The purchasing of bitcoins in Venezuela is taking off like crazy, look at the chart in the link below:
http://themerkle.com/venezuela-experiences-a-surge-in-bitcoin-volume/

The whole KimDotCom filesharing service based on BTC micropayments will hopefully drive adoption and price.

I'm hopeful that the future is somewhat brighter than that chart suggests.

What do you guys think about the potential impact of those two things on the price short to mid term?

in bitcoin world a contentious 2MB (or even more) HF is brewing with eventually changing the algo also. that could bring so much PR disaster that all of your points vanish in no time. (sorry for OT)

Yeah right  Roll Eyes

And who's leading it, Roger Ver?  Cheesy

With what miners?  Wink

doesnt matter who is leading it, my cat could lead it. there is such a strong demand for a 2MB-fork that it would get instantly a sizeable marketcap, if you like that or not. and that means PR disaster.

r/bitcoin should really be renamed r/fuckcoinbase for the amount of screeching and moaning that goes on over there. GDAX does seem to be having some regular problems at the moment but it's standard gremlins.

agree. and the irony that finex the holy grail of several bitcoin-over-everything-tards goes belly up.  Grin

1. The scientist who wants some job done, programs his program in ElasticPL - our own programming language - and submits this work package to the network. Along with his transaction he puts a certain amount of XEL in escrow ... let's say 100 XEL.

This, unfortunately, severely limits the usability of the platform.  Most of codes, me, as a scientist, want to run are already existing software.

I understand why such decision was made, yet...

Something as a compiler/translator could help.

1087  Local / Trading und Spekulation / Re: Der Aktuelle Kursverlauf on: August 07, 2016, 11:15:33 PM

suggestion: lets wait until stakes have been sold / the final block has been reached and vote then per stake.

spread of 10% = not good

spread should be 1% max

If we are discussing changing the number of XEL; I think Lannister has to ok this?

yeah, hope he will be ok with this.

we can start from 7 sats rather than 1400 sats.

this coin is for the people, so 7 sats is easier for adoption just in psychological sense.

hope i am right.

Sure you're right. For me one of the funniest explanation to why Satoshi picked 21m coins is "Because when it turns 21 it becomes an adult and can drink".

Truth is, mass often buy coin on exchanges with thinking "one day I'll sold 1 coin for 1$. I bought 100,000 of them so it's big. I can go to sleep with happiness filling my heart".

More coins is definitly better idea especially if there is good tech behind it to back it up. And more important if we have so high fees like 1 coin per transaction.

i agree, one thing i dont like though is when coins are only tradable in terms of bid = 10 satoshi and ask = 11 satoshi. that hinders liquidity at exchanges and should be avoided.

with 1.000.000.000 we would be easily valued at 50 satoshi, so that should be allright.

i have no issues with supply multiplication. 1.000.000.000 might be bit steep but no problem with that.

Monkey thinks BTC turns down again in about an hour.  He does not think the dumps are over, by any means.  But he does tend to lag on that issue, historically. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8XpZ8mKlS-c

Wrong.  But monkey is still leaning slightly bearish, with resistance at 605, support at 440, for the overnight.

Monkey thinks we will go straight to $1000 from here, just like the Silkroad-event in Aug/Sep 2013.

Nimmt jemand an?
Ja, klar. Eingeschlagen. Das überleben die nicht.

OK. Quoted!
