1001  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: December 22, 2020, 01:51:03 PM
Honestly, I believe it's just speculation, not a true story.
Realistically, both Real and Barcelona are in a major crisis at the moment (specially Barcelona) and can't offer what he already has in Liverpool.
Because of the coronavirus, there is much less money available in football so big transfers are no more realistic as before.

Speculation has a way of making things real later on. I know Liverpool and Klopp will do all they can to keep Salah but as we saw with the Sterling drama and then Coutinho, they know if the player wants to leave, they will not stop them. I think most of this is just noise,,, Salah is always in the news for politics but he knows he cannot find love outside of Liverpool.
I understand very well that the Liverpool fans want to preserve the environment of his team and that it is the first time in Klopp's era that things have come out of the dressing room into the open for his most important players in this way. Liverpool under Klopp's leadership was the group team before it was an individual team. This will make the fans of the team angry at the statements that Salah declared publicly that he is unhappy with the captaincy issue and his hints about Barcelona and Real Madrid. Klopp is one of the smartest coaches able to control it and the coming weeks will show that. But if the issue is serious and more than an outburst of anger and actually goodness wants to leave, then Klopp will not stand in anyone's way and he did it previously. Coutinho was the most important player in Liverpool however Klopp allowed him out and with his money bought Alisson and Van Djik, and built a strong group.

Real Madrid got a nice and clean win against Eibar yesterday as I expected. They won all of their last four matches in the league. I wonder whether they will be able to maintain this performance. It seems that they really started gathering themselves up.
yup, congrats to Madrid, it looks like they come again on the right line...
It doesn't seem like Madrid alone. Barca is also in its best condition. the standings seem to get hotter in the middle of the season. *nice
It's still looking for me that Real Madrid is suffering from defensive problems and some offensive problems for the players. Part of the defensive problems is the modest performance from Casemiro, as for Kroos and Modric, it is as if they are back to life, controlling the entire field and creating chances from the simplest balls. And Benzema has involved  in 12 goals in LaLiga this season (scoring 7 and creating 5), with a goal average in each match that is a match with Iago Aspas.
While for Barcelona there is a finishing problem Messi has created 13 big chances this season (equally with De Bruyne and Bruno Fernandes)
And those players have waisted a lot of chances this season in Laliga with Griezmann (9) - Coutinho (5) - Braithwaite (7) Only Dembele has scored from the chances created by Messi (2) also as Messi suffers in scoring Barcelona suffers too.

Chelsea vs West Ham
I'm excited really excited to see this game. As both teams  have the most dynamic attacks in the EPL and now they are facing each which will move them up closer to the top 4.
I think Chelsea should be the better side in this game But in these types of games where West Ham thrive in under Moyes as they most of the times play much better when they are not the favouritesto win.
West Ham got only loss 1 of their past 5 away league games while Chelsea are unbeaten at home in their last 5 matches. So it's going to be more likely a Chelsea win but it's going to be a tough game. I have no doubt that West Ham could force a draw but it's best to go with Both teams Acoring.

Manchester United is looking to loan out their Central defender Phil Jones to either West Bromwich or Derby County also Burnley is monitoring the situation and they could move for him in place of James Tarkowski if he gets sold
Funny surprising thing is Phil Jones is still 28 years old. Most footballers reach their peak of their careers at that age and it's been more then a year for him that we ever saw him playing if he doesn't find a team to play with I think he should retire ASAP.

Bielsa have truly a crazy style in football it's true that for a coach who cheers the spectator is the offensive coach who never backs down, there is only one way in his thinking and that is attack and Bielsa is one of them .
His system of all players is being pressed, man to man in every part of the stadium  but in any mistake the team will be receiving a goal clinically, which is what happened against United. This shows through a heavy and difficult statistic, the team is the worst defense line in the tournament and ranks 14th. I hope Bielsa turns a little to the defense, tries to adjust and work on it as he makes the attack all his time and draws his thoughts there ... This is if he wants to ensure survival this season, defense is the first way to win matches. Smiley

Arsenal is the most striking example of the phrase "early appearances are deceitful".

The team that defeated City and stopped Guardiola's power was the same team that overthrew Chelsea in the cup final, and it was the same team that overthrew Liverpool at the start of the new season and won it by penalty kicks, it is the same team that won the first three matches in the league against each of Fulham West Ham and Leicester, respectively.

Then began the negative series that is still going on, the team ranks 15th and only 5 points away from the relegation areas, knowing that the clubs behind Arsenal lack a match except for Burnley two games are missing so it is very possible that Arsenal's scenes are ranked 17 after days if Brighton and Burnley won .

Things have become difficult, the team is losing the spirit and enthusiasm with which the season started with Arteta. You feel as if the coach on one side has his ideas and perception of the match and the application of the players on the other hand is completely contrary ... Aubameyang is so retreated that he no longer scores because his team has become a catastrophic offensive how not and he Ranked 16th in the ranking of the best offensive clubs.
The decline of Aubameyang came as a result of the decline of the system as a whole. For example, the number of opportunities made in Liverpool reaches an average of 31, while in Arsenal it does not exceed 14 opportunities ..
Here Aubameyang's criticism is completely illogical.

It is really unbelievable, how for a team that scored more than 1.5 goals per match, but this season it does not exceed 0.9 goals per match? As the 5 worst team in the league !!

Some people may blame Arteta and I with him at that point because the way he ran things was dressed in the perfection and craftsmanship of a man who was Pep's right hand and masterminded mind, but what is wrong with Arsenal is also his management who exaggerated the season by entering the season with one finished deal: Willian and the second partey who is injured for the most of the time so things seem mixed until further notice.

Arsenal is in a continuous fall, towards the abyss, and there is no hope for his return except to enter the winter market strongly and complete deals that Arteta needs so much.

* By the way, if you saw the amount of deals made by Arsenal without any benefit or the average salary in the club, you as a viewer will feel sad about such an old club, let alone the fans.

Honestly Barcelona has always depended on messi Cheesy. I mean sure sometimes they were good even without him
Sure they did have a high dependability on this player but with the recent unstable situation not just in the Barcelona team but also amongst it's board, they are trying to see a way they can abridge that high dependability as seen in the few UCL games they played and won without him on the pitch. Surely Barcelona is far from what it has been and I think it's going to be hard recovering just because of this dependability that they had on the fact that, with Messi on the pitch, any other player can be good or the Barcelona squared is set.
Honestly the only good thing came out from Barcelona's side tonight is Messi scored his 643rd goal and equated him with the legend "Pelé" for the number of goals scored for a single team in history.
Messi is still continuously breaking records but he is not "the old Messi " . Anymore and for winning the game Koeman decisions were not enough as his choices are illogical and he had a lack of a clear approach, sufficient depth of defense to distinguish your players with speed and strength in order to hit him easily, and the absence of mental stimulation .

The elections will announce the new Barcelona president on Saturday 24 January, and until then Koeman continues to coach Barcelona because the current Barcelona management committee does not have the authority to do anything, he cannot take over the decision to dismiss the coach and he cannot buy or sell any player. In the event that the new president arrives and Barcelona still stumbles like this, the decision to dismiss Koeman will not be long, at least this time we know who will be the next coach.

Dortmund made a big mistake for not allowing Sancho to leave last season despite United’s offer, which exceeded the 110 million euros. The amount of criticism Sancho is currently receiving is never justified, the player in 11 games with Dortmund this season has not scored any goal, and this is actually a very negative rate compared to last year, but it never limits the player's abilities and great talent because originally his team suffers from a results crisis and a change of coach And his lack of commitment to the method of playing is clear. It is a great talent that is not disputed, but its price is greatly exaggerated, 120 million euros in the current crisis in which all the teams are going through will make every team want it to review its accounts and this very large amount is not on its talent as much as it is exaggerated in this period. So it will be a surprise if he is ever to be sold anywhere near 80 million in the summer if he keeps not getting the results needed.

Speaking from the table point of view mancity are 11 points behind table leader Liverpool no devil saw this coming at this early stage of the season. To worsen the whole thing they are 4 points behind Southampton who sits at 3 positions on the log. The shark side has been poor due to some injury challenges and from the early kickoff results from Crystal vs Liverpool match the sharks needs a full 3points to cut the gap to 9 points between them and liverpool. The saints are in excellent form of their life but I don't see them taking any points from the shark side. From the last head 2 head Mancity won 5/6 againts the saints so I see them keeping that fine record.

Match tip: Mancity Win.
Southampton have been enjoying a good start so far this season , no one expected them to be where they are right now. But they absolutely deserve it despite some slips in recent weeks while on the other hand there's a lot expectations from city especially after Liverpool just demolished Crystal Palace so it's going to be difficult games for both teams I think we will see them both in the scoring sheets but it will be Citzens who will get the 3 points at the end.

There are going to be a match between Crystal Palace and Liverpool tomorrow. Liverpool are having big problems on winning away matches. They played 6 away matches and won just 1 of them. Crystal Palace are not an easy team. In my opinion, Liverpool will manage to win here but that won't be an easy win.
True it is not going to be an easy mission for the reds as it is one of those games where Liverpool have a big chance to build on the midweek win over Tottenham.
And they have a great history when it comes to playing Place as they are currently going on 6 game winning rum and if you combine that with Palace's poor home form this season then you have to say it makes sense to back an away win. Despite that Liverpool's record for recent away fis not satisfying but if the need to win games like this if they want retain their title so Betting on BTTS and Liverpool to win is going to be risky but good choice.

and it now officially! Shocked

It is normal because they are the same owner and he is doing it as a kind of investment for Leipzig, he will sell it after a season or two
This is absurd, the payout is so low for this young talented player.
I can already see him at Bayern Munchen in a couple of years for 40-60 million.

So many teams when for him this summer, in the list Milan who was very close.

20m seems like a charity donation for this player, I have no words.
It is normal because they are the same owner and he is doing it as a kind of investment for Leipzig, he will sell it after a season or two. So offcourse they wouldn't sell him for higher fees so they can keep their books clean and doesn't look like they are spending too much.
Seeing him make a success at Leipzig will even boost his price more as he will get more recognition by playing in Bundesliga. I think Leipzig will try to sell him out of Germany unless Bayern gives them an offer they can't refuse.
1013  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: December 17, 2020, 07:59:58 PM
Sheffield United is now getting worse in this season, there is only 1 point at the moment oh this is really a very unsafe zone for him, this is precisely the opportunity for Manchester to add points to maintain the victory in the EPL, I am sure this will be easier what is expected as long as manchester isn't embarrassing tonight.
I'm sure Sheffield United is very much looking not to even share a point to night and Manchester United doesn't seem like a team ready to rub them of all 3 points either. With Sheffield United haven't gotten just 1 point in 12 games, occupies the bottom of the table (relegation zone) and are playing from home in this encounter, it's going to be a very tough match for Manchester United. I really hope they win though @Manchester United and up that 6th position on the EPL table.
Liverpool is surprisingly back to the top of the table after defeating Spurs in yesterday's encounter. It was an unexpected win which Mourinho hoped never came but, Klopp remains the guy for EPL.
Manchester United is enjoying a streak of good results in the Premier League as they failed to win just once in the past five games .
They can get very close to the top four if they pick up all three points from this clash, and they have a very good chance of doing so as candidate for relegation since they picked up just one point in the first 12 rounds also their head to head meetings sees United getting the better results so no surprises here a visitors win with possibility of under 2.5 goals.

We have left behind a very good season. Mercedes were the most dominant team as most people expected. They had an extra advantage with DAS system but their engine was the most powerful one comparing to other teams too. They won't be able to use DAS system next season but I don't think that it will affect Mercedes too much. But Red Bull and Aston Martin teams could get closer to Mercedes's performance and we could see more challenging and enjoyable races. Ferrari had a bad season. They said that they will have a more powerful engine next season but I don't think there will be much change.
I don't expect a lot of changes for next year as it will be almost the same car used for season 2020 and they have also reduced the budget for the teams to spend in next season to $145m so I don't expect Ferrari to be anything near to a contender and surely the winner will be a Mercedes driver and most likely to be Hamilton unless something happens unables him to drive under Mercedes.
If he decides to change seats and that is most unlikely it will be something that will rock next season.

What happen this year to arsenal is really terible...this lose was not expected at all and many arsenal fans though that this must be the new beggening for arsenal but this lose will spread total doubt and panic among the team...also they will receive southhampton in the next round and this match will be prety hard
Personally I felt bad as an arsenal fan, It has never been as worst as it now even in the era Arsene Wenger things had never gone from bad to worst, it high time Arteta  benched some of  indisciplined players to reset their brains, if arsenal cannot defeat a relegation team then what is their chances of defeating a top or mid-table team?  how will they defeat in-form Southampton next weekend? the board should take a drastic decision now before that team becomes subject of ridicule.
Someone said this because Arteta did not include Ozil in the 2020-2021 squad, but I myself don't understand whether Ozil's presence will greatly affect the results and if Arteta changes his mind is it possible to added Ozil in the list of squad at the middle of the season? I don't know it allows for changing up player's squad at the middle of the season.
Arsenal is lacking creativity in the midfield in the absence of Ozil this man will create a final pass for their strikers to score goals Abumegang is not getting those killer passes, the present bunch of players in the midfield lack the tactical ability to create those passes, the likes of Ceballos. Wilnock, Partey and Elneny who ought to be creative as well as attacking midfielders are not doing enough, they are all playing holding midfield without attacking with the ball except holding possessions which is absolutely useless without scoring goals.
Its likely that Arteta brings him back into the squad provided he is not sacked before his arrival a link to the story https://the96illusion.com/2020/12/13/mikel-arteta-hints-possible-ozil-return-to-arsenal-squad/
Exactly if Arsenal still wants to be a relevant club they should back Arteta despite the poor results as they're not in a shape of cycling managers and if they look to Manchester United it was not working for them despite their spending on players so if Arteta manages to stay up to January which I think he should.
Also he needs to get rid of the dead weight. They hold on too long only  players who shouldn't be part for the club.
They get chance after chance and blew it.
Xhaka should never play a game for Arsenal again. I never understood why all the Arsenal managers likes Xhaka so much. I think that he was always looking like a liability in their midfield I think his suspension will be a help.

PSG against Barcelona at the end of this stage we will see someone getting fired either Koeman or Tuchel as it will be something embarrassing for those two clubs to be knocked out in this early stage since both of them are contenders for this title. PSG have spent hundreds of millions trying to lift it while Barcelona is trying to get it so they can persuade Messi to stay for more seasons at Camp Nou.

very terrible results from Arsenal.
You would expect more from them especially at home against a mediocre team like Burnley.
Making them snatch 3 points to get out of bottom 3.
Football critics now should be now turning their heads towards Arteta as he is not getting the results he is expected to deliver
Hahahaha, very funny way for you to put it, describing Burnley as a mediocre team. A mean, last season, Burnley was terrifying to me, I could neither place a win or against them bet for me. They were very challenging and they often dragged there games to a draw. I still carry that feeling about them and as such, them having this kind of result against a team you can't say if it's really a top team isn't that surprising.
It's just so bad that Arsenal has been in the game for this long and haven't really earned a place to be title contenders. I guess this is why critics haven't really faced off with Arteta. When it comes to Arsenal, its just a matter of doing enough to stay in business. A sad one for the fans who are expecting a lot though.

Arsenal 0-1 Burnley
Leicester 3-0 Brighton

Good game for Leicester city, Madison might have had the day but, Jamie Vardy always finds his way to get on the list and he still remains the man for me. Well earned 3 points.
a lot of teams that were performing well last season seen a drop like Sheffield and Burnley but this season they are not getting the results.
Sheffield lost some key players and Burnley didn't recruit any player worth mentioning. For sean dyche his performance last season has deceived him.
It's true that we are not even near half the games in but before this game Burnley had 6 points from 11 games and only 5 goals scored in them so that statistics is alarming.

Borussia Dortmund have sacked coach Lucien Favre following a 5-1 home defeat to newly promoted Stuttgart, the club has confirmed.
https://www.espn.com/soccer/borussia-dortmund/story/4261493/favres-dortmund-future-decided-following-5-1-thrashing

I say good riddance!  Wink
I don't know if the new guy Edin Terzic is going to cut it for Dortmund.
He is yet any professional experience as a manager his only thing that is working for him is that he spent 2 and half years as an assistant manager at Dortmund under Lucien Favre. After that defeat against Stuttgart he should probably have walked out with the manager. I'm afraid that Dortmund is going to lose some of their stars if they see that the team is not headed in the right direction and by then it will be like a sinking ship and everyone will be trying to jum out.

So many records going down tonight;
1. Arsenal have now lost 4 consecutive Premier League home games since 1959  Shocked
2. It was Burnley's first win at Arsenal in 49 years

What really went wrong with Arteta's initially promising tactics when he had just joined Arsenal?

Another terrible result for Arsenal and, I don't know where Arteta is actually getting it wrong in the premier league, but whenever the team is playing in Europa League they happen to be a completely different, I understand that these are two different competitions with different level of competition but then Arsenal's performance in the league is really horrible four of their last fives matches have been against teams below the top ten, they've won none and drew just once, and three losses, while maintaining a perfect run 6 of 6 in the Europa League.
very terrible results from Arsenal.
You would expect more from them especially at home against a mediocre team like Burnley.
Making them snatch 3 points to get out of bottom 3.
Football critics now should be now turning their heads towards Arteta as he is not getting the results he is expected to deliver and that is mainly for his stubbornness when he committed Ozil from the PL squad and know the German midfielder getting his paper while sitting at home. Arteta should strengthened his midfield with proper players I knew that Willian move to arsenal was not going to be a success and he wouldn't be enough to make the team score more goals.
