15,000btc. That's not unusual?
1017  Economy / Speculation / Re: [SHARE] Your Personal Analysis (only post with pictures) on: September 11, 2012, 03:14:03 AM
Are these projections still relevant in this market? I'm an absolute noob but it seems to me that any time the price sneaks over about $11.15 there is a massive several thousand bitcoin sell-off and the price ends up just over $10.9 again. This has been happening for a while now. I can't see how anything much is going to change until these sell-offs run their course
1018  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: bitcoincharts kernel panic? on: September 09, 2012, 06:52:13 PM
Bitcoin Monitor is also not showing trading data. Is this related?

Installation went smoothly. Icons along the bottom seem greyed out? Not obvious that they are clickable
