Satrt failed. Dont know wish start is more failure this or CAT.
Also pool dont works, think that we are mining litecoins for OP Cheesy

Are you serious? CAT was a complete, unmitigated disaster of a launch.

This coin hasn't even had barely 5 minutes worth of launch time.

Amazon paid Spot instance, cc2.8 Large.

As a cautionary note to anyone who may even think about abusing the free $200 AWS credit using fake/temp CC numbers, don't even bother.

Amazon considers that "deliberate" theft of service and has been sending law enforcement to peoples' doors.

Also, 1.286k CAT coins for sale.

Seems interesting. I'll give it a go. I have an i5 3550k overclocked to 4.2ghz. Will the overclock benefit?
<<snip>>

Seem to be getting an average 2.0 hash/min. Does that sound right?

mmm that seems a tad low (just a gut feeling), i am overspeccing my --thread count due to the miner not liking non-multiple-of-2 core counts.

Ensure that there are no other "heavy" processes running in the background, like say a wallet.

I would think that 3570k @ 4.2 could break at least 3 HPM.

Should benefit quite a bit.  I am not sure there are even diminished returns on more clock speed.

Here are some stats from a few of my CPUs:

Note that the 6/12 core X5650 @ 3.4ghz is matching the 4/8 core 3770k @ 4.6ghz.

When using the mmc2.0 minerd cpu miner, you *must* set your --thread parameter to a power of 2. (2,4,8,16,32 etc)

I have a dual 6c/12T xeon machine, and it would not run if i set each batch file --thread parameter to 12 to match the logical cores.

Setting it to --thread 16 per batch file worked and didnt appear to inhibit the performance of each node, even though each node was overspecced 4 threads.
1059  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Catcoin - Scrypt meow! on: December 26, 2013, 01:12:53 AM
difficulty shot up to 64 (x4) maximum increase as I suspected

that's TOUGH!
lets wait and see how the miners gonna respond to this

Moar powar
