Just want to clarify the system requirements for the malware.

Let me guess. The malware requires Microsoft Windows in order for it to be able to steal your coins.
I've seen plenty of malware that are .jar
1062  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Any PHP script that would do this ? on: July 15, 2014, 03:46:04 PM
As in, a script that you can copy paste? probably not. but there's scripts for doing each of the steps you mentioned.
1063  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin Core crash ! on: July 15, 2014, 03:06:35 PM
Corrupted Windows filesystem?

Probably not the case because windows will try to run chkdsk if it thinks it's corrupted.

Yes, beta versions of software will do that.  Report it to the mailing list and/or Github.

Provide more details though, if possible.

all versions of bitcoin core is beta

Send to 2.5 mBTC : 1AWchyVv65enT5h8DJLjgJgiriMsM69TiE
And Run GENERATOR:::::10mBTC

What are you up to?

Someone should believe you have a magic wallet where coins are multiplying?
....

come on ... be serious...

this smells like a attempt of extortion.
you don't' even know what extortion means  Roll Eyes

I mean " swindle " instead of extorion.
You came here just to tell me that I indeed choose wrong English word?
This thread isn't suspicious in your opinion?

Warning: Moderators do not remove likely scams. You must use your own brain: caveat emptor. Watch out for Ponzi schemes. Do not invest more than you can afford to lose.

1066  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin uninstall.exe Virus on: July 13, 2014, 03:10:46 PM
I would say it's most likely safe OR you're already infected. The windows installer is digitally signed so it's very unlikely that you got a tampered installer. Also, anything in the program files directory requires administrator rights to modify, so if a virus managed to to modify the uninstaller, you're already screwed.
1067  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [Release] Bitcoin Faucet Bot on: July 12, 2014, 08:34:08 PM
why is the executable obfuscated? I strongly recommend not to run this unless an unobfuscated executable is released. The virus scan coming out clean is not an indication that it's safe.
1068  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Dogewallet on: July 12, 2014, 06:51:19 PM
I strongly advise anyone from buying this wallet. It's very easy to craft an encrypted wallet that appears to have tons of *coin without the private key.
1069  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Relocating the blockchain data on: July 10, 2014, 08:41:18 PM
Code:
mklink /D %appdata%\bitcoin G:\bitcoin
then run bitcoin as normal (without datadir argument)

1071  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Buying Amazon.com Gift Cards @ 80% value on: July 09, 2014, 03:59:34 AM
Careful when buying Amazon gift cards from untrusted sellers. Sometimes they are bought with stolen credit card, then when amazon finds out they will reverse the gift card even if you've already used/applied it to your account. I know because I've personally been affected by this type of scam a few years ago on this forum.
I am well aware of that.

Hello grue,

I have Amazon gift card worth $100 and will be mailed to your email ID. I am looking for $80 BTC. I will go first as I am new.

Thanks.
I don't need that much. Sorry.

You must be kidding. EA was giving away BF3 for free a few months ago.

1077  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Can't accept incoming connections; I've tried everything. Help? on: July 06, 2014, 10:16:13 PM
Have you edited "maxconnections=" in bitcoin.conf? Set it to 12 and you should have the first 8 as outgoing connections, with the last 4 as incoming.

default is 125, so that shouldn't be the problem.
1078  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Buying Amazon.com Gift Cards @ 85% value on: July 06, 2014, 07:03:05 PM
I have one 10$ giftcard for amazon.com. Is this deal still active?

What's preventing miners from adding a bunch of filler transactions to satisfy the quota?
