1021  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Thought On Gambling Strategies on: June 25, 2023, 09:50:10 PM
I think people don't understand that there is no strategy in gambling. Gamble but consider your spendings on it as an entertainment expense. Got luck on your side and won? Good. If you don't you still had fun.

Wrong. There is strategy in gambling and everyone can have their own if they are inclined to do so but the thing is, there are no strategies that actually gives guarantees as we don't really know what will be the exact outcome as we only have speculations about its likelihood and never the exact result. In the end, we really on luck and confidence alone as that two factors combined will increase your chances in winning.
1022  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bet on live game or while game hasn't started yet? on: June 25, 2023, 09:08:42 PM
Cast your bet in a match that have yet not started or bet when the game is already live?
It must have been asked before but in case new sports bettors have not yet read such thread, reply back your opinion about it.

Really depends on the situation if the game or fight is so tight then I may have to cast my bet during live and one more reason about that is there might be some sudden movement about the lines during live mainly if the suspected outcome is not that likely to happen.

But when I'm somehow confident about who will be the winner then that is the time to cast my bet much earlier as at that time, there could be some great odds especially if I'm rooting for the underdog(s) to upset the favorite(s). Other reason why I will have my bets in advance is if I have some scheduled errands later that day.
1023  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 25, 2023, 08:25:22 PM
Not official, it could be just a rumor, but I heard that the Knicks is pursuing Zach Lavine? It says that the Bull are looking for young players and future draft picks and of course salaries as well.

So it might be Brunson, LaVine and then Randle for their own version of big 3. Bulls have been inconsistent in the last 2 seasons though, we thought that they might be a different version with the acquisition of DeRozan but it seem they have been plague with injuries.

I'm inclined if that will indeed happen because the Knicks duo is going to need another player to keep their stats working and so that the team will achieve much further than what they had in the last run plus I don't know why the New York Knicks were really silent in the draft night.

Anyway, regarding about that speculation. I've read that Zach Lavine is not interested with it, so it's a no-no.

Zach LaVine camp would be against a Knicks trade: source
1024  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are the Predictions of Bitcoin Halving accurate? on: June 25, 2023, 04:45:25 PM
and as someone else said average this session is 9.89 meaning under 293 days.. a fortnight less
That's wrong.
There are 44229 blocks until the next halving and assuming that the next blocks will be mined with the average time of 9.89 minutes, the halving should be 437425 minutes or 303 days later. That's only 4 days less than the time predicted with considering average block time of 10 minutes.
That's true and what we have are just mere speculations or rather estimations about when will be the next bitcoin halving will happen and that's just the given situation by the platform considering that there is indeed a block that will be mined in every 10 minutes. In simple words, nobody can fully guarantee that the given predictions will exactly happen at the given time frame.
Anyway, we shouldn't be bothered about this thing because what's more important is to try and accumulate as much bitcoin as possible before the halving will happen as we likely know already what will happen after that.
1025  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Easy or hard to quit? on: June 24, 2023, 01:33:07 PM
This also means that if you truly believe that gambling will change your life, you have that addictive behavior that is pulling you.

That doesn't mean you are addicted to gambling because there are people who believe they can make money through gambling, and they have been successful. It's only wrong if it's impossible to make money in gambling, and yet we still pursue it. If you are addicted to gambling, that means you can't control yourself anymore, and once you are out of control, there's no way you'll win.

Certain situations will make the gambler go towards addiction even without them knowing because they don't equip themselves with a goal other than seeking money thru gambling. Everybody can do that as that is the main goal but what separates us from the addicts are our own ways like having the right mindset and setting the boundaries to keep us away from harm.
1026  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: June 24, 2023, 12:21:39 PM

For the case of Casimero in which we have been discussing, the burden is on his side. If Inoue wins then most likely it will be Tapales for unification. And so with that, Casimero needs to make a move by fighting rank boxers. That's the only way that Inoue will be interested on him, if he still can proved himself at 122 lbs.
Inoue would only be interested if the fight is a mandatory fight. If he has other options, such as a unification fight, he would gladly accept that. So, although Casimero will work hard to improve his ranking, there is no assurance that he will have the opportunity to fight Inoue in the future.
Inoue is a very great boxer and not all fighters he can accept in a challenge fight considering he has also been world champion in three different classes and also several other titles.
I've been following Inoue's development and this boxer is amazing because to my knowledge no fighter has been able to beat him.

Casimero is actually a pretty great boxer with quite a lot of fighting experience but when compared to Inoue I am much more in favor of Inoue.
What you said is correct where Casimero will never stand a chance against Inoue.

I bet that there are many people who will contradict to that because even if Inoue shows some edge over Casimero, that doesn't mean that Casimero got no chances at all. It will be a good fight for sure with no way of knowing who will win the fight, what we can do is to give a speculation and bet whoever we believe will win.
1027  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: June 24, 2023, 10:33:15 AM
I recently checked my favorite sports bookies and it seems that Donaire is the favorite and Santiago almost 3:1 underdog?

I thought it could be closer though, but I guess even at his age, Donaire can still fight and that's why they put him as a big favorite here.
There's no need to be surprised by that, as Alejandro Santiago is only ranked number 4 based on the stats that were shared earlier. It is expected that Donaire would easily win this fight. However, since there is no assurance that Donaire will emerge victorious, perhaps Santiago's fans might view it as an opportunity to potentially earn more money if the young Santiago manages to defeat the older Donaire.

Number 1 vs number 4, the odds could be close as I have think though, in any case though, it's not going to be a sure win for Donaire here. Although he can dominate the fight is he pushes for it but this is a title fight so Santiago is going to train very hard as well and should also be looking for a upset win here.

There's no such thing as sure win in this match for Donaire, in fact such word shouldn't be brought in this conversation in the first place because Santiago is a solid fighter who's young and hungry for a win. Donaire is past his prime and he's approaching 41 in November - so things will be a bit different for Donaire now. Anyone who dares to challenge him can always have the chance to bet him.
It should be wiser for Donaire to stay patient and control the fight as he have the reach advantage. He could still move swiftly though so this is going to be a good fight.

I definitely agree. Even a term like walk in the park in this fight is not that suitable as well because even if we say that Donaire still got a good edge against Santiago because of experience and other advantage, securing the fight via win is not guaranteed because the latter is also looking forward for the same thing and will surely not agree that he will be defeated without giving a good fight.
1028  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terrence Crawford vs Errol Spence - June 17 on: June 23, 2023, 07:21:40 PM
Well, Eddie Hearn is a huge boxing fan himself and is probably the biggest promoter right now and is a master in the business with superstars Canelo, AJ, and fighters from other promoters that fight in DAZN except GBP which has its own exclusive contract with the network. His 500k-600k is a good estimate and is already a big success given these economic hard times.

This fight though has real potential of breaking a million PPV buys. I also believe that tickets will be sold out quickly. So far PBC has named Pitbull Cruz battling against Giovanni Cabrera in the undercards probably to get the huge Latino boxing community.

In terms of the live gate's tickets, there is no question at all that it will be sold out quickly just like what Garcia vs Davis fight did or pretty much faster than that because we have to include the fact that there will be some businessmen who are having some business in gaining these tickets as fast as possible so that they can sell it in a much higher price. But when it comes to PPV buys, I doubt that they can break a million of it because the world is getting modern each day and big fights like this are almost shown for free in some sources like Facebook live or even YouTube because they are seeking the viewers as well in-exchange for some voluntary amounts to watch the fight live.
1029  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can i make 100 $ daily from online casinos on: June 23, 2023, 06:55:40 PM
The logic behind is gambling owners are making money from the pocket of the gamblers, maybe you can win some but not always, and like what you just mentioned, better to find other ways to earn profits instead of taking this route and risk your capital, the chance of succeeding is too slim compared to the chance of busting out all your money.

In some ways, you might win and enjoy that winning streak, but when the time that your appetite in aiming to earn more conquer your mindset, that will be the beginning of worse thing to happen to you.
We can win some money but still can't beat the amount of money that the casino will get. We can imagine if 100 gamblers lose in a day and they use a lot of money to gamble. We can see how much money the casino will get.

Meanwhile, we don't have a great chance to always win at gambling. So instead of taking the risk of losing a lot, we should reduce the amount of money and the length of time we gamble, and we also have to know when to stop to prevent big losses.

Well, in most cases, like what is happening on the daily basis as long as there is no extraordinary winnings achieve by a single player, the casino is literally not paying anything out of their own pockets to pay for some gamblers who have won a decent amount because the house edge gives them an advantage already to get the players on the losing side, and the player's money on the losing side are the same money that they are using to pay for the gamblers in the winning side.

So yea, it's really a win-win situation for the casino and it's just like we're battling to get the money against other gamblers in the same platform when in-fact we are targeting the casino's money.
1030  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 23, 2023, 05:43:45 PM

Why not CP3 be the starting PG for the Warriors, then Curry be the SG or Klay on that position. Just so funny though that 3 days ago I saw a interview from Mike Dunleavy Jr and saying that with Poole's contract, he will stay with the Warriors. But after that he was traded.

For Kuzma, if I'm not mistaken he declined the offer from the Wizards and most likely be in the trading block as well.

And if that happens then Poole will act as the new franchise player.
Curry is not going to relinquish his role as the starting guard. CP3 will not be playing every game, they will use him sparingly because he is older and has a tendancy to get injured. The Warriors have their core and lots of role players on the team, they're going to be looking to get past the drama from last year in the locker room and come together again for 1 last championship run. Klay and Steph will not be around forever.

Good point and I think it makes the picture even clearer as to why the Warriors gambled just to get Chris Paul in the franchise, as of now, might be too much to ask for CP3 to maintain his health all year because we all know that he's already somewhat prone to injury and I think the Warriors are already looking for some ways to minimize that and one of those ways is to let CP3 play when he's highly needed. That said, I think he will come off the bench and not as a starting line-up.
1031  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How being open to ideas and comments help you learn? on: June 23, 2023, 08:03:19 AM
If one refuse to accept new comments or ideas and just hate whenever corrected, then it’s a clear sign that he is not ready to learn, as learning requires an open minded individual so he can easily perceive every new idea that comes his way. That’s why aside from being hunger of new knowledge and good information, one should have the high interest and high determination to learn, and this could be perfectly done if you have the passion and patience to learn new things.
1032  Economy / Economics / Re: I don't believe you on: June 23, 2023, 07:38:11 AM
Those are the right questions. And the answer to both is: nothing. There's nothing that guarantees us that our funds are safe in centralized exchanges. This SAFU thing is a big joke. The truth is that once you let go of your coins, it is not safe anymore. Once you lose control of your coins, you can no longer assume that they're safe.

Indeed, banks and centralized exchanges are no different from each other. They're using their depositors' money for something else. They risk and invest and even give away and spend money they don't own. Supposing each and every depositor decides to withdraw all that they have in their accounts right now, they will all end up short.
Even reputable exchanges cannot guarantee the safety of our coins, same with the big banks in our country. So the moment we let it out from our own hands, then we are not its owners anymore, but everything belongs to the centralized exchange or bank that we have trusted. As we’ve often said, not your keys, not your coins. So never put everything you have in a centralized exchange. They may be trusted for now but we never know in the future. Just use a centralized exchange if you are planning to trade, but you can never put your coins there for long term hodling. Have your own hardware wallet or non-custodial wallet wherein you are the only one holding your keys.
1033  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Luck is what you need in gambling but you have to get to work with trading on: June 22, 2023, 09:58:31 PM
Trading needs a long term preparation before you start to risk yourself in it, and by investing on yourself first like gaining adequate knowledge and essential skills as a trader, you will increase your chances to be a successful trader in the making. However, luck is what we only need in gambling, no need to study and be expert when gambling, because as long as you have that luck you will be in profits, and once you have gone out of your luck, then prepare to set yourself into losses.
1034  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Without money, the knowledge is a waste on: June 22, 2023, 09:29:14 PM
Yes!
you got the topic very correct and I do mean it because after my last thread, I was actually wondering  the essences of having all the knowledge  about bitcoin and cryptocurrency at large and still don't have the money to buy, I just feel its a waste of effort and such a person  with all his knowledge  will definitely miss out of the opportunities in bitcoin and I'm  on the opinion  that people still need to always have some form of money at all time to buy bitcoin especially  at every instance a dip arises and I want to know the essence of wanting to crowd ones brain Brain with so much about bitcoin  when such a person doesn't have any more to buy rather than seeking ways to buy?
This is the reality. It’s useless to say that even if you have all the means to invest like knowledge and strategies but you don’t have sufficient amount of money to start your investment, I guess everything you have will just go into waste. It’s still a great advantage if you have instant money and then you have acquire knowledge and skills prior to investing because that will certainly work in the long run. However, if you can make use of your knowledge by participating signature campaigns to finance your investment, I think that would be an awesome idea too.
1035  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies Stop Teaching When You Need To Learn. on: June 22, 2023, 08:59:04 PM
It’s really funny to see some newbies acting like they are highly knowledgeable as legends in the forum. And worst is they end up teaching their co-newbies who are both inexperienced and are less knowledgeable. I just hope that this will serve as an eye opener to them that they are not supposed to teach unless they have gained enough knowledge and experience whom they can share to the newbies in the future. Teaching is good but only for those who have the resources to make it realized.
1036  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is your honest review of the Demo account? on: June 22, 2023, 08:34:33 PM
There's not that much to think of demo accounts, they're good as testing features of the exchange where you're about to trade. And it's actually good marketing honestly. Because when someone new tries it out and he's winning into his demo account, that will make him encourage to deposit and later on do the trade. But we all know that the actual trading is entirely different from the typical that we know of. That's why those that have lesser knowledge in trading and are still new are likely the ones that are losing more.
Demo accounts are actually a big help for us especially for beginners who want to learn to trade without risking money. But know that live trading is a totally different scenario unlike when you are just a trading with a demo account. Your skills and strategies will be tested, as much as your emotions will matter a lot. And that’s the reality in live trading, at least you should be more exposed to it and let yourself experience losses that will eventually turn into future profits when you’re already a pro in it.
1037  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Getting Some Merit really boosted my motivation on: June 21, 2023, 09:59:17 PM
This may seem trivial to those who already rank high in the forums. but it really means a lot to beginners. Gaining Some Merits actually can revive dormant Motivation. But still I also realize that just motivation is not enough. but also must be accompanied by an increase in insight. with more diligent reading and so on.
Other beginners must also feel this way, right? I doubt if only I feel this pleasure.
Receiving merits will certainly encourage us to improve even more our posting habits so we can achieve high quality posts. And that will only happen if we never stop from making DYOR and be more open to constructive criticisms as that will help us develop the best version of us. But my suggestion is you should not focus only on merit taking, there is a lot more that we can develop within the forum. Respect, camaraderie, and being open to accept new comments in the forum should always matter more than merit taking.
1038  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stop stressing kids with bitcoin on: June 21, 2023, 09:34:53 PM
There is nothing wrong actually if we teach our kids about bitcoin so they will develop awareness on it at an earlier age. But maybe we can’t expect from them to learn easily and adopt bitcoin mindset just like we are doing. Kids will always be kids, and no matter how we are eager to teach them with new insights, they will always stick to what children’s happiness are. And discovering, exploring, and playing will certainly give them more fun than be serious and learn the most about bitcoin.
1039  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Before investing on meme coin or shitcoins consider this. on: June 19, 2023, 08:37:49 PM
investing in memecoin is a very bad thought considering memecoin is not a good thing to invest in,
there is no technology, no product, and there is no great demand in the future,
so you will be in vain if you think about entering memecoin just following Fomo from people who want to profit themselves.

Can't really blame them because I know a lot of people who have been in the market for long now that still enjoys risking some of their funds by investing towards these meme coins especially that specific coin that has been gaining a lot of attention because of Elon Musk, you know what it is. Trust me, I tried to warn them and said some words that could discourage them but even that were wasted because they already knew their chances and risks, still, they are waiting for that hype train to arrive even if it will cost them money.
1040  Economy / Economics / Re: Is poverty a lack of money? on: June 19, 2023, 08:14:09 PM

In summary when you have everything you need to survive and you don't need money, are you poor?

People may have different ideas about what poverty means, but in my opinion, it is not being able to afford to meet your basic needs, such as food, clothing, and other necessities. Lack of resources to address basic issues As a result, I consider it to be poverty if someone can provide three meals per day and clothing, but lacks the funds to handle potential problems. I don't believe the poverty rate in many countries will be high if poverty is merely defined as the inability to give three meals per day and clothing, as many people are always able to accomplish.

Certainly depends on the individual's problem because there are some of them that can still provide up to 3x or even 4x meal per day but don't have any extra funds to provide for their extra needs and there are some as well who are having some struggles to provide their family to at least eat 3x per day. For them, that's already poverty but sometimes, being poor will be an inspiration to get themselves a better situation and be comfortable in life.

It's just that most of their days are not that good or they are not that lucky to find some ways to get themselves comfortable for at least one day because there are other factors as well that hinders them to get up from slums.
