what else to expect from a plastic miner... Undecided

not sure why the sides being made of a good quality, lightweight plastic is a bad thing. Its better than the S1, and far lighter than the S3, but really needs a top cover.

the burnt component on that machine looks like a regulator for the control board - not sure for what, possibly the 5V power source of the Beaglebone.

It sure is a lot lighter than the S3 but I have a bad rattle coming from those sides.

a rattle? on mine the plastic was firmly scrwed down and only flexed 1cm or so in either direction - no movement under normal operation though.

I had to plug it and run but heard a rattle. When I went down just now to check and see what it was I see when I grab the sides of the fan and tweek it some the rattle stops. so I will need to look and see if the fan is hitting something or rubbing.

EDIT: I will say its running just great. I just changed the Frequency to 375 and it climbed right up to 1250+GH  running at a temp of 49/50 at 635W with a RM1000 PSU

My Batch 2 miner arrives today... on truck for delivery.

Got mine a couple hours ago. The only problem I had was I have a lot of old IP address on my modem from all the S1's and it grabed one of those so I had to check a couple before I found the right one. Running great so far! Noise is not as bad as I was exspecting but have a couple of ideas to try. ( have it in my basement and can hear it some from upstairs )

1085  Economy / Gambling / Re: i need know best bitcoin poker site on: January 06, 2015, 04:38:24 PM
Betcoin Poker is the best in my opinion. Always a $10 freeroll you can get in. Anytime of day

Yep, also best rewards. They are also well funded.

I agree as I am happy so far!
1086  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcoin gambling website - legal or illegal ??? on: January 06, 2015, 04:33:08 PM
The only way I see this working is escrow with a independent way to pick the winner that no way you could controll. I also think it would be better to have smaller buy in with a tier payout of maybe 3-5.
1087  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S5: 1155GH(+OverClock Potential), 590W, Jan 12th Shipping [Sales Open] on: January 06, 2015, 04:15:04 PM
This is the thing, if history is anything to go by with the S2, S3 & S4 firmware problems - it could take months to get the S5 firmware right, if they do at all. This is the major drawback with Bitmain, great units but buggy firmware. Compare this to SPT, they are constantly testing & tweaking their firmware to improve it - not to get it working properly.

Bitmain & Firmware...... Sad

You hit that dead on! Always seems like a gamble early on with Bitmain.

To: Eric @ Cryptomine and/or carra23,

Obviously we are all now aware of the accusations being made, and I do think you owe your advertisers some piece of mind and make a statement regarding these.

Although I personally think some of the accusations are unjustified (I.e. choosing who you want as your advertisers), I do think the escrow issue needs re-addressing. Making no judgment on carra23, a simple solution to all of this is to move the current escrowed funds to one of the more trusted escrows (TCage, devthedev,  monbux and co - no redsn0w, you have not yet earned to be included with these guys).

Surely you can see that failing to do this does not look good.

Cheers

And how is Carra23 to ever get the trust if he folds to others pressure and let someone else escrow the funds? It seems pretty simple to me if you don't trust him then go somewhere else.

Enrolling as per invitation via PM..

So, Carra23, do you specifically invite certain users (green, trusted ones) to join this campaign?

Sounds very edgy, especially since they would be advertising a possible/probable scam, cryptomine.io..

I can say for myself that Carra23 DID NOT invite me.

Since you are saying explicitly that you weren't invited by Carra23, I have removed your quote from the scam accusation.

Thank you

You advertise instant withdraws but they are not. I deposit a small amount to make a small wager to help me fall asleep and enjoy a cricket game, literally a couple dollars and 2 things wrong with this stupid site (I can't remember when I actually had a good experience here and the last time I gave these guys a chance was over a year ago)...

1) I click on the game I want to bet and press confirm to my wager. It says the bet isn't available anymore. So why is it showing on your screen then as an available bet if it isn't? You convince me to deposit on a cricket game that hasn't started yet with a screen that shows better odds (it was yet to begin in 20 minutes) but YET you don't let me actually place the wager and yet display the odds STILL?! The match had not began and was not set to begin for another 20 minutes.

2) So thus, trying to get better odds I gave you guys the chance but you blew it so I tried sending my money back to NitrogenSports to place the cricket bet, a site that offers INSTANT deposit and INSTANT withdraw unlike your site I found out negatively. My deposit didn't have any confirms but it had 2 within the next 10 minutes. I still don't have my withdraw after 20 minutes and oh look the game I wanted to put $20 on? Yeah thats not happening cause your site sucks and lured me into depositing yet I couldn't wager on a game that hadnt even started but had odds displayed.

So yeah, DON'T deposit here. Enough said. Go to NitrogenSports where they offer things you can actually bet on if you see the odds and offer INSTANT withdraws.

Oh and yes, I did click on the confirm withdraw email. Fuck you guys for ruining my night. Seriously, so mad right now. I'll keep posting this repeatedly as you guys really ruined my night. You really did.

Do not deposit here!

I have withdrawn twice in two days after playing poker, as I won enough that I wanted to pull my BTC that I had deposited and play with the winnings. Both withdrawals  were instantly paid out to my wallet. Really the only thing I see is my Betcoin wallet still shows the last amount I withdrawn when it already has been sent and confirmed to my personal wallet and looks as if they would let me withdraw it again? I do know last night the site had some problems and all the poker rooms froze up, but as of right now I am happy with this site to play poker.
1092  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [BitAffNet] How we're the #1 Bitcoin Mining Pool In The World (proof inside) on: January 04, 2015, 06:15:36 PM
I'm always cautious though with pools and anything bitcoin. It's a risky business and I have been shafted before buy a pool operator who declared the pool closed due to losses. They then reopened later but would not pay anyone back for earned shares from the old pool.
So I worry when I see ongoing security issues.

I've been on the pool solid for about 4.5 months now, except when my rigs are rented out.

I don't worry about it and run away everytime there has been a problem, as they have always been sorted quickly. Getting 10% extra for months means most people are NOT going to lose anything even if the worst did happen which is very unlikely IMHO.

I ran in the beginning, But as time went on I always saw everything we did was fully reimbursed, if there was a problem that cost us BTC s0br always reimbursed us with a bonus that usually covered our losses. It has been a great pool. I have recommended it to everyone I now.

I agree as I pulled my miners many times when things screwed up with the pool when it was new, now I don't worry at all.

Isn't I should use 0.8 on power factor ? Looks like I can't contain 4 miners in 13 Amps socket.

The S5 should allow for you to underclock one miner and dial in the watts to match what you feel is comfortable.

I will know more once mine shows up this week.

I want to just say even tho I did leave this campaign it always paid on time and if my new one does not work out I will come back here. Thanks

I can say for myself that Carra23 DID NOT invite me. I asked him to consider me which I received a PM stating that I could join. Now I WAS asked by someone else to join their signature campaign. I will leave it at that.

EDIT: I guess I didn't make myself very clear but I was asked by someone else to join their campaign which was a different one than Cryptomine.io

Am I confusing myself or it's true that we will never break even with this S5 miner?

I have a space which rents is 180USD/month, including 13 Amps, 220 Volts; Which I consider is the cheapest place I could rent for mining at this moment.

This is my calculation:

Unless BTC priced at 430+, else we would't be profitable at all.

Correct me if I am wrong please.

Its even worst that you think as you have no difficulty increases figured in on your annual number. It looking like a 13% increase just the next one in 7 days
https://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/difficulty

Edit: on the bright side your cost for electric is better than most as long as you use it all. eg 2800 watts which would be about 4 miners

I played Texas Hold-em on  Betcoin last night. Had anywhere from 2  to 5 players. Seems to work good, reminded me of Pokerstars when I could play on there. I did a withdrawal when I got done playing to see if how well that worked. I deposited .20BTC to start, won .031, withdrew .10 back to my wallet which went thru within mins. Now my bal on my Betcoin wallet shows .131BTC (131 coins) which it says I can withdraw but it will not let me play again? I think this is due to it still shows my withdraw as pending , which may be due to me withdrawing after hours and I am thinking I need to wait till 9am EST? not sure but hope to play some more today.

Just got notice from Bitmain that my Batch 2 have shipped. Things have already changed a lot since I ordered, but am looking forward to receiving the miner.

I just played a few hours of Texas Hold-em on your site for the first time and enjoyed it. Easy to make a deposit and then tried the withdraw and it worked great. I would recommend playing poker there.

I went back to play some this morning and my Betcoin wallet shows my balance that can be withdrawn but nothing to play with? My withdraw that I did last night was paid into my wallet but it shows on Betcoin as pending? When you make a withdrawal does that lock your balance till its confirmed?

EDIT: It is allowing me to play again.
