10241  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is slowly shit. on: September 13, 2013, 11:59:12 AM
No reason to become ugly about bitcoin.

But for real we have two problems:

- you have to pay fees. MultuBit / electrum give you no option not to pay fees. The dream of bitcoin as feeless money-transmitter is dead
- even if you pay fees the transaction is annoyingly slow. I had to wait one or two hour, and I payed fees.

This is really bad for bitcoin

The fee right now is 0.0005 BTC. That's 6 cents USD. First off:
-Bitcoin still is the cheapest way to move money internationally or long distance
-There has always been a fee. When did you dream about "feeless" money transfer?

6 cent are 6 cent more than I have to pay when using my bank account.
Lol, have fun sending money to a place outside your country. From USA to Europa for example. I really like BitCoin and if you aren't dumb enough to add enough fees (which costs almost nothing) you will have a great time using it. Also, taking a day to confirm isn't bad at all. If I send money to another bank in my own country it can take up to 1 day before it's processed. If I want to send it to the country next to me this increases significant (and would cost me a lot more). So I prefer BitCoin above all.

OK, so considering a situation like this: someone sends Bitcoins and doesn't include a transfer fee. What happens to those Bitcoins if the network "decides" not to deliver them to the destination address? Are they returned to the sender?
As far as I know, yes.
10242  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Blockchain.info wallet import "reversed" my transaction change. on: September 13, 2013, 11:45:39 AM
So I think somehow blockchain.info missed the "return addresses" (what are these called anyway?) during the import.

PS: Why are the return addresses for the change unique addresses, and not just the originating address?

They are called change addresses and are used to increase security and anonymity.

Please do not use my outdated link. Use http://www.bitcoininformation.info/ instead.

my goal is to eventually be producing between 50 to 150 BTC a minute
I laughed, a lot. Good luck with that.

Also have fun with finding sponsors. You are a newbie, you don't have any reputation, you do not provide any collateral and you cannot guarantee payments to your sponsors. I know, a sponsor isn't a loan, but still, I don't think people will invest in you.

is this possible         "my goal is to eventually be producing between 50 to 150 BTC a minute"
Everything is possible if you have enough hashing power a.k.a money. But a 8 BTC investment to produce 50 to 150 a minute, that is not possible.
10245  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are my transactions forever lost? on: September 13, 2013, 10:51:27 AM
Transactions can take up to 5 days, after that you should start worrying.

Yup, I've entered it. I'm able to vote and such, just not upload photos. Trying again in this post.   Yup confirmed, "Bad password"
Hmm, strange. It works for me:

When I try to pload an image, it says invalid password...? What does that mena?
Have you entered your password in the setting area? If not, then that is the problem. You will have to request one from JackJack.

Dangit! There goes my easy 1BTC  Sad
You can still bet that I'll forget with other people: http://bitbet.us Grin

So I go to http://userscripts.org/scripts/source/174546.user.js and copy/paste all the up-to-date code.
Result:
Quote
       return Array('',' €');

Of course when I'll use another computer tomorrow I will forget to fix that...
I will fix it by hand right now and if you don't fix it tomorrow, you are going to send me 1BTC. That way you won't forget it, deal?
Anyway. No.
I'd still be able to forget it...  Angry
It could have been smart if I were confident about my brain.

10255  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [Development]SatoshiRat - a bitcoin game on: September 12, 2013, 08:10:22 PM
I've got a new idea.

What say if the runway is a bit longer and for each rat to draw two speeds, one for the first half of the runway, the other for the last half.

This way more drama will be added to the race.
I think that is a great idea! A fast rat could still lose at the second part and a slow rat could still win at the second part.

Post your bid  Wink
I do not have enough BTC to bet at the moment. I need to keep my faucet payout steady and have around 60% of my 1BTC locked at the moment.

 Undecided
Being poor sucks Tongue I will just wait for the second round

BTW, look at this link: http://imgur.com/QXSxMg2
It gives the filename and the name of the uploader. (both could be manually modified though)
Should I change that?
I already put an "anonymous image upload" setting but I'm not sure whether I should put it on Yes or No by default.
I do not really care, but it might be smart to set the standard option to No. Just to avoid tinfoil people ;p
Yeah seems better. We never know.
I guess you meant Yes though? Grin
Yeah. I don't really care. I mean it's just my forum name + the name of a picture. Who cares about that?

Testing Upload Image.

Works Grin

I like the Perlmonks voting system a lot. Users get a limited amounts of votes per day and get experience points (XP) when spending those votes and when others upvote their posts. People massively downvoting is punished with a loss of XP.
This sounds good!
