1129  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How dangerous is mining for your GPU? on: May 20, 2013, 12:39:58 AM
Anything 85C and under is fine for the GPU for 24/7 use.  It may get hot in the room, but the cards should be fine.

In the crate rig i got set up for my 3 7970s, they don't get above 75C.

Howdy
1131  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Litecoinfgpa on: May 20, 2013, 12:37:38 AM
Good luck.

You need not just memory space, but memory bandwidth as well.

They may compete on the watt/hash, but they aint gonna outdo a GPU with 300+ gb/s of memory bandwidth.

I'm runnin 3 7970s on unpowered risers through a 1200w FSP Group on a Gigabyte B75 board + Celeron g1610 combo with no problems mining ltc for roughly a month now...

OP, you never mentioned your PSU specs? Or maybe i'm blind... Shocked

1138  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Does mining slowes the pc ? on: May 19, 2013, 02:12:00 AM
OP,
A higher intensity/aggression means your gui will get progressively unresponsive and make it seem as if your computer has locked up or is 'working hard'.

Rest assured, it's just your gpu working..not your cpu etc.

1139  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Sapphire 7970 - OC advice on: May 19, 2013, 02:10:21 AM
OP,
Core clock to memory clock ratios are a huge deal if you've dialed in the correct config.

Try the config i posted a couple lines up, keep your memory @ 1500mhz (nominal) and mess around with your core in the 1040-1060 range.

1140  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: World War III and BTC on: May 19, 2013, 02:04:21 AM
WW3 will never happen with bombs and bullets, but rather bits and bytes.

Besides, seeing as how the world is so economically entwined...even the bad guys know it would be a pyrrhic victory at best even if they did come out on top.

This is why China still hasn't taken over itty bitty Taiwan.

Risk ticking off their biggest trading partner? nawwww.
